Really bad week, us losing to Villa at OT, Arsenal winning, Chelsea drawing with Everton was the only good thing this week for us :(

I'm just gonna pipe in and say TOOOOOON ARMMMMMMMMY because I'm so glad we have finally settled down - as a club and a team, and things are looking up. Chris Hughton has instilled organization and a good team work ethic during a turbulent period with Mike Ashley et all, something I was worrying about once we dropped down to the Championship.

This weekend's game is going to be massive, against Middlesborough who seem to like playing away more than at home... plus the derby factor. Them smoggies won't be leaving St. James park with anything but their tails between their legs. 10 points clear at Christmas is all I'm wishing for :D

Should Barcelona win the Club World Cup, they will have successfully won every trophy that they have entered for -- that is an astonishing achievemant.

It's not the champions league or club world cup or anything, but the elimination match for the Europa cup between Valencia and Genoa was really exciting to watch! David Villa's little backheel play in the first half was pretty sick, though in the end both of Valencia's goals were kinda 'eh.' still a fun match to watch

Sporting Clube vs Everton

Benfica vs Hertha Berlin

1st, you bolded the wrong one

2nd, Sporting and Benfica were both top seeds

3rd. this is amazing lol. Hertha was 2nd in Sporting's group, and Everton 2nd in Benfica's group. They should be starting to get tired of Lisbon by now, I guess.

In Herthas group was SC Heerenveen (3th). In The Netherlands winner of the KNVB-beker 2008/2009 and 5th in the Dutch Eredivisie. Now 14th. They've become worse.

I hope HSV beats PSV. I am Dutch, but I hate PSV so much. Normally I think "Dutch clubs far in CL/EL is good for the Dutch football". However, PSV and Feyenoord are exceptions. I think PSV wins in Eindhoven and HSV in Hamburg. Ajax-coach Martin Jol coached HSV before Ajax.

FC Twente, not my club but better than PSV. I hope they win from Werder Bremen. Ajax won't win (Juventus) so I hope FC Twente wins the EL if Ajax won't. Twente has a good opponent.

Ajax has the hardest opponent possible (Juventus, I see Juventus winning). In Turin/Turijn/Torino, Juventus wins (3-0). In Amsterdam, Ajax wins if they are motivated and play offensive (1-0). Ajax won't advance. It's a pity the European adventure of Ajax has to end that fast.

Ajax.

STUTTGART v BARCELONA

Great, Barcelona get probably the easiest draw. Stuttgart shouldn't be a bad side, but domestically they've been as piss poor as it gets in the Bundesliga. Barcelona to go through, two heavy defeats for Stuttgart.

OLYMPIAKOS v BORDEAUX

Bordeaux take this comfortably if they can get through the first leg not behind. Olympiakos are the other weakest side in this tournament.

INTER MILAN v CHELSEA

Tough game, but I think Chelsea will knock out Inter. Avoid defeat away and I'd go as far to say it's a sure thing. If Chelsea have a full squad I think they're my favourites to win the whole thing.

BAYERN MUNICH v FIORENTINA

Interesting one. Logic says Bayern Munich, but they've clearly not been at their best - while Fiorentina have been playing above themselves lately. I still reckon we'll see Bayern get through though.

LYON v REAL MADRID

I think Real Madrid will be happy with this one. Lyon have done well so far, but I just don't think they're strong enough to keep competing in the latter stages of the Champions League now, and it'll show here.

CSKA MOSCOW v SEVILLA

Lame tie. I think Sevilla will get through over the two legs, but whoever gets through is out next round anyway.

PORTO v ARSENAL

Arsenal got a decent tie. I'll say it again, avoid defeat in Porto and they're through. Even without van Persie I think they'll outclass Porto in London.

AC MILAN v MANCHESTER UNITED

Who didn't see this one coming? Beckham makes his return to Old Trafford.. I wonder how much I'd get for predicting a Beckham free kick to knock out United at Old Trafford in the last few minutes? AC are doing okay now, but I'll still say score at the San Siro and we're going through.

Manchester United
Chelsea
Arsenal
Barcelona
Real Madrid
Sevilla
Bayern Munich
Bordeaux

All too familiar, but with no Liverpool. English winner please.

Man United losing 3-0 is rather hilarious, without that defence, they are useless. Just hope we can capitalise on this against Hull and not lose like last year. Liverpool result didn't surprise me considering how bad they've been playing, but they still need to get back into gear if they want any hope of even Europa.
EDIT: Arsenal 3-0 against Hull, very happy, were lucky with the penalty being saved but still definitely deserved the win.

Rafa won't get a sacking 'coz Liverpool are in a financial crisis as well as a losing spree. I hope Chelsea lose today, 6 point lead is bad for us, injuries suck, we need Neville-Vidic-Ferdinand-Evra defence ASAP or Chelsea will win the title easily.

Neville is terrible. O'Shea or Brown are better for the right-back position.

So, today's Premier League results:

Wolverhampton 2-0 Burnley
Everton 1- 1 Birmingham
West Ham 1-1 Chelsea

First two results were pretty expected, Wolves win was important for them, and Everton really would have wanted a win to help them, but in their current form, its not much of a surprise. Chelsea result was unexpected, and very helpful to Arsenal in closing the gap, still need to keep up the pressure and not lose when the big games come around, but I'm starting to feel more positive than I was a few weeks ago.
