Yeah, everybody thinks the Red Wings will miss the playoffs this year. They just aren't the same team without Rafalski. It's such a big loss to overcome. They will be lucky to get the 8th seed.
Also, Toronto appears to be a lock for the #2 seed in the east.
Islanders also looking good. I'm shocked the Rangers are struggling to score goals.
Average Age of Detroit Red Wings: 29.25
Popemobile, that joke is old and ain't funny anymore. I expect some originality from hacks fans. Wings be gettin' younger by the year now. Soon you will all learn to fear the name Gustav Nyquist.
Kessel is lighting it up but he's known to be streaky. Though he seems to be way more solid then he has been in the past...hopefully he keeps lighting it up with Lupul. Leafs look good for once.
And Boston players being the top 40 points this season is pushing it.
It sucks that Kesler's first game was terrible because he played pretty well in it.
Looks like Marchand and Seguin are the only Bruins who are going to actually try this year, someone has to get their goals...
It's sad knowing that this is probably the high point of the season for me since neither of my teams have lost yet. It's kinda strange watching the Caps with that Chimera/Laich/Ward line available... the team is just SO much more sound with them to throw out in important situations that don't involve scoring immediately. Reminds me a bit of the Maltby/Draper/McCarty line we had in Detroit when they were young and good at hockey except the Caps' version is paid more and more individually skilled. Top lines kinda look like shit but that's a good problem to have with their personnel. Blueline looks a little better with changes, too... cautiously optimistic.
TO vs Winnipeg was a sloppy ass game but it was really entertaining. Leafs have been growing on me but it was a shame that the Jets threw the game away like that (especially off of Enstrom's stick....).
But it was really cool when everyone cheered for the jets return. Can't remember who said it, but "the Jets are everyone's second favorite team".
Yeah, Toronto seemingly has a pattern we stick to, suck in the 1st, be mediocre in the second, rape in the third with bursts of Kessel keeping us alive. Eh, its worked so far.
If by Red Wings you also include the Hawks, Rangers, Bruins, St. Patricks, and Maroons, then yes.... If you're incurring that the Wings are old, you are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4JJNpo6Vas
