Such a shame that Mismagius does not have the Ghost/Fairy typing in the real game. I mean, it makes sense and all (trickery, etc)
Back to the topic...
Mismagius is given near perfect dual STAB coverage which makes it a prime candidate for a sweeper. The fact that it gets nasty plot and a beautiful special movepool means that it is quite flexible. It can even run a trickscarf/specs set successfully.
105 Special attack, while isn't the greatest, is still good. The perfect coverage and Nasty Plot really help in patching the stat up, anyway.
Levitate + Ghost/Fairy typing give it immunities to ground, normal, fighting, and dragon, which will present itself lots of setup opportunities.
That being said, Mismagius does have its fair share of problems. It would have fierce competition from Thundurus, who is also a Nasty Plot sweeper, and Gengar, another specially oriented ghost-type attacker. While its typing is its greatest asset, it is also its greatest downfall, making it weak to both Shadow Sneak and Bullet Punch. Combine that with its pitiful 60/60 defenses, and it will be severely hurt by even neutral attacks. Its frailty means that it cannot act as a spinblocker. 105 speed, while still great, is not so good anymore, especially with all the mega pokemon running around. The fact that it gets no priority (except sucker punch, but really?) makes it unable to contest with speed ties (such as Mega Pinsir, which can 2HKO with quick attack).
Though its frailty still a letdown, it won't stop Mismagius from becoming a very powerful pokemon.
