So, bumping this cause there's really no other place to put it. I was just looking through some RMT's, and for some reason I noticed that a team had a rather large Weavile weakness. I looked through some others, and several of them shockingly had large Weavile weaknesses..
The Weavile set I'm referring to is
Weavile @ Life Orb
Naure: Jolly
EVs: 252Atk, 252Spe, 4HP
Ability: Pressure
- Swords Dance
- Night Slash
- Ice Shard
- Low Kick
A large number of powerful mons in the OU metagame all just happen to share a weakness to one of these attacks...it's uncanny really. The Latis, Gliscor, Natty, Burungeru, TTar, Sazandora, Terakion, Rankurusu, Borutorosu, Garchomp, Heatran...this isn't a list of everything obviously, just some big names off the top of my head. But seriously, considering how overlooked Weavile is it's actually really impressive.
Now, I'm not at all saying Weavile is the next big thing. It still has all the problems it had last gen, and some new ones too just for good measure(Roob's Mach Punch comes to mind, and it doesn't do much vs. Rain), but it is overlooked and quite a few common, functioning teams just happen to be lacking one of those counters, and this lets Weavile do some obscene damage..
So I'm not really sure how to end this post, I didn't really bring up much 'discussion', it was more of an observation that hey, some teams out there are massively Weavile weak
EDIT: I guess CB Weavile has some merit too. I was thinking purely in terms of sweeping, but running Pursuit over SD lets you pull off some cool trapping shenanigans, and while you won't sweep with good prediction you can still murder tons of things hoping to switch in on you. Just something else to consider
