lucario as a check

:ss/Lucario:
Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Extreme Speed
- Meteor Mash
252 Atk Life Orb Lucario Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Sylveon: 484-569 (122.8 - 144.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
This is the only calc I need to show. Obviously Lucario can't switch in but it easily OHKOs (if it hits) Sylvion in return with Meteor Mash.

Chandelure @ Choice Specs
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball
- Trick
Chandelure checks Sylveon, as Fire Blast does a lot of damage even after a +1 boost from Calm Mind and Sylveon won't have time to set up again once Chandelure is in. Flash Fire gives immunity to fire type moves, and trick can prevent Sylveon from setting up again or locking it into one of it's offensive moves. Chandelure's presence by itself already forces Sylveon to wait until it's weakened to attempt a possible setup, or else it can get punished easily
+1 16+ SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Chandelure: 114-135 (43.6 - 51.7%) -- 12.5% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Chandelure Fire Blast vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Sylveon: 156-184 (39.5 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Toxic

Bronzong is as straightforward as a counter gets; it can switch into any move from SubCM Sylv and come out on top, avoiding a 2HKO from +1 Mystical Fire after Stealth Rock damage at full HP and easily crushing Sylveon with a Heavy Slam.

+1 16+ SpA Sylveon Mystical Fire vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Bronzong: 128-152 (37.8 - 44.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Bronzong Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Sylveon: 332-392 (84.2 - 99.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Silvally Dark (Silvally-Poison) @ Poison Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 176 HP / 228 Def / 104 Spe
Impish Nature
- Multi-Attack
- Flamethrower
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Poison Silvally does very well versus Sylveon so it's a counter.

0 Atk Silvally-Poison Multi-Attack vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Sylveon: 350-414 (88.8 - 105%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
16+ SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 176 HP / 0 SpD Silvally-Poison: 73-87 (19.4 - 23.2%) -- possible 5HKO
+1 16+ SpA Pixilate Sylveon Hyper Voice vs. 176 HP / 0 SpD Silvally-Poison: 110-130 (29.3 - 34.6%) -- 9.2% chance to 3HKO

Those are the relevant calcs (Hyper Voice is slightly stronger than Mystical Fire). Silvally will either OHKO or 2HKO Sylveon who cannot even 3HKO back usually after a boost. You outspeed everything up to Jolly Sir Fetched which includes Sylveon. The EVs maximize physical bulk which is necessary for opponents like Pangoro and you don't need any investment to beat most Sylveon (who hurts you the most with Psyshock anyways, which targets defense).

The nickname may help trick your opponent into staying in as you look a little like a Dark Pokemon.

LEVITATING (Jirachi) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Healing Wish / Trick
- U-turn
- Fire Punch / Trick

One of the many fun mons that are arrived with shifts, Jirachi finds itself being a versatile mon in the metagame. We'll be looking at its classic choice scarf set for this week with how consistent its been with the usual serene grace shenanigans. Good luck! Submissions will end Saturday.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Body Press / Brave Bird
- Spikes / Defog
- Taunt / Brave Bird
- Roost
252 Atk Jirachi Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 78-94 (23.3 - 28.1%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Jirachi Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 31-37 (9.2 - 11%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252+ Def Skarmory Body Press vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 102-120 (29.9 - 35.1%) -- 19% chance to 3HKO
-----=====-----

While Skarmory really doesn't like Trick, Skarmory still completely walls Scarf Jirachi and can KO it after 3 or 4 Body Presses. Fire Punch does about 23% to about 28% depending on the roll, so Skarmory is free to Roost up in the meantime, meaning Skarmory, while not a hard counter, is still a Counter to this week's victim. Even when tricked, as long as Skarmory is around full health when tricked, Body Press will still KO Jirachi before Fire Punch can KO Skarmory. However, it should be noted that Skarmory can not sufficiantly take on Jirachi unless Body Press is ran, and it's best to avoid getting tricked in general, so make sure you scout for Trick. One more thing that also should be noted is that Skarmory can probably PP stall Jirachi's Iron Heads before Jirachi can flinch down Skarmory, due to leftovers.

:chandelure: doesn't mind getting tricked by jirachi as it uses a choice scarf itself, chandelure also resists the bug- and steel-type options of jirachi
and jirachi, when it uses fire punch, strengthens chandelures fire-type attacks. however chandelure has to be wary of iron head-flinches from jirachi,
but in overall chandelure acts like a very strong a great offensive check to jirachi.

calcs:
252 SpA Chandelure Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Jirachi: 284-336 (83.2 - 98.5%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 108 Def / 68 SpDef / 84 Spe
Careful Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Knock Off
- Parting Shot
- Toxic

Incineroar is a counter to Scarf Jirachi. Incineroar can take many hits from all of Jirachi's moves due to Intimidate and being resistant. Flare Blitz has a 43.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rocks and Knock can help removing its item. If Jirachi U-Turns into a Incineroar check, use Parting Shot to gain momentum and gain a better match-up with the decreased attack, or Toxic to cripple. U-Turn can wear down Incineroar over time, so Wish support is very helpful.

-1 252 Atk Jirachi Iron Head vs. 248 HP / 108 Def Incineroar: 36-42 (9.1 - 10.6%) -- possibly the worst move ever
-1 252 Atk Jirachi Fire Punch vs. 248 HP / 108 Def Incineroar: 22-26 (5.5 - 6.6%) -- possibly the worst move ever
-1 252 Atk Jirachi U-turn vs. 248 HP / 108 Def Incineroar: 42-50 (10.6 - 12.7%) -- possible 8HKO
0 Atk Incineroar Flare Blitz vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 290-344 (85 - 100.8%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Hi, this might seem like a weird submission, but it's a Pokemon I've been using a lot recently (for some reason) and it happens to be a hard check to scarf Jirachi.

Druddigon:
sprite.png

Walmart Garchomp (Druddigon) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Claw / Filler (Toxic, Dragon Tail, Taunt)
- Earthquake
- Glare
- Stealth Rock

Look, I know this isn't exactly the most common Pokemon, but Druddigon is surprisingly decent. It's main purpose is to check and chip down a lot of common Pokemon like Krookodile (which this spread is designed to outspeed once paralyzed), Incineroar, Scyther, Barraskewda, Cobalion, and Doublade, while getting chip on U-turn/Flip Turn users. It can also work as a 1-time check to physical breakers like Tyranitar, Heracross, Lycanroc, and Terrakion. Being able to spread paralysis is also great for speed control. In most matches, this thing will usually chip down an Incineroar or something, get rocks up, paralyze a check coming in, and generally gets something done. I'm using it on a team that utilizes paralysis spam+Pokemon that take advantage of the speed control (Crawdaunt), and Druddigon fits well on it.

It also happens to be a great check to scarf Jirachi, since it punishes it for attempting to Iron Head flinch you down, chips it if they click U-turn, and can 2HKO it back with Earthquake. It's not a counter since Jirachi can eventually wear you down (though you wear it down faster) and can cripple you with Trick, but if you need a surprisingly good rocker and a scarf Jirachi check, Druddigon may be worth a try.

Edit: Adding replays and calcs as requested.

Calcs:
252 Atk Jirachi U-turn vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Druddigon: 54-64 (15 - 17.8%) -- possible 8HKO
252 Atk Jirachi Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 160+ Def Druddigon: 93-109 (25.9 - 30.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
Note that Jirachi also takes roughly 29% (1/6 from Rocky Helmet and 1/8 from Rough Skin) of recoil damage due to Rough Skin+Rocky Helmet, so you end up KOing it if they stay in trying to flinch you.

0 Atk Druddigon Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 170-200 (49.7 - 58.4%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO

Reserving Silvally Steel
silvally.png

Silvally-Steel @ Steel Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 24 SpD / 60 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Defog
- Toxic
- Parting Shot

Silvally's greatest niche in UU is its incredible role compression and felxibility, allowing its EVs to be tailored for specific threats. It just so happens to be a great defensive check to Jirachi, for the following reasons.

It's immune to trick, meaning Silvally could abuse this momentum drain by poisoning or using parting shot on the switch in. Even with no investment, flamethrower is able to easily 3hko Jirachi while a defensive spread of 252/172+ allows it to withstand 4 iron heads in a row. The speed investment lets it outrun Jolly Incineroar and everything else below, while the rest of it is dumped on SPDEF to stomach stray scalds better.

While Silvally can disway Jirachi from using trick, Jirachi could still beat it 1v1 due to random flinches, which is why I am nominating this set as a defensive check.

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Toxic / Heal Bell
Umbreon is a check to hax Jirachi. This set varies from the standard specially defensive set, and opts for physically defensive EVs to take minimal chip from U-Turn (possible 5hko) and Inner Focus over Synchronize to completely counter Serene Grace haxxors. In return, Umbreon can do up to 90% damage to Jirachi with Foul Play, and freely use Wish and Protect to heal up when Jirachi pivots out. However, Trick from Jirachi can cripple Umbreon easily, therefore it is only a check.
252 Atk Jirachi U-turn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 88-104 (22.3 - 26.3%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Jirachi Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 75-88 (19 - 22.3%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Umbreon Foul Play vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Jirachi: 260-308 (76.2 - 90.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sticky Hold
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power

Gastrodon acts as a counter to Jirachi (as close as you can get to one, anyway) thanks to its ability to shrug off countless Iron Heads and U-turns, tank Fire Punch all day long, and immunity to Trick via Sticky Hold. Of course, if you're obscenely unlucky, Jirachi can actually flinch you to death - it needs to get 12-20 in a row though, depending on rolls, so it's extremely likely you'll just recover once and stall it out of Iron Heads or just smack it back with an Earth Power.

252 Atk Jirachi Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Gastrodon: 51-60 (11.9 - 14%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252 Atk Jirachi Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Gastrodon: 31-37 (7.2 - 8.6%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Since same pokemon can be posted twice but with a different set, Im gonna put Toxic + Protect Chandelure, despite Jirachi being inmune to Toxic, is just to use the standar set and do not come with something very specific for Jirachi.
On the actual metagame I dont find on Chandelure a real reason to run Flash Fire instead of Infiltrator or Flame Body, flash fire was better when Sun Teams were pretty common, Flame Body allows you to have a chance to punnish Jirachi by any move that it uses, it can take Steel/Bug/Fire moves without problem, and pressures to switch to avoid get KO by Hex/Flametrower, Protect lets you chip with a posible burn even more, also Chandelure doesnt lose that much getting a Choice Scarf, as it allow it to actually outspeed Jirachi and force even more to switch, so, Flame Body Chandelure is a check to Scarf Jirachi.

Offensive Seismitoad is a check to Jirachi. It doesn't have the Leftovers recovery to give it assistance against Jirachi's U-turn pivoting and Iron Head flinches, but if it doesn't get flinched too much or too worn down, it OHKOes with Earthquake. Pretty simple matchup, really.
