Er...

1. Why the fuck is Wes Welker doing punt returns?

and

2. WTF, how did he drop an easy fair call catch?

welker returned punts for new england all the time in new england, pretty sure he was the general "designated fair catcher" most of the time too

Time to eat my words. Would be nice if we had wide receivers. Or refs that could see a dropped pass. Or cornerbacks that don't get routinely burned like Corey Graham. Fuck this. I guess at least I started Manning in fantasy?

My bad then, never paid much attention to Patriots. Just thought it was odd using him over some dedicated special teamer.

Yeah no. Can't wait to see people eat their words twice, I can't stress how overrated the Broncos are. Anyway, TIME FOR SOME FOOTBALL. GO RAVENS

For posterity.

EDIT: Awww you already ate your words... WELL STILL.

Or a coach who could throw a challenge flag. :p

Man stupid broncos make me so angry. Letting crap teams make games out of blowouts. Still, this game was over from the start, even with broncos playing like crap.

Fucking THANK YOU. I was expecting 38-3, would have settled for 49-17. This just pisses me off. Play to your damn potential damn it.

if the Ravens were going to come back in this game, it was basically going to have to involve an incredible amount of luck and an overtime

Flacco was actually so specifically terrible in this game that it prompted me to research how bad quarterbacks are when they pass the most...it was even more shocking than I expected given that until the last few years, qbs throwing over 400 yards was always a good thing. The thing is, a QB passing 60 times was usually a hot mess, not a 400 yard dude. All in all 7-43 by my quick count at the end.

It was going to take even more luck this time, since Flacco was so hopeless. Any time a QB throws 60 times it usually involves multiple INTs or fumbles, tons of failed drives, and the other team almost always scoring more point. You can see from my list - 5/7 wins in 50 games were in OT, just disgustingly bad.

STOP SUCKING PEYTON'S DICK. He threw for a bunch of routine touchdowns against a team whose defense was looking like utter shit. He had a good game, he wasn't the second coming of christ. I like Peyton Manning but holy shit are you people so fucking retarded at overreacting to this one game. Drew Brees is still gonna throw for more yards than him this season, and at the very least Aaron Rodgers is gonna throw up a better TD:Int ratio at the end of the season. Stop being so fucking impressed with one game.

I do actually think Peyton is W. Manning

:]

:]

you go to hell, you go to hell and you die

B. Manning is the Manning with the gifts of a god, cursed by his own glory to ludicrous end results due to the jealousy of the real gods. W. Manning is the Manning with the gifts of a frat bro after a few Smirnoff ices, a mortal man with relatively few talents, used by the gods to embarrass and humiliate his vastly superior brother in the greatest of cosmic jokes.

You must be referring to analysts, because pretty sure nobody here is doing that...

Users LonelyNess The Iron Kenyan and others were sucking on his dick in an IRC channel that was unrelated to football. I was forced to move my point here.

EDIT: Yeah the analysts are doing it too. I guess I should've clarified who I was directing my "you people's" at.

I like the taste of your tears tehvalkry. 5th MVP for Manning incoming.

In other news it's conforting to know that the Broncos, with that win, clinched the AFC West.

And might aswell bring up Aaron Rodgers. While Rodgers is the best QB in the league, Peyton will win MVP over him. Crap schedule, 13-14 wins, and a TD total boosted by this fluky game. Brady isn't even in this conversation this year. I am expecting a 12-4 season from the Pats but Bradys stats won't be ridiculous this year. Rodgers has to deal with the worst OL in the game. So even if he has the best year of a QB(like last year) his team won't. So really, it's Peyton vs Dree Brees this year. And i'll place my bet on Peyton because of Brees terrible defense MIGHT lose them some games. I say might cuz Saints be too damn good to care about d.

Dark Horse is Eli Manning hehe.

EDIT: Only a RB going crazy can beat the GOAT.

So, anyone else think Flacco is still worth all that money out of curiosity?

Wat? Nobody thought he deserved it in the first place.

Oh yeah, thought this was pretty funny:

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...its-john-elway-not-peyton-144100543--nfl.html

Didn't know Elway was posing as Manning yesterday.

How did the editor not realize this? I've heard from ESPN Radio this morning that the name changes in the article. Come on, Columbus dispatch.

And @Shinryu, I thought he was over-paid to begin with. It is just one game though, he still has a whole season to show that the money he got wasn't a entirely wasted by the Ravens.

As much as I think Flacco is overrated as hell, let's remember this was the first game of the season. Try not to overreact and doom him already when there are still 15 more games to play.

Why not judge him? He was handed the most undeserved contract in sports history. This is fucking fantastic and probably a completely accurate representation.
