The Everything MLB Thread

King Phillip had a no hitter going into the 7th during his second start. But then he pulled his hamstring and had to sit out.

But i must agree that is pretty impressive.

Second i get into the cab on my way home from the airport the radio turns on and all i hear is "AND THE METS HAVE JUST SWEPT THE ALTLANTA BRAVES"...beautiful, because we needed that after getting swept by philadelphia

p.s. feels nice being back on smogon after being from vacation

Even though I live in the New York metropolitan area, I much prefer the Boston Red Sox, and since I once lived in St. Louis many years ago, I have been a longtime Cardinals fan though I favored the Red Sox in 2004 after their miraculous comeback in the AL playoffs against the Yankees. If the Cardinals can claw their way back in the playoffs and win it once again, then wow!

I'm going to laugh hard when it's Indians vs. Angels for the ALDS.

which would mean the red sox would play the yankees in the first round and I don't think that can happen by the rules

it's ok papelbon sucks balls but josh beckett will own

No, I'm talking about the Indians beating the Yankees/Red Sox, and the Angels beating the other one, and then playing each other in the 2nd round.

Our pitching sucks this month: look at this

Red Sox September ERA = 4.81, Yankees September ERA = 3.62

I am very worried now.

Hopefully the Yankees will win tonight. IMO, the Yankees can do it.

When I was watching last night's game, I saw the collision happen, where Hinske collided with Posada, and as if it wasn't enough, the channel kept replaying that clip constantly for a few minutes.

I'm now rooting for the Red Sox as it appears the Cardinals are out of it ever since Ankiel got accused of HGH damn Yanks!

As a pure Red Sox fan, I would like to root on my hometown and say one thing.

GO RED SOX!

I am still mad that they lost the series to the yankees but I have confidence that they will win the East!

It doesn't matter if you win the division or not, once you get in the playoffs everyone is even again.

Bragging rights are always cool though. ;) Also, I really hope the Orioles will turn it around soon... Hopefully, we can be a .500 team next year.

I'm glad that the Yankees beat the Red Sox 4-3, the other day. That was a good game. And they beat Baltimore yesterday, 8-5.

Hopefully they can beat the Orioles again tonight.

The Red Sox, Indians and Angels all have 62 losses... it really is anyone's game. My analysis of the AL: The Red Sox have a complete, solid team. It's as simple as that, but with that they also don't really dominate in any area. The Indians are a bit weaker in most areas, but with the way the playoffs go, they get 4 games out of 7 (and at least 3 out of 5) pitched by top Cy Young candidates. The Angels almost play like a hybrid of the Red Sox and Indians. In fact, none of those 3 teams are much different at all. Who does that leave? The Yankees have by far the most potent offensive lineup and while they may have a bit of trouble holding teams to runs, with the way they can light it up, it may not matter. I think the Yankees really have the most potential to win the World Series this year. In a league with divisions led by 3 almost identical teams, THEY are the hot team right now that has one facet of their game that is completely dominant.

fuck Gagne. he finds a way to lose any game if he wants to and he usually does. every day its looking more and more like the Yankees will be making it to the World series. if I had to put money on anyone it would be them and Cleveland second.
