Brazil got an strong group. Is Felipão the coach of Portugal yet?
Brazil vs Portugal will be a great match.

We should be able to do our group, but all of them are though opponents, so it will be intresting :)
Also as long England wins their group our round 2 opponent should be beatable

Firstly, watching the Netherlands, I think we will qualify for the next round, although not that easy. Cameroon is our last match and Denmark is our starting match which is in Johannesburg, which is fortunate, cause our 'base camp' lays there.

Poor South-Africa, I think they won't do well cause all their fellow groupe mates are strong lands although I don't know that much about Mexico.

England vs USA in Groupe C is an interesting and cool matchup

as for Groupe F: lucky Italians.. they will qualify easy.

Groupe G is definitely the most interesting groupe imo.
Brazil, Portugal and Ivory Coast are 3 strong lands and nobody knows anything about North-Korea and good luck scouting them hehe

I think Australia got a tough group arguably the most even. Germany are a great footballing nation and excel in tournaments. Ghana have a quality team and will be buoyed by a home continent advantage. Serbia were actually the pot 4 team i feared the most as the have a great team and coach and did very well in qualifying. Last time I expected Australia to make the second round, this time i won't make any reservations.

Man oh man oh man, what a luck. No 'Poule of Death' for the Netherlands this time. No offence, but Denmark, Japan and Cameroon shouldn't be too difficult to matches to win. Poule G is definitely the greatest poule to watch. Brazil - Portugal will be a very interesting match. Poule A is quite close too and the rest is kind of predetermind win for the big countries.

Dont forget Portugal also has the home field advantage... thousands of emigrants xD

South Africa was in the hands of the English and the Dutch. What the fuck are you talking about? Home advantage for Portugal in Brazil maybe, but not South Africa

True, but there are thousnads of Portuguese emigrants in South Africa, especially around Johannesburg. Most of them emigrated during the dictatorship era that lasted until 1975 in Portugal.

I am well aware it wasn't part of the portuguese empire, do you take me for stupid?

Actually im really concerned about Mexico's group. South Africa is the host, and im seriously thinking they will do a few surprises possibly even advance to next round.
Uruguay is a strong team, I mean they have a few excellent players that can totally change the outcome, specially their offensive and with Mexico being weak in the defense spot, I can see Uruguay giving us problems.
Even though France is not on their best moment, they are still France and can win vs anyone.

Even then, im still with you Mexico!

shame argentinas got a weak group.. wanted to see them drop out to show how weak they are

Well, you never know Nigeria and South Korea aren't really the countries that you want to underestimate. Greece too, being former European Champion says enough

Time for a real analysis

Group A:

One of the weakest, but defenitly not the worse one: France will (unfortunatly) probably make it trough, but expect some fight for the second place, it's anyone's to take

Group B:

Kinda like group A, but a tad tougher for Argentina.

Group C:

Algeria is out of it's league. England and the US are favourites, but Slovenia WILL put up a fight. I'd put my money on it over the US.

Group D: Australia and Germany (in this order). Mark my words: australia is going to surprise everyone, even more than in 2006 (lost to the later-champions Italy because of an italian "dived" in the box).

Group E: The Netherlands are one of the favourites to win it all. They'll win the group without breaking a sweat.
Denmark got a lucky break witht he opponents, with tougher ones they wouldn't make it. But like this, they probably will.

Group F: Italy got a lucky break as well, they would probably pass in other groups, but they'd have to fight for it, they are not on top shape.
Slovakia vs Paraguay is a match to watch, should be balanced.

Group G: The group of death. Portugal, Brazil, and Ivory Coast, and the 2nd placed will face Spain. Do I need to say more?

Portugal is well capable on getting the upper hand on Ivory Coast, but it will be right down to the wire. Will be intresting to see Drogba vs Ricardo Carvalho.
Portugal vs Brazil... it's the blockbuster of the group stage. Brutal match, we're 8 months away and I'm alredy eagerly expecting it. Do NOT be mistaken by our last result. Portugal lost to brazil 6-2 in early 2008, but that collided with Portugal's lowest point in the last 10 years. There are no favourites. I believe it will be one of those matches were only the 90 minutes inside the field will matter, and nothing else.
North Korea is a mystery. They had unfabolous results on their quilifying group (second after South Korea), but noone knows anything about them. Not to expect a lot from them, but in a competition like this you gotta be always on your toes.

Group H

By far, the weakest group. It'll be a breeze for Spain. If Switzerland maintains their quilifying form, they'll get second without a lot of hassle (tough they will have to go against the winner of group G)

Here is my guess for the world cup!

Group A

Well, Mexico is not in their best moment, i doubt they can perform as well as other world cups, Group A looks accessible but i'm afraid because South Africa may have a tricky hand from FIFA behind them. France is out of shape, i don't think is as strong as before, but they have some time to improve.

Uruguay is not as easy as it seems, i believe the 4 have pretty much the same chance to advance.

Group B

Even with Maradona there is no way Argentina can't at least get 6 points in this group. Nigeria will take the second spot imo.

Group C

England has a very easy group imo, i haven't seen Algeria though so i can't know. The US has a lot of chances too, i think they are better than Slovenia but we will see.

Group D

I believe in Australia, i really want them to advance. But being cold i believe Germany won't have a problem and the second spot will be for Serbia. Serbia is a tough opponent.

Group E

The Netherlands SHOULD advance. The second i think will be Cameroon, i believe the african teams will be stronger in this world cup, i'm trusting on them.

Group F

Italy, although they sometimes start with some troubles and get stronger in the elimination rounds. The second will be Paraguay, it's a good team.

Group G

Looks tough, but i believe Brazil will advance without problem, and the second as i have said before will be Ivory Coast, i think it's now or never lol they have the talent to take this step, of course Portugal is a very strong team, but i'm going to trust Ivory Coast.

Group H

Spain won't have a problem in this group. Honduras is the weakest, but Chile not so, under Bielsa's hand it has displayed some fantastic football in the qualifiers, and i think it is a strong contender, even for Spain. Switzerland looks good too.

Group C

England has a very easy group imo, i haven't seen Algeria though so i can't know. The US has a lot of chances too, i think they are better than Slovenia but we will see.

Algeria is horrible, they'll get out in the first round if they're not out the first they're definitly out the 2nd I'm sure 100% they can't beat USA or England. They've gotten so lucky through the qualifications, They got lucky against Egypt and so.

and in other news
man city beat chelsea, and a bare bones (midfielders in defence O.O) man utd stuffed west ham 4-0
title race on. lets see how chelsea cope with all thier good players playing in africa and see what happens

Here is my guess for the world cup!

Group B

Even with Maradona there is no way Argentina can't at least get 6 points in this group. Nigeria will take the second spot imo.

I have faith in South Korea. Argentina will tank imo. South Korea takes second, Nigeria takes first.

Edit: Oh and GO NORTH KOREAAAAAAA.

i would love North Korea to get through, partly because i want S korea and N korea to face each other.. that would be epic :D, and if they did means a good team would go out.

Yeah i also feel empathy for teams from Asia (including Australia), it's just i don't believe they will make it through, mostly N. Korea, i mean look at their group :/. S. Korea might have better chances and so Australia.

You gotta feel sorry for North Korea, they make the World Cup which is a great achievement, draw the Group of Death and then their Dictator states that they can't broadcast matches in which they lose. Something tell that they won't be watching too many matches.

I feel as if people are underrating Asia football, South Korea and Japan are very skillful fast teams who can dominate games. However they can be weak to physical opponents and both teams don't have good strikers so they are prone to missing chances. Nevertheless, they are still good sides and I expect one of them to make round 2. The form of Park Ji Sung for Korea and Endo/Nakamura for Japan are critical for these nations success.

Australia on the hand are a stark contrast to Korea and Japan as they are better physically and mentally. Australia has become a master at grinding out results and taking their chances whilst the other Asian nations have not been. Defensively we are ok and the form of Mark Schwarzer is the most pivotal factor in making round 2 as he carried us through qualifying.

Overall, I feel Asian nations can present some suprises in the World Cup.
