So, I found it kind of odd that Tony Romo is Hispanic. I mean, I know that Hispanics can be white, but still...if you were a Mexican flipping through channels and saw a Tony Romo commercial followed by 'nfl latino!11,' that would not seem very effective to me lol

Romo sounds pretty Hispanic-ish to me...

So... yeah what happened to this thread?

Anyways, Saints won their first game, although I'll admit against a team that's having its problems, but a W is a W and this will definitely boost their confidence.

Packers also won... somehow. I'm just glad Washington won't sweep the NFC North after seeing my Lions lose so badly to them =(

Yeah this thread is dieing. But the Packers game was huge, and it was nice to see that the bears lost, and the lions didnt do anything so its all good. the Vikings won't do much so im not worried about them. We get koren robisin back after a suspension this week and hes a decent kick returner, and along with williams we should be set for special teams. No more woodson punt returns. Speaking of woodson, he's just been amazing lately. a Pick, fumble recovery, and TD all against the skins...nice...very nice

I think the Lions have the best chance of challenging the Packers, but not this season, I'll go out on a limb and say 8-8 for the Lions, sorry Jon Kitna :(

Also, your sig should say Packers 5-1.

I'm so angry. I just got back from the Eagles game and I was so upset when the Bears scored that LAST SECOND TOUCHDOWN. I thought they had it for sure...WHY did they have to do this??????? Everyone will be talking about this one, i'm sure.

Well not everything went the Packers way this weekend, but they didnt play so nothing could go seriously wrong. If the Broncos hold onto this game, the ravens lost, so the packers power rankings should shoot up a tiny bit. On Fox sports they were ranked 8th!!! ---8th!@@!@!@! WTF they are 5-1, and the team they beat, the redskins are 9th. The chargers are infront of them, the ravens, the jaguars????? WTF! On espn they are 6th so its not as bad there. =But the ravens lost so that will help, and again hopefully broncos win. Cowboys, well gratz for beating another 2 win team, we'll go mono y mono Nov 29th. As for us, and ive said it before we've beaten much better teams, the giants, chargers, eagles (lol at loss today), and the redskins.

@TSO as for my sig, that was actually preseason and then they lost the 3rd preseason game and i basicly gave up on this site so i dont feel like changing it, and if i did it would be 15-1, our final record.

The Packers don't have a running game and it's kinda hard to say they're better than the Cowboys when they lost to a team the Cowboys demolished (the Bears) while the Cowboys' loss is to arguably the best team in the league.

At any rate, lol Steelers.

We need to overhaul our offensive line; Jansen and Thomas get injured like every fucking year and we don't really have much depth (we have fucking defensive tackles playing on the line).

Gosh darn... Steelers should have won easy. You don't have Big Ben throwing the ball more than 25 times especially in a cold place like Denver. That O-line really needs to get itself into shape, even if Ben is hard to tackle, even he will eventually be on the ground.

As for the Lions, yay :)

there is no team in the league that can contain the Patriots offense - simple as that.

and there is really no team in the league that can contain the Patriots when it's on the field 2/3rds of the game.

so I don't put the onus completely on the defense - the Patriots are on another level, and there's nothing that can be done.

the fact is, even if you assembled a team completely made up of All-Pros, and gave them team chemistry and great coaching, New England would still rack up 28-42 points.

they. are. that. *******. good.

my issue is the fact that our offense is absolutely terrible. and no, jason campbell is *not* the problem you idiots - he did throw some terrible passes, but he is suddenly not a bad quarterback - there have been some awful qbs that turned out pretty good - i hear that "Favre" and that "Aikman" person was a real terrible qb when he started out, for example, and they had a bit (to say the least) more talent than what we have.

Santana Moss was a fraud his entire career; the minute you actually start focusing on him, he disappears (or gets injured) - in NYJ, his life was made a lot easier by Coles (who is a quality receiver who actually catches balls over the middle!). in essence, he's good enough to beat single coverage, but not good enough to succeed when he's the central focus of the gameplan. oh yes, isn't that what's usually called a "#2 receiver?"

Same with Randle El, though he's not hyped as more than a #2. Lloyd and Thrash are crap, though I respect Thrash in terms of the effort he gives; if you put him in Lloyd's body, he'd be a pro bowler or somewhere close to that.

Cooley is great.

The line sucks; not having draft picks (and really, it's not the loss of 1sts that hurt the line, it's the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounders where you build the line) sucks. Samuels is a franchise LT, the rest probably need to be cut except maybe Thomas (if he can stay healthy, which is a pretty big if) and Heyer (because we don't know what we have there).

we got robbed in the Portis/Bailey swap, and though Portis has been good for us at times, the fact is a good organization would have made Betts the #1 and we would have gotten at least 90% of the production, while trading Bailey for an extra 1st and 3rd, thus getting Sean Taylor and (don't remember who else was good in that draft other than Cooley tbh) another quality player. (and betts was quite productive in the year before, i think he averaged over 4.7 a carry)

in the long run - this shows that the Patriots are just better, from the owner to the janitor (i bet their janitors are better than ours), they are better than the other 31 teams. we do have a decent nucleus, especially considering our lack of drafting, we have a young QB that has the tools and the mental makeup to be successful, and we have a lot of young talent on the defensive end, though we don't have a franchise LB or DL.

if we could just focus our efforts towards 2009 or 2010, rather than trying to plan for now now now, then we'd be a SB team by then, but this win now crap is stunting our growth.

Oh yes, Gibbs is a truly bad playcaller and game manager now (meaning he shouldn't be coaching!) but he is still pretty good at building an organization, finding talent, and motivating players. (if he were to stay HC, that should be *all* he's doing). Whoever builds the 2012 SB champ (if anyone). Washington Redskins will note that Joe Gibbs built the foundation for that team.

blagh blagh blagh patriots nuthugging I'm still sticking with the defending Super Bowl champs. I don't give a damn how much the Pats are dominating. Bill Belichick is a big asshole who continues to throw it deep from shotgun 70% of the time in the 4th quarter with his team up 35+ and goes for it on every short 4th down like it's Madden, big deal. You can't fault the Colts for playing much better competition thus far through the season not to mention playing without their future HoF WR (and their second-year breakout RB for two games) half the time. They're still getting it done on the field.

Besides, I'm hoping for karma to bite the Patriots in the ass they way they're rubbing it in peoples' faces right now showing absolutely no sportsmanship in the game. Colts crush them, Brady goes down for the season during one of his late 4th quarter statpadding TD throws from inside the 5, whatever. Don't give me that "Belichick is just proving they don't need to cheat to win" crap either, that's like me getting a speeding ticket for going 40 in a 25 zone and then trying to exact revenge on the local police for catching me doing something wrong. Belichick acts as if a great injustice has occured when he's really the perpetrator.

I'll give them credit for continuing to win, but that's about it. In the end all that matters is the Lombardi Trophy, we'll see if their oh-so-unstoppable team doesn't slip up along the way.

Time to bring football back to michigan lol, at least a little. it's been impressive

Considering the crap the University of Michigan's been pulling this year, Lions needed to step up. :P

i dont think belichick would have the balls to be playing brady for statpadding IF colts have crushed them already at that point. as you can't really 'statpad' if you're already out of it.

also it's not brady's fault, you'd rather have like rodney harrison accidentally tackle belichick on the side as he misses addai on the sideline or something and end up breaking belichick's ribs

The pats can do what they want when they want till anyone stops them. Belichick is an OG. Brady is a stud and Randy Moss + Wes Welker makes db's look silly. Their defense is stout. They the best team in the NFL.

The giants are 6-2 and although I'm a fan of the giants I'm still not impressed they haven't done anything spectacular. But Giants vs Cowboys week 9 will be a big game for the NFC.
