Same reason Ceruledge stayed as long as it did. New toy syndrome, but that made sense at least.

For Garchomp, it's definitely fans refusing to accept the inevitable despite the fact that it's barely viable currently in OU and could actually have a role in UU.
 
I miss Treads so much, it was like amazing in Ubers pre-HOME and amazing for a week in OU post-HOME. Glad it's become the king of UU.

Also probably not the best place to ask this, but how is next month going to be handled? I mean, the new mons drop at the middle of the month, but i wouldn't like to spend October with freakin Illumise still marked as OU

New ability, Tricksy Bug. Topsy Turvy on switch in, plus inverts all new stat changes as long as it's on the field.

Illumise knows Swagger, so it'd just be death to slower physical attackers, and switches into anything with an offensive boost. If it kept Defog, there'd be a plausible niche for it.

its mid month so hard to predict but my guess is Oct 1 probably is going to see the same structure of drops as we saw after the first HOME where especially unpopular Pokémon could drop multiple tiers at a time. I figure if the new meta is especially chaotic and takes a while to settle they may wait until November though

If you don't mind me asking where are you getting these from? I checked the dedicated thread for leaks and didn't see anything ab it.
 
I'm glad poison types are getting the love they have these past few gens. I remember them being kinda...meh? Am I right, people who've been playing competitive since earlier gens? I haven't, just regular old cartridge, but I don't think poison has been as useful of a type, at least until fairies.

Now I feel my team is weaker if I'm not using a poison type.

If by they you mean some leakers, then yeah, if anonymous sources are ever considered trustworthy.
Apparently, HP/Atk/Def/SpA/SpD/Spe
135/145/110/20/85/55 & Normal/Steel is Ursaluna (Blood Moon) stats
60/65/65/134/114/70 & Ghost/Grass is Sinistcha, evo of Poltchageist, stats
107/131/95/73/95/99 & Poison/Fighting is Okidogi
125/71/87/119/87/111 & Poison/Psychic is Munkidori
93/109/73/145/73/107 & Poison/Fairy is Fezandipiti
Ogrepon has 4 forms, all are part Ghost, with a secondary type that changes both stats and the secondary typing. All forms have 115 HP and 105 SpA, but the other stats consist of 3 other stats of 105 and 1 stat that is 130
Teal Mask has 130 Speed and is Ghost/Grass, Wellspring Mask has 130 SpD and is Ghost/Water, Hearthflame Mask has 130 Atk and is Ghost/Fire, and Cornerstone Mask has 130 Def and is Ghost/Rock
For example, TM has base stats of 115/105/105/105/105/130, while WM has 115/105/105/105/130/105, etc.
Take all of this with a heaping pile of salt, as it is an anonymous leaker with no way to verify it pre-release.

There’s also a dedicated thread for leaks? Where is it?

And apparently a lot of the stats/movepool info is coming from some discord group and then spread around elsewhere. Not sure which one. Also,

The Matcha version of Polteageist has the same stats and nearly identical movepool to the original, but has two forms that both have differing Hidden Abilities (Weak Armor and Shell Armor). That’s it for the differences between forms though.

There’s also another post there detailing movepools through level-up and TMs. Apparently Blood Moon Ursaluna gets Moonlight lmfao

This is simply giving ursaluna 145 atk, maiming gigaton hammer to normal type, and giving the bear scrappy since its leaked ability Mind's Eye is both Keen Eye AND Scrappy
This thing will eat you for lunch, and it doesnt even need guts anymore.
