I think the break out team this year is going to be the Lions. Picking up tatum bell and drafting calvin johnson will make a big difference. Tatum and Kevin Jones spliting carries, with Calvin Johnson, Roy Williams and Mike Furrey at wide out and John Kitna passing, who i believe was top 5 in passing yards last year.(i'm to tired to check) The lions will have some offensive fire power and are imo in one of the weakest divisions in sports.

I see nothing from the vikings. Chester taylor is good and i expect big things from adrian peterson depending on how much time he plays. But after that its pretty thin. They do have killer run defense though.

The Bears are overrated but thats just my bias. Plus with Thomas Jones gone Cedric won't be spliting carries so that means that they won't be able to run the ball 40+ times a game and grind down the clock as well as they did last year. So it will put alot of pressure on Grossman. Also whats going on with Lance Briggs is he still holding out?

Also i don't think much of Greenbay since they have one of the worst running games in the NFL. Donald Driver and Farve are good. And Greg Jennings looked nasty in the beginning of the year. But then towards the end of the season he fell off the map leaving Farve once again without any weapons.

But Matt Millen is still their GM.....

Was wondering if I or someone else made a Fantasy Pro Football Pick'em group on yahoo, would anyone join? Just for Smogon, it'll only allow 50 people to join however. Just a thought.

I'd join. I did OK last year in pick'em, just a tad more than 50% correct. Maybe I shouldn't have picked Philly to win every single week...

First preseason games! Buffalo's first team offense kinda faltered, but the Saints had one game played already so you could point out that they were more prepared. On the whole, I was impressed with the Bills.

Well at least the Lions won a preaseason game! Though it was more of a mistake by the Bengals' kicker than anything else.

I'm kind of new to Fantasy, so I have no idea how it works ?_?

you get points for everything such as yards gained, TDs, fumbles, points allowed etc whoever has the most point after all the games are done is the winner in that matchup

TBH, I only feel as if your first team is up to par, in which I wonder how you got both Jackson and Addai as they're usually both top 5 picks.

Finally some people talking sense. I pick the packers for the Superbowl this year, Aaron rodgers looks great. Favre will come around, and so will our reicevers. Fuck running the ball when you have brett favre behind center, we won't get much more than 50 yards a game. Our defense is great, and so is our punter. So alkl we need to do is pass for a few and we are set.

Their gonna have one of the premiere running attacks in the league tho with that line and fresh legs in the form of Adrian Peterson. To GB FTW sorry, as much as I love Favre the pack is not gonna do much this year but watch out for them Cowboys fellas.

fix'd

hey could you try to use some punctuation and grammar in your posts because reading one long run-on sentence that should actually be about three different ones is kinda hard and a bit annoying cool thanks in advance you see what i mean

I personally don't expect much from the Packers. This season is solely for Favre to break Marino's passing records, not for the team to win another Super Bowl.

Your saying that the packers are going to win the super bowl. And that you don't need a running game. Also your bragging about a defense that was 12th in total defense last year. Also the only offensive weapons greenbay has are donald driver and farve.

Exactly. Favre is like 6 TDs, 2500 yards, 200 completions off of Marino's records. If they even make the playoffs, I'm sure more than Green Bay would be surprised. If they wanted Rodgers for the future, they should have put him in 3 years ago, not wait forever to decide on Favre is going to do that year.

Just like with the couple of posts above, i don't believe the packers will do all that well. i have a couple of other friends that are into football just as much as i am. One is a Chief fan, one a packer fan, and me, a jet fan. Slowly but surely weve grown to hate eatchothers teams with a passion when football season comes around. No offense to you GB Packers Ftw, but i hate the pack, simply because of my friend. He was on his knees worshiping the jets, as well as running around outside screaming "ALL HAIL THE JETS" whenever a car passed right after the 38-10 whooping we handed you guys last season. No offense to Favre, i think he's one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game, but I don't see that Packers doing much better than last season, even with all bias aside.

Yeah they need to put Rodgers in soon...this'll be his third straight year without a start. :\ iirc there are only a handful of other first round quarterback that didn't start his first 2 or 3 years...Chad Pennington comes to mind.

And then if he breaks down cause of last year, he can go back to the bench. I perosnally don't like Tony Romo for personal reasons. >:(

Traded Ben Roethlisberger, Clinton Portis, and Terry Glenn for Steven Jackson, Brett Favre, and Bernard Berrian. Jackson+Addai make this team pretty powerful. I think it does well.

And the second team sucks, I know. Third team is up-to-par, but not spectacular.

Anyways, the Packers should finish second in the NFC North. Playoffs PERHAPS, but probably not. They WILL be in contention, POSSIBLY a 9 win team. I don't see them winning more than 9, or less than 7.

Aaron Rodgers is not going to start, even after Brett Favre's 25th interception (conservative estimate). He is too much of a demigod in Green Bay. Projecting them to win the Super Bowl is like projecting the Cardinals to win the Super Bowl at this point. I do admit that it is a bit boring, albeit true, that it seems as if Patriots vs. Colts rematch is going to happen in the AFC Championship, although if it is anything like that game last year, it would still be worth it to see Peyton Manning put on Madden-mode again. I am getting pretty excited, the season is almost here.

One more AFC related note: Norv Turner is the ninth worst coach in HISTORY in terms of blowing fourth quarters leads. The Chargers management is looking really fucking ridiculously stupid to me at this point.

I went out to a local bar last night, and lo and behold some Buffalo Bills showed up. JP Losman, Melvin Fowler, and one other guy I didn't recognize came in and had a couple drinks. It was ladies night, so naturally all the girls were falling all over Losman and the two other guys barely got attention at all. I walked up to the third guy (I think it was Anthony Thomas):

Me: Hey man, so how're those pictures doing for you?
Him: (points at Losman) Yo man, he can keep that fucking shit.

We shot the shit for a minute, I let him know that I'm a new season ticket holder and that I was excited for the season and he seemed genuinely happy about it. I never talked to Losman, but I did meet him in downtown Buffalo 3 years ago, and he was a complete douche. I could tell that he has matured a ton since then though.

haha that's awesome. if i ever saw david carr in a bar 3 years ago downtown houston, i would have been arrested for attempting to break him. yes. break. him

I do agree that aaron should get some playing time in Green Bay. Unless Brett turns it on in the preseason i doubt he will do much more than he did last year, which is plenty for the postseason this year. Maybe we wont win the division, but we can be a wildcard superbowl champ.
