Yeah thats why India has scored 350+ twice as much as Aussies have right? lol350 isn't really that much, it only takes one person to make a quick 100 off 70 balls, like Dhoni did.
Imo, our entire team has gone extremely down hill since we lost Gilchrist, Langer, Hayden, McGrath, and Warne. To replace them, we've has Haddin, Hilfenhaus, Hauritz, Katich, and Watson is opening the batting. Haddin is nothing like Gilchrist imo. Hilfenhaus is -okay- but his just not consistant enough. Hauritz is the same. Katich is pretty good. But Watson... his shite. I don't see why his in the team, let alone opening.
It's a shame he's had to compete with Langer, Hayden and co. for so long, and he's really come into his own late in his career. He'd probably still have the test opening spot for a while, which would be good.1) His style, though incredibly effective, is rather boring to watch imo and 2) He's practically retired (Despite being in the form of his life)
Hipmonlee... your forgetting two of the greatest rising stars in Aussie cricket, Warner and Hughes. Both could EASILY slot into the aussie team and open with vigor. Particularly Hughes imo.
My team would be...
Marsh
Hughes/Warner
Ponting
Clark
M.Hussey
White/Watson
Paine
Johnson
Lee
Siddle/Hauritz
Hilfenhaus/Clarke/Bracken
With Henriques, Bollinger and Haddin all floating around, this team isnt all that bad on paper right?
lol, Ponting is one of the most unfavored captains in Australian history. He has more haters (As a captain) than Taylor, Waugh and Border put together.
On a far more positive note, Australia won the series 4-2 with the last match rained out and on an even more important and happier note,
MARSH MAKES A 100 in the 5th match!!! ^^;
Legend. He just Lurves Indian conditions.
