Damn. Thats worse than Joey Harrington 1st quarter of any game.
Well, there was that one game against my Bills where he posted a a perfect 0.0:happybrain:
Kinda like what his former team is doing. Let's go Jets! If you're the team that lets the Phish win a game, we'll...ummm...have to sweep you again next year or something, I guess...

Ok, you can call me a sore loser, bad sport, idiot, hardnosed fan...

You got that right.

Looks like Dallas shut Favre down...

blagh blagh blagh why be sad about sean taylor

Why be sad? Well, it's still a very tragic circumstance. The man had finally turned his life around in the past year or two, became a loving father and was a rising star on one of America's biggest stages. No, I didn't personally know him, but knowing him as a football player and glimpses of his personal life from teammates is a lot more than I know about random Joe Normal who died of a heart attack in Iowa last weekend. And the malicious gunning down of a man in his prime is obviously more devastating than a 95-year-old great-grandmother who's lived a long, fulfilling life and is ready to move on.

Shut up you two.

I'll agree that there was some spotty officiating last night, especially the TO-Harris fumble. There's no doubt in my mind that there was no reason to call that play dead on forward progress, TO had just caught the ball and was headed backwards out of bounds... where's the forward progress? That ball should've been live, and therefore should've been a strip and Green Bay ball going the other way.

This was obviously a winnable game for GB, but like it's been pointed out a million times, Favre was 0-8 in that stadium. The injury was a tough break, but I have a feeling he might start the game next week just to try out the arm and keep the streak alive.

There's spotty officiating in every sport, there's nothing you can do about it. It's like the weather, just ride with it.
Or get pissed at it like Washington in Remember the Titans.

*coughs* super bowl xl *coughs*

Take the Belichick mantra (barring the cheating): prepare for next game.

The thing that surprised me the most about yesterday's game had to be Aaron Rogers. He looked terrific. He had great mobility and great accuracy. He really caught me off guard when i saw how well he played against the Dallas Defense. But we saw the blue print of how the game will look if they meet in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how much better Greenbay can do on defense after seeing them once and after their some of their starters come back from injury.

I remember sean taylor.
i remembered seeing him once, but i didn't really pay attention to him.

Anyway..
Who thinks saints will chance into the playoffs?

I'm still a big saints fan (my family lived in NO during the whole Saints Revival after Katrina, they help out with Red Cross and that gang) but I think their chances are probably wildcard at best.

I really do love the team, Colston and Brees in particular, but they're going to need an awful lot of luck. It's solid, but with competitors like New England and others on the opposite side, I don't expect to see them winning past 1st round.

But hey, we can always hope.

AP didn't get shut down. When someone gets hurt you can never say they got shut down. The Packers massacred Vikings, yes, but any decision about AP is inconclusive.

Heh, by no means was Favre shutdown- HE GOT HURT IN EARLY IN THE 2ND QUATER. look at last week he threw for 381 yard, and 0 in the entire first quater. Yeah he had a shitty first quater, but it wasn't his fault. Our line was just banged up, and as i've already said basicly the entire face of our franchise was out. No one called the Colts unlegit when they lost to the Pats? they had offensive problems. Thats easier to overcome especially when you have peyton manning than defensive injuries. Yes i know the colts had these too. It forced us to back off and not just try to knock out the recievers, which cost us alot. And the fact he is 0-8 in dallas doesnt mean shit. He was winless in denver too until overtime and 82 yards later he had a W. america's team is going to get lit up by God's team come championship game.

5 of 14 for 56 yards, no touchdowns and 2 picks and a qb rating of 8.9

pretty sure he got shut down

God's Team is the Lions why the fuck would it be the Packers

also, just because the rest of your team is getting shut down does not stop Favre from getting shut down fucking seriously

what a waste of my 600th post >:O

Your hypocrisy is astounding. Think before you post.

Shotgun sigging for stupidity.
8.9 equates to pure and utter phail in my book, unless you're on some weirdass grading system where QBs rate out of 10.

hey hey...
Did we all forget Peyton Manning's 4 INT first quarter?

lol @ god's team.
Arceus doesn't like football.
I mean..Brett Favre and the Packers are my favorite team of all time...
But I still know the Patriots have the Super Bowl won.

I was looking for a place to see the game so I missed the first quarter.
But...when I did get to it I did see a short pass to Greg Jennings from Aaron Rodgers and he just put the juke on Dallas' defence. it was NICE.

Even with this loss...
Who at the beginning of the season expected them to be 10-2?
Let alone even win 10 games total.

Yeah but the thing with Manning is that we don't have any dumbasses trying to defend him after each and every game and give some bullshit excuse as to why he sucked.

I'm at my last fucking nerve with Washington.

They simply seem to have fucking brain cramps every play, our O-line is shit, and we play like we don't know the first fucking thing about football

and this is how you honor your fallen teammate? Wellington Mara died a couple years back and the next game the Giants won 36-0; I guess we can't muster up the same level of fucking heart for a fucking teammate you played with every day for 4 years.

We should have fucking destroyed them, and what do we get? Portis going 25 carries for 50 yards (I don't care what anyone says, Portis is a shitty running back who was a product of Denver's system who makes EVERY back look good), 3 turnovers, and defensive breakdowns everywhere.

It'll be years before the Redskins are any good. And when I say years, that could be fucking decades.

Of course, if anyone with a brain (people who don't exist at Ashburn btw) were running the team, this mess could be fixed within a year or two as we *do* have some talent, but see "people who don't exist at Ashburn"

And Gibbs needs to step down NOW. I mean, a record in 4 1/2 seasons of 26-35, 2 losing seasons, and about to be a third? That's pathetic.

Dude you're getting irrational...and that's a horrible comparrison. Wellington Mara didn't play for the fucking Gaints in that game...I'd at least think the lack of Sean Taylor's safety skills could have you know, actually phsyically affected a game....

My point was that if there was any time to cut the inexcusable penalties, costly turnovers, and idiotic coaching moves, and actually play like a professional football team that knows what it is doing, it would have been after something like this.

Look at the numbers.

3 turnovers.
4 trips to the red zone - 1 TD.
4 sacks including a forced fumble.
2 ypc average by your supposed franchise RB, and he hasn't had a decent game in 3 weeks - Portis has had about 3 or 4 really good games, and 7 games I could pay the NFL minimum for.
1 idiotic coaching move that may well have cost us the game (Lindell is a top 10 kicker but 51 yds in the rain on the road is no gimmie)

Now, you argue that its different because Mara did not *play* for the Giants, and maybe that's true. But in my mind, if anything, the greater closeness of Sean Taylor should have produced an even greater positive effect.

Although the Lions lost huge, I'll still give credit for AD for having a good day...

I still have faith in God's Team to make the playoffs.

Lions will make the playoffs thanks to the fact the rest of the NFC is pathetic. Greenbay, Dallas, Seatle, and Tampa win their divisions, and Giants and Lions get wild cards. Lions will probably be an 8-8 wildcard, but it's doable. The not-giants wildcard spot is pretty open though, thanks to the load of suck that the NFC not in Green Bay, Dallas, and NY is.

AFC Is pretty much done. Pats, Steelers, Colts, and Chargers win their divisions, with the Jags and Browns with the wildcards. The Titans and Bills are wildcard possibilities, but the jags are playing too well and the browns have too easy of a schedule to loose their spot, buffalo being the only challenge left.

While I don't disagree with you in any way, you really do have to give credit where it's due. The Bills came into your house knowing full well how fired up your team would be, and we played a hell of a game. Your defense played awesome, not allowing us into the end zone at all. Our incredible kicker (in my opinion, the best in the NFL right now) is the only reason we won the game. That, and our defense stuffed the run all day. I think if you guys had passed more, the game would've definitely been yours.

Meh, with the way the Vikings are playing recentely, I'd say they have a great shot at getting the spot. IIRC the Vikings, Lions, and Cards are all tied for that second spot right now. Plus, the Vikes have a fairly easy schedule remaining (playing @ San Fran, Chicago, Washington, and @ Denver) compared to the Lions, who play Dallas, @ San Diego, Kansas City, and @ Green Bay.

Also, it was a bit dissapointing to see that the Redskins couldn't win one for Sean Taylor, but congrats to the Bills and it also helped the Vikings get into a better position for a playoff spot.
