Pokémon Store Event

Get down to a participating GAME store now to pre-order your copy of Pokémon Platinum, and begin your search for Giratina! You will also be able to get Shaymin distributed to your copy of Pokémon Diamond or Pearl for the first time ever!

Not only that, but between 4th - 18th April participating GAME Stores across the country will be running events where you can have your face painted, get your balloon Pokémon, and meet some of the Pokémon characters, all in store!*

Get Shaymin, the mysterious Pokémon!

How to get Shaymin!

*You must have a Nintendo DS and either the Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl version of the game.
*You can only get 1 Shaymin on each Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl Game Card.
*Make sure you've obtained the Pokédex in your game and that you don't have more than two Wonder Cards. If you do, you'll need to delete one to make room.
*Start your Nintendo DS and launch Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl. Then simply select "Mystery Gift" on the game menu that appears before loading your game and indicate your wish to receive the gift via wireless download.

So, awesome. We've got another event in the UK, so we can get our hands on Shaymin. It's also not as half arsed as I thought it'd be, since there is actually going to be other things to do by the looks of it, with mostly the same things that were at the Darkrai Event last year.

So far I think myself and Toothache, along with some other friends will hopefully be making the first tour date at the Trafford Centre in Manchester. So if anyone's going to that we'll see you there. I'm also going to try and make it to at least one other Manchester Event (most likely the Manchester Arndale since that's where I'll want to pre-order Platinum anyway) so if you're going there let me know.

This should be an excuse for us UK Smogoners to have a meet-up!
 
Awesome! I've been looking forward to one of these events again; the last one I went to was the one in Sheffield for the release of Manaphy in Pokémon Ranger. I think I will attend the Sheffield event again with friends or the Manchester one as I'm visiting my auntie there sometime in the holidays.

edit; that reminds me, some of the enlisted GAME stores are unlikely to actually perform the actions they appear to have promised; such as a custom chocolate Pokéball (former gift) -- I was excited to see that last time. ;-;

It's annoying how you can't pre-select natures (etc) for Shaymin as I am sure people would like to do so for competitive Wi-Fi uses.

edit 2; I'd be happy to do a meet-up at either - Sheffield most likely, though.
 
Eh, unfortunately I am waaay to busy to even consider trecking down to Manchester in a weeks time (sorry guys =(), but it is awesome to see that the Camberley store it doing it too! ^_^ I will hop down there are pre-order Platinum, grab my Shaymin, and then see if there is anything else to do there!

EDIT: If anyone is planning to go to Camberley (lol) please do tell me!

Well, Spain had theirs announced recently, for GAME stores and Germany for McDonald's stores (lol). Maybe you'll eventually get it someitme later in the year...
 
Gonna head up to manchester with Havak on the 4th. I might bus it down to the Notts events too since it's only 20 minutes away.

Why HELLO!! Pokemon Event?! In my backyard?!

I will have completed my Platinum import by then too! I wonder if this Shaymin will come with that flower thingy.

Is anyone else likely to show up in Guildford? If so, we can arrange a meet up or something.

Do you get the figurine if you order Platinum off the game website?
 
I can get to Guildford easily, so I might meet up with McGraw and Dan Dan there. Twashy, you should see if you can get there! If you catch a train to Reading, we could go from there or something, I don't know,it would be cool if you could, though.

So yeah, change my vote to Guildford ^_^

(anyone else considering Camberley could get to Guildford too I think, the train station is right next to the shopping centre, and I think that it goes direct to Guildford!)

Ohh, sweet! Lucky for the UK guys! I wanted to get the Event Shaymin, but nobody is willing to part with one. Maybe one of the European guys will be kind enough to share. :)
 
So I just stand anywhere in the store and use Mystery Gift? That's pretty cool, I would have been put off if I had to stand in some huge line full of 10 year olds.

I'll be at the Newcastle one.
 
I'm definitely going to the Kingston one. Haven't played Pokémon for a while not (a year or so XD ). Will we get Shaymin or the event thing to go and get shaymin?
 
It'll be basically the same as the US Shaymin, it'll be a Wondercard. Once activated you'll go to the PokéMart and there will be a Postman inside. Have a space in your party and you'll receive Shaymin at Level 50.~ You can soft-reset for Nature and IVs.

It's not 'just to get Shaymin'. I'm having friends over the night before, we will get drunk on Jack Daniels and have a good time doing other things. Then we can go to the event on Saturday, and do whatever else there is to do in the Trafford Centre.

And I thought you had endurance!

It's like, 60 miles for me on 2 trains to get to manchester but it's worth it if I get to throw up in Havak's friend's front garden again.
