Point to this statement? You're going to bring up the weather, well guess what when the weather was bad (vs the Jets Week 15) Tom Brady couldn't throw the ball and didn't even throw a TD. This plays right into the Jags hands with their running game and short passing routes compared to the bomb it out Pats.
Tom in the playoffs thrives in the cold weather, it could very well be a factor, though i actually was just saying that to set up my post =/
The Steelers are the third best at stopping the run, so you can expect the running game to struggle, but the Jags still averaged 4.7 yards per carry which is a great number. Jones-Drew is a warrior and will not give up, he trucked Shawn Merrimen, one of the biggest and best Linebackers in the league and you expect the Patriots 40 year olds to keep up with him? No chance. The Jags are the number 2 rushing attack in the league, they have 2 great running backs and a QB who doesn't turn the ball over, great things for a rushing attack. And its proven a great rushing attack WILL slow the Patriots offense down.
Well yea he trucked shawn on a block, lol, it was awesome. Though thats weird I must have been looking at the wrong team, sorry about that x_X. Well david hasn't turned the ball over that much, but in the first playoff game he did throw his shortest amount in between.
I never said he had a great game, and I consider a great game for him 200 yards, 1 TD, no INTs which he has done all year and can easily drop on the Patriots. The Jags are not a passing team, so Garrard doesn't need to throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs. And the Steelers secondary worrisome? Its ranked 3rd in the league, I don't get how that is worrisome. Care to explain?
You said he will have a great game, 200, 1TD on the pats is great? hmmm, I guess when I hear "great" i think 460 yards and 4 tds. yea I think I was looking at the division stats, stupid nfl.com.
One word, weather. It shut down Tom Brady vs the Jets and the conditions are expected to be similar, can't we expect the same from the Patriots passing attack?
Well was that game a playoff game? wow this game is going to be fun.
They got 40 yards on 26 attempts, for a 1.7 yard per carry average. And don't give me Davenport is not a good RB, he averaged 4.7 yards per carry during the regular season. Josh Scobee was 92% for the year, even the best miss a few every so often (Vinateri vs Chargers anyone?) And a fast 40 does not translate to NFL talent, rarely does anyone ever get to run freely for 40 yards, they get jammed at the line and can't line up like in the combine.
I liked how the jags still got pressure without their defensive linemen.
Remember the Colts of old? The ones who just dropped 30 points a game in an effort to win? But got no where in the playoffs. Best offense in the game yet still lost in the playoffs. I liken these Patriots to those Colts, all finesse and scoring, only when the Colts played physical and on defense did they finally win a championship.
Then again, the pats have better defenses then those colts.
Yes and I just reminded you the Steelers are better at stopping the run and still the Jags had a good rushing game.
ok now I feel like a moron for looking at the wrong stats, my argument would have changed if I got that right.
More like the other teams lost it, every team had the game in hand, but they all made a critical error that put the game back into the Pats hands. Each game was set up for a Pats loss, but the opposing teams made errors that the Pats were able to use.
Exactly my point, the other night the jags played 3 quaters then rallyed to win. Though no one better then the patriots have finished games, they play 60 minutes, even if they are up 30 or not if the jags try and sleep a quarter the game will be over.
Manning IS THE BEST. Brady had a good year yeah, but he never threw for over 30 TDs in a season until now. And you want to bring up MVPs and records? Manning has 2 MVPs and plently of records of his own. 6 INT games happen, EVERY player has a bad day. Moss made Brady what he was this year. Culpepper had a 39 TD season with Moss, guess what hes doing now, backing up rookies on the Raiders. Peyton Manning made his WRs, Marvin Harrison was a number 1 on the Colts before Manning showed up and never got over 900 yards or 9 TDs, once Manning showed up he started getting 1200+ and 11 TDs.
You still never give Tom credit for the season's he has with no-name seasons and still preformed. You said moss made brady, he had a great season not just with moss. He was the MVP not co-mvp with moss.*see aldaron's responce*
Yeah because they are all on the bandwagon and between you and Fight Two Demons, I don't know if any Pats fans can spell, form proper sentences, or quit talking out of their ass about "their" team.
