I pick the Cards to trash the Cowboys this week. The Cowboys struggled against the terrible Bengals while the Cards made fools out of the Bills who are the top of the AFC.

Cards vs Bills is actually plausible this year, and would make a few people a whole lot of money in Vegas.
 
SURPRISE the Giants went to OT against the Bungles, yet managed to crush the Seahawks this week. People make something out of nothing all too often; great teams don't always blow out their lesser competition.

That's why I hate when people point at strength/weakness of schedule as a crutch for an argument. Sometimes teams play above/below their potential, anything can happen on any given Sunday.

As the analysts have mentioned, the Steelers have the toughest schedule of any team since the '76 giants (That's 32 years for you non-math people). They're 4-1 now, and playing fairly consistently. Remember also that a team's "strength" of schedule is inaccurate because no team is the same this year as they were last year. Most of last year's playoff teams are sucking right now, so a "tough" schedule might actually turn out to be a "weak" schedule.

I agree with DM, this year especially, we cannot take ANYTHING for granted.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Ravens-Redskins super bowl. Just for shits and giggles.
 
I am still not completely sold on the Redskins.


We're not incredibly talented - so far, Zorn has been coach of the year because he's made a team which is a 6th seed wildcared team on paper into a team that looks like it could contend for a Super Bowl. Problem is, talentwise we're a...6th seed wildcard team - we still have questions on both our lines, our LB corps is declining, we've founds playmakers in the secondary but Springs is declining and Smoot is a #3 CB - while our WRs are good but inconsistent, Portis is playing at the highest level since he left Denver, and Campbell suddenly looks like a top 5 QB.

I just don't know how long this can last.

If Jason Taylor comes back healthy and productive, and everything keeps going right, I could see us making a LOT of noise. But I want to see an entire season of this before I can crown the B&G.

EDIT: Okay, I knew, and then forgot - why do people keep calling interceptions pick-sixes (and why do they not realize they sound so dumb doing so, I do not care if it is the greatest incredible metaphor or analogy or whatever)?
 
I've never heard of that saying, but that sounds like an INT returned for TD.

I didn't bother to post after the Saints/Vikings game. Martin Grammatica = Ray Finkle, let's hope Brees and Snowflake don't get kidnapped.
 
So, as an atlanta fan, I am reallyreallyreally surprised to see them at 3-2. The cool thing is, we have a pretty easy schedule up ahead. We could easily end up 7-9 even if we really screw up.

Away games at Philly, San Diego, Oakland, New Orleans, and Minnesota coming up, and we're hosting Chicago, Denver, Panthers, Tampa, New Orleans, and St. Louis.

Games in bold are what I think we could very well win.
 
i'd say there's a lot better chance beating denver than chicago. the way i see it, falcons can only really out offense people for the most part. and mike turner will got wild apeshit on denver. he'll probably get like a 300 yard game against their run defense.

this was the best sunday so far, 3 games coming right down to the wire in the afternoon and the amazing cowboys/cards game
 
That was as wild and confusing as the OU-UT game. Romo is a fumble machine...but we still have the best WR and TE and RBs and K!!

I really do see the falcons going 10-6

Today's win convinced me. They have a very easy schedule ahead, and can make the playoffs no prob

I think that, just as the Falcons could do well, the Dolphins could too. Even though they lost today, they are really coming along pretty well. The rest of the schedule has a lot of winnable games and the Dolphins will most likely be competitive in all of them.

Baltimore, Buffalo, Denver, Seattle, Oakland, New England, St. Louis, Buffalo, San Francisco, Kansas City, and the New York Jets

Let's see... Baltimore was pretty dismantled by Peyton and the Dolphins could definitely do this because we have the most accurate QB ever and the receiving corps are getting better, as is the offensive line. Buffalo is a decent challenge because its defense has been good. The rest are entirely winnable as long as we play hard the entire time.
 
Lol, Washington losing to Rams was almost as bad as Bills losing to Cardinals last week. To the Cardinal's credit though, the upset of Dallas (boo Cowboys) was nice, even if it was in a rather suspenseful overtime.

As for San Francisco (my favorite), eh, they are off to a rough start, though they aren't in meltdown mode like the Seahawks at least. They can finish 8-8 at best I think, but likely aren't making any playoffs sadly.
 
If Chargers pick things up a bit I can see them contending for a Wild Card spot.

Or win the division if Broncos take a couple more losses.
 
yeah, i see denver faltering and san diego picking up the slack. chargers are only one game behind the broncos now. broncos are soooooo overrated.

cards are looking damn good. everyone else in the division is almost a train wreck.

i want to see the cards and bills both break that playoff drought. :(

also i absolutely LOVE how nfc north/south/east are a COMPLETE clusterfuck right now. east and south both have three 4-2 teams and one 3-3, north has 3 3-3s and the always comedic lions. it is impossible to say who is going to win anything in the nfc, aside from the cardinals taking the nfc west. 12/16 teams don't look too bad lol. give it 3 weeks and we'll start to see some separation.

on the afc side, bills and jets will duke it out in the east, pats will fade away. chargers took it to the pats haaaaaaaard. pats can't compete with the elite this year, not that there is an elite in the afc anyway. steelers will take the north, colts will catch up to the titans, chargers will eclipse the broncos. broncos could easily be staring 2-4 in the face right now.

so idk, steelers/chargers divisional winners, loser of colts/titans is in the playoffs, loser of bills/jets fights for the last wild card with a handful of other teams? pats out of the playoffs this year, everything about them screams "average" without brady. even the defense is slowing down.

Aaaaaaaaand Romo is going to be out until after the Bye, with a broken pinky. I'll be thankful if they go 5-4 into it at this point.
