Sword & Shield **Official news only** DLC Crown Tundra 22nd October

The rewards are....
Balm Mushroom, Big Nugget, Comet Shard, PP Up, Rare Candy, Psychic TR all at 100%
Ability Capsule, Pearl String, AnotherPP Up, anotehr Rare Candy at 50%
20 L Candies, 10 XL candies and 5 dynamax candies

There are actually 3 Mewtwo listed, and only the 3rd has 50% PP Max and 2 Bottle Caps but no Psychic TR. I guess there are different sets, the last one being the hardest? I've heard that there's a physical one with bulk up and whatever coverage.

EDIT: Apparently one has aura sphere/flamethrower/nasty plot/ice beam/etc, so that Calm Mind behemoth could be the strongest.
EDIT 2: Apparently the other Mewtwo don't start with barriers so you can taunt them. Damn

By the looks of it, it seems Necrozma-DM is a safe pick to tank Mewtwo, as it's weak to very few of its moves and even then it has Prism Armor to stomach them.

Of course, there's the problem in that it lacks a good SE move against Mewtwo (its best option is X-Scissor lol)

I assume cheesing through the barriers with Behemoth Blade's insane damage output is not an option here.
That doesn't quite work well because those raids are actually level 100 on an actual legendary pokemon with very high BST and not 70 regular pokes like the regular 5 star ones.

Also because they happen to 1shot Zacian if he's not behind screens.

Is there a compilation yet of possible movesets this Mewtwo can have? I can say the one I fought had Psychic, Blizzard, Aura Sphere and Nasty Plot.

I have to give Game Freak a thumbs-up for trying to encourage co-op Raids after pretty much everyone realized all the existing Raids can be soloed without much issue (and that the co-op catch rates are not helping matters). I still don't like that idea, though.

Wonder if they're using these Mewtwo Raids as a test to see how difficult they should make the Legendary Raids in the Crown Tundra expansion.
I wouldn't exclude it.

I do suspect (personal feeling, I can't really back this up) that overtime they have slowly corrected the existing raids as well. I hadn't played SwSh for a few weeks as i had some backlog to take care of (lol), so when I got back to it last week, I noticed that none of the few dozens raids I did used any move that would "fail".
Previously, i'd very often run in raids that had stuff like bug bite (galvantula), explosion/selfdestruct (ferrothorn), or weight based stuff that would istantly fail with them just wasting the turn, and none of the raids i've done featured any of those.
I also noticed more pokemon using setup moves in general.

(Again, this is personal feeling and I can't really back this up with data on the actual movesets)

After giving it a shot, I'm deciding that this just is too difficult to be worth it. The rewards are lovely, but given they can be obtained otherwise the draw to them would be that they're repeatable -- and I doubt I'd get in more than one or two wins if that, and Ability Capsule is still 50%.

Instead I'm going for the starters, which is way easier and still gets nice rewards. Hell, Flame and Toxic orbs are harder to get than Ability Capsules; and Life Orbs cost a bit too. A quarter the price of capsules, sure; but I can easily beat like 20 Wartortle in the time it'd take to maybe possibly beat Mewtwo!

I'd say if you can't go in with 2-3 people you know and can coordinate with, don't bother.

New SS trailer showcasing ザルード, the new dark/grass mythical aka the "evil monkey" Pokemon

Strikes me as one of those mons that I find weird at first but I'll probably get used to as time goes on.

Anybody got a potential english name/design inspiration?
It's the evil monkey Pokemon, (わるざる can be broken down to わるい = 悪い for bad/evil and さる for 猿 i.e. monkey), but as I am typing this post, the English trailer reveals its English name to be Zarude, which is just taken from the pronunciation of ザルード, zaru-do.

Another Grass Monkey? How disappointing.
But... it's a dark monkey this time! Very scary! :pikuh:

Ok, at least it's not just another dragon nor just another charizard.
And not the trillionth dragon/psychic.

That said, with that typing and leaf guard as ability, unless it has some overtuned a f stats or some ridicolous signature move, I have a hard time seeing this pokemon as being "good" for Mythical standards...

Its name might literally just be the combination of サル (monkey) and ルード (rude). So yeah, rude monkey, I suppose. Just kinda dumb that we have Rillaboom and now... this.

You know what'd be funny (extremely unlikely, but funny)?
If that was planned and there's 2 more mythicals to be unveiled that are also a dark version of Cinderace and Intelleon.

Well, it's pretty much impossible, but that'd be a pretty big GalaxyBrain moment.

Not my favorite design but I kind of like it in motion.

Im guessing it Will be very fast, high attack and with an interesring support movepool.

Its nice we see it in motion but I was hoping do see some Armor footage....
