Vikings trade for the Patriots' 1st round pick with their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th round picks. In a draft as deep as this, it's crazy to trade that many picks for one guy.

Patterson should be good in the NFL, but the Patriots will prove to get the better end of this deal.

Its almost like the Patriots trick other teams into being stupid.

Some hero we've not been in contact through this entire process ._.

And I don't want Te'O

I want someone to take him so my team doesn't get taunted about it. I can already see someone doing a gone fishing celebration after scoring vs him.

Poor Geno gets to spend the night in the green room.

I was secretly hoping the Ravens would pick Te'o, just so I could laugh at them. Ozzie's too strongth though

Yeah i felt bad for him. Bad part about the green room. Let's all hope he doesn't get permanently butthurt like Rodgers.

Winners of the night:

Lions: Best DL in the NFL. Maybe not this year but the talent is there.
Ravens: For not taking Teo

Was it the NCAA thread or the NFL thread that you said he was legit(or the real deal, i forget)? After i said he sucked cause he was getting ran over by bama. Actually i said "see guys, told ya he suxs".

Maybe, a lot of LBs will struggle when getting plowed over by top OG prospects. He did whiff a few times, but he's def not a "don't touch until the third" type player.

Lol the Cowboys are so dumb. Took a 2-3 guy in the first. Best part was seeing the war room celebrating and dancing after the pick

I'll never understand the logic behind some of the ways draft picks are traded...

Niners grab a safety, I'm happy. Now to draft for some more depth, lot of decent players still waiting to be grabbed.

And maybe it's me, but anyone else shocked only EJ Manuel got picked in the first round? Yeah the Bills were the most likely to draft one, but a lot of other teams still needed one as well...guess it really does highlight the rather low opinion of this QB class for now based on perception. I expect a run on the remaining good ones in rounds 2-3 now. RBs also got shut out completely too from R1.

bahahahahahaha cowboys

i literally almost peed myself laughing it was so bad

easily the worst pick of the night

fredrick is a 3rd round caliber player at a non-premium position, who is a plodding slow C (he runs like a 5.5) drafted by an OL coach who historically runs the fucking ZBS.

also pugh was a mega-reach too.

so many teams blew this draft. dion jordan #3 and barkevious mingo #6. Both of them should have been drafted 10 picks lower.

Man, my Lions will probably take Te'o in the second round and he'll get a DUI driving home from the draft. Oh well, at least he can fight his girlfriend without anyone caring...

Or more likely they take an OT or WR.

Bills traded down to get a spectacularly mediocre QB that wasn't going anywhere anyway (or even if he did the Bills could still get better QBs like Wilson, Barkley, or Smith), Jets draft a CB that will have to fight to even start for their team, Dolphins trade up to get a DE in a draft that is super-deep at DE, and the Patriots were able to screw the Vikings out of ALL the picks. This is why the Patriots always win the AFC East.

lol cowboys, lol giants, lol bears especially. Vikings make three great picks in the first round and then trade away everything else. Jaguars can probably wait another round and still snag a decent QB if they want since it seems no team wants a QB that badly, Steelers and Texans make good picks, Cardinals take the wrong guard at 7 IMO.

Jets should take Tyrann Mathieu in the second and hire Dez Bryant as their GM while they're at it.

No love for the Panthers who made the best pick of anybody? The Panthers really know how to draft, and if they keep this up I'd be pretty shocked if they weren't a contender soon, maybe even this year (though their division will be extremely rough).

Shocker that the Steelers made a great pick. I do worry that his injury which isn't supposed to be an issue will become an issue just because there is something in the water in Pittsburgh. At least he isn't an O linemen.

Glad to see the Cowboys shoot themselves in the foot.

Excited that my team actually gets to pick now. Of course when you remember that our first pick went to getting Griffin it makes not having it not bother you.

The Phins got one hell of a steal in the trade up to 3, if only they picked the right player. Then again, they'll probably get Albert from the Chiefs, so they didn't really need a LT, and any other player and they wouldn't have had to trade up, so I guess it makes some degree of sense.
The Vikings are idiots for trading away that many picks for one guy. That's never worth it.
The Raiders got basically nothing for the third overall pick and then wasted the #12 pick on the 4th best CB in the draft. I feel sorry for Raider fans.

i am ok getting the best player in the draft.

that's why there were 2 people in our war room. Caldwell said a few days ago they had it down to 2 guys. makes it a pretty easy pick.

VERY curious what happens with pick #33.

i don't think we'll be using it, as this draft is quite deep and we have a lot of positions to cover (as in, we don't have ANY starting CBs left on the roster).

I called Elam or Brown for us, very happy with the pick. He's like a fast Pollard who can actually defend adequately vs the pass. I reckon the Ravens trade up early in the second to grab (in order of preference) Brown, Teo, Minter or they go with an Armstead / Watson type LT.

This first round was interesting. The Cowboys's pick was a real head scratcher but again the Seahawks reached big time in the first round last year.

I'm fairly content with the Rams first round picks. Tavon Austin should be a great playmaker for us though I wasn't too sure about moving up to get him. I guess it had to be done since the last couple of receivers we wanted to fall to us were taken before our pick (Blackmon and Jones). Then we made a good move to trade down to make up for the picks we traded to the Bills to get Ogletree though I thought we could have take Eddie Lacy in that spot but I'm not too upset. Overall solid night for the Rams.

Edit: Always nice to see a Mizzou Alum being drafted high. Hope Sheldon does well in the pros.

Minnesota acquires the 29th overall pick from New England for the 52nd, 83rd, 102nd, and 229th picks.

Bill Belichick might actually be the devil incarnate.

there was literally nobody else to take
everyone left that had a 1st round grade was either a gamble or the Cowboys had the position filled already
all the cowboys need are Offensive linemen, Defensive linemen, and Safeties. thats it.

I'm pretty sure the Bills screwed themselves over more than any other team in this draft so far.

I actually really liked the Vikings' draft for once, although I agree they did give up a bit too much for Patterson for my tastes. Hopefully the 3 picks work out, my roommate told me this morning the last time a team had 3 1st round picks was the Rams in 01 and none of those 3 ever made a pro bowl x_x As the Vikings of the AFC, I liked the Bills' pick and I hope Manuel can prove all the doubters wrong sooner rather than later.

Theory time: The Cowboys are moving to the no-huddle next season.

Jerry Jones has already said he wants Romo more involved in the offense. They also have not come out and said who the playcaller will be next season. Why? Because it'll be Romo!

One of the overlooked parts of a no-huddle offense is an intelligent center. Jeff Saturday has never been an incredible center, but he's an intelligent one and his rapport with Peyton was great for years. Frederick is also not an amazing center (even though he's the #1 rated center in the draft), but he's apparently highly intelligent, double-majoring in Computer Engineering and Computer Science.

If the Cowboys are making this move, it's just like the Bills' situation; you do not pass on your guy because others don't rate him as high as you do, because that's the way he gets taken from you. If the Cowboys needed an intelligent center to move to the no-huddle, that's exactly what they got.

The Bills moved down and and got an extra pick how is that screwing themselves? The Cowboys made the dumbest pick of the 1st round by far.

because even if Manuel turns out the be the best QB to ever have played that game, you could have gotten another 1st round talent too, because he still would have been there in the 3rd, maybe 4th round.

it's very poor use of resources.

how the fuck did the bills get more value for their pick than the raiders did theirs

it doesnt matter whos running our team; we're destined for failure :|

...

EJ Manuel wasn't getting out of the second round, hence the Bills getting more picks and taking him
