Nope. It was Gomes. It's already a stretch that a defender scored a goal but it'd be kinda stupid to have two defenders in the offensive.
 
No surprising results yet... Although I did feel Austria played pretty well against Croatia, and could have drawn it at the end.

I loved Podolski's second goal against Poland, the accuracy was perfect.

That was a great game, definitely wasn't Italy's night the ball wouldn't go in the damn net
I don't think the Dutch will win, but they've probably qualified from the group of death though which is a feat.
 
Buffon decked one of his own players before the play in which Holland scored began. The Italian defender on the floor was playing every player on the pitch onside.

The referee made some very poor decisions that night. The flag went up once when it shouldn't have so it kinda balanced it out. Holland were all over the Italians like body hair with or without that goal.

He's off the pitch, therefore he is not playing anyone onside. Van Noobelrooy was offside.

2nd and 3rd were great goals though. Wanted Van Persie and Kuyt to score though.

Spain are looking pretty good too, 2-0 up against Russia after 49 mins, David Villa scoring both. Torres and Villa are tearing the Russian defence apart.
 
No, if you walk off the pitch you are still playing them onside, the rule was designed to stop defenders just dropping off the pitch to make a player offside.
 
I actually was afraid "we" would play defensive so Italy would get chances and scored, but after the third goal I knew we'd win. With the current team I can see us winning this. 3-0 is pretty good ^^
 
If Panucci was off injured with consent from the ref, horseface would have been offside but Panucci was off the pitch from his own momentum.

Waiting for Fabregas to do something beautiful.

I only watched the first 15 minutes of the game, and from where I was watching the play seemed to favour the Russians in an attacking sense. They were all over Spain on the counter attacks, but the finishing product lacked, indefinately. But it is good to see that Spain are living up to their standards and expectations.

Russia are missing their playmaker, Arshavin, and their main striker, Pogrebnyak.
 
After seeing Russia play today like that, makes you wonder if they really deserved their spot over England. I'm pretty sure England vs Spain would've been a heck of a lot more even.

Lol, the last goal in the injury time already showed how rubbish those referees really were... they would've still won, but Fabregas was completely offside.
 
Good win for Portugal - Deco scoring the first under 10 minutes, scrappy looking goal. Ronaldo scored in the 63rd minute with a quality finish. Then, he controlled a long-ball that left the defenders to dry, came one-on-one with the keeper and unselfishly squared the ball for a simple tap-in by Quaresma. They've now guaranteed themselves a spot in the Euro 2008 Quarter-Finals.
 
You forgot Sionko's 17th minute header which was a very good finish. And the commentator was right, that final goal makes the scoreline look far too comfortable. It was a close match and the CzR played well.
 
I never mentioned it because I wasn't particulary trying to report the match as a whole, but Portugal's success only.

Meanwhile, he definately makes sense with that saying.
 
You guys forgot to mention the result: 3-1, for anyone who wasn't aware of it.

Deco: 1-0
Sionko: 1-1
Cristiano Ronaldo: 2-1
Quaresma: 3-1

Anyway, for those who say Czech played well: The only danger they invoked were by free kicks and corner kicks and honestly that's not even good playing, while Portugal's was a lot more technical and amazing overall.

We now lead with:

Portugal - 6 pts.
Czech - 3 pts.
Switzerland - 1 pt.
Turkey - 1 pt.
