Are you kidding me?
After monday, we (The Titans) will have a 4 and a half game lead on the Colts for the division.

Well, there goes my dream of a Cowboys-Titans Super Bowl. At the gym I was at, it went from one girl going 'hell YEAH we want to watch the Cowboys game what do you think do not change the channel' to ten minutes later her reading a magazine (and I trudged off to weightlift nice and upset).

I think that this weekend served to solidify the seemingly legitimate contenders for doing something this year. The Titans, Steelers, and Bills all look really worthy sitting at 5-1. The Giants have not played the greatest, but they have played solidly; maybe the Redskins, but that was a pretty sloppy game again, and they keep putting up barely wins; and then pick any NFC South team that is playing out of its mind.

Still not sold on the Titans.
When they play this upcoming Monday we'll know how good they are.
Bengals, Browns, Ravens, Chiefs, Jaguars, Texans
Not the best teams in the league....

I really hope people realize that Denver sucks ass. they should be 3-3 and we know it.

Also, I hope they realize that Eli Manning is a BAD quarterback and the Giants are a BAD team.
So tired of people saying they're the best team in the league when they're garbage.

Go Houston! =D

I think your taking anti-bandwagoning a little to far, my friend...

You gotta admit though; it's still quite nice going undefeated. Anybody can beat anybody in any given week in the NFL! Even though the teams were weak, they could of easily have lost one or two of them from an extra turnover or something like that. So I do not believe they're a fluke at all! The record may be bloated by a win or two, but you have to regard them as one of the top 3 teams in the league right now.

No I do believe they're a fucking beast of a team.
Great defense, great running backs, much better QB in Kerry Collins..I just don't see them in the Super Bowl.
But I really don't know who to expect anymore. =\

omg New England is destroying.
Sammy Morris is beast.

I'm not saying that they're a beast of a team, but you gotta give them credit for still being undefeated. The cowboys have lost to the Rams, The Redskins lost to the Rams, Giants lost to the Browns, Jets lost to the Raiders, Broncos lost to the Chiefs, and Patriots were demolished by the Dolphins, just to name some of the bigger upsets this year so far. The fact that not one of those teams have snuck-up and nabbed a win or two at this point of the season is pretty nice.

Tonight, Sammy Morris is acting like a beast!!

titans are for real, just not undefeated real. they'd be 4-2 with a good schedule imo. this next week isn't going to prove anything...so they win against a good team. so what? it'll be their toughest challenge all year and the colts still are only 3-3. granted, it is a divisional game so it's going to be a tough fight. but still.

i just looked at the titans schedule. a-fucking-mazing.

colts
packers
bears
jaguars
jets
lions
browns
texans
steelers
colts

uhh?? damn, they could easily go 13-3. colts will trip them up once, steelers might give them a show, and then pick an upset or something. easy schedule is easy, but they are still a good team. just not 13-3 good...lol.

damn patriots took it to the broncos.

i think both of these teams are kind of 'fakes' at this point, but pats less so after a performance like this...at least they are an afc bubble team atm.

this season is so damn crazy lol. two top teams in their conferences at the beginning of the year, pats/cowboys.

pats losing brady, cowboys losing a lot of people in the middle of the season, losing to the RAMS. it's going to be a tough stretch in dallas...and honestly, i don't think they'll be able to recover. their division is just going to take this opportunity to pass by them as much as they possibly can...

then you have buffalo, tennessee, arizona coming out of nowhere, washington playing up to its playoff spot last year...

i fucking love the nfl. you have no idea wtf is going to happen every week.

and mike nolan has been fired from the 49ers. mike singletary expected to take over. giving all the power to nolan, a career assistant, was a duuuuuumb move by niners ownership. he had his fate tied to alex smith's, and he didn't pan out. so neither did nolan.

kiffin, linehan, nolan already fired 7 weeks into the season...

What teams that the Titans beat are such trash? Jacksonville? Houston? Minneosta? Baltimore? Of htose, only the Baltimore game was ever really contended. This is a dominant team - 149 points scored, 66 allowed. Only the Steelers have been close thus far. It may not hold up, but when looking for signs of a dominant team, point differential is a great indicator, especially when the team happens to be better defensively than other teams (since being the best offensively artificially inflates the use of this methodology a bit). The Titans are undefeated good - they are 6-0. Not facing the Steelers, Giants, Bills, Redskins, Bucaneeers, and Panthers their first six games does not make them an illegitimately great team.

I think they are good, not great. They have problems putting points up against good run defenses, that's the main thing that makes me shy away from jumping on the bandwagon. They struggled against the Ravens, which has just as great a defense. Minnesota's defense actually did a good job of containing the Titans offense, but dumb offensive mistakes and good Titans defense consistently gave the offense amazing field position to capitalize. Defenses that can force Kerry Collins to win the game, coupled with a capable, balanced offense are going to be the true test for the Titans. I can only see the Steelers on the Titans' schedule really doing a good job of that. Maybe the Browns, they'll have to get their shit together for that one. Colts would be able to compete if they weren't in such a bad funk right now. Peyton Manning just isn't firing on all cylinders, and can't put it all on his shoulders. No rushing offense + bad rushing defense = promising Titans win.

This team will be able to play well in the playoffs though. Run game + defense = good chance of success. I just wouldn't put the Titans up there with Colts/Pats of recent years just because of an undefeated start though. More like the Steelers of 05 (i think) where they went 15-1 on a mediocre schedule, only to get outplayed by the Patriots in the AFC Champ game (again). Those Steelers actually had a gameplan very very similar to that of the Titans right now.

Giants and Buccaneers actually have better point differentials than the Steelers do. Pitt's 4th.

Packers absolutely destroyed the Colts. I knew our skid was a byproduct of Grants hamstring injury. We get a nice nice nice bye and then we play @ tennesee. I really think we have an upset in the making here. lets all cross our fingers :p.

I'm crossing them with you!

I think your skid had a lot more to do with Rodgers' shoulder than Grant's hammy, it's not like he was running all over the place before. Rodgers is that team, when he is good you win and when he was hurt you lost. You got your bye at the perfect time, just like the Bills.

Sorry, my post got a little confused; I was trying to point to defense being more important in the point differential than offense (because it is easier to inflate offensive numbers than defensive numbers in the current system). Point differential is a great indicator no matter what with an emphasis on defense is the way I should have stated it. For instance, Ravens have the third best defense by one point allowed under the Giants, but the Giants do have 65 more points scored. The Steelers better scoring defense is more impressive than the Giants better scoring offense, on the other hand, especially when taking into account the team's QB and RB troubles.

Every team in the NFC South and NFC East team has a positive point differential; pretty incredible at this point.

I do not think the Packers 'skid' is especially threatening. The Bears, Vikings, and Packers are all good teams that have playoff chances but blow games they should win; that is not going to be contingent upon Rodgers alone, or even close.

The Bears, Vikings, and Packers are all good teams

I stopped reading there. Are you kidding me? The Vikings are trash, and really should not have won 2 of their 3 wins. Their offense is absolutely horrid (LOL at Adrian Peterson) and their defense is not all that great either. They also have a special teams unit akin to that of my high school, which certainly doesn't help. The only reason they scored 41 on Chicago is because the Bears had a large number of very important players hurt, and their backups still came up big when it mattered. My prediction of 6-10 earlier this year may have been an overstatement, but perhaps the Vikings can get an LSU-USC-like ref play and somehow win 3 more games.

In more pleasant news, the Minnesota Golden Gophers are having an absolutely incredible turnaround, and with a win over purdue this saturday they can solidify themselves as a good team. Unfortunately, there is little to no hope of a truly magic turnaround because Penn State does not play the Gophers this year (and I doubt the Gophs would put up much of a fight regardless) so the only way Minnesota has a shot at the Big 10 title is if the Lions falter against OSU or one of their other remaining opponents, and the Gophers win out (which is not certain at all). Sorry for putting this here, but there isn't really a college football thread and I didn't want my post to be completely negative.

The Colts aren't a good team right now. :[ I can't blame the Titans for that, but I'm not anybody claiming they suck either. And they're going to run the fuck over that depleted Packers D.

how the FUCK did bears/vikings become a shootout

i was excited as hell for the giants/steelers...until news broke that parker didn't practice on friday and is doubtful for sunday. :|

and santonio holmes was caught with weed in his car and is now out for at least this game.

:|

Congrats to the Giants on happening to be on the field at the time when Pittsburgh decided to shoot itself in the foot. Fucking lucky bastards, I love when a team gets outplayed and still wins.

what is wrong with washington

we outgained our opponents like 600 yards the last 3 games but only went 2-1 with a scoring differential of 9

are we playing down to our opponents or something

God wtf@Favre these last few games.
Barely beating KC, losing to Oakland...so many INTs...at least he got down the field and scored when it mattered.
