weird habits that you have

If I get my socks wet or my shirt stained I have to immediately or as soon as possible change out of it. I can't ever leave the kitchen without checking the cupboards I know have nothing new in them, nor the fridge, and if I use the faucet I'll walk away then swing back to make sure I turned it off, check the fridge door too. I'll check the door to the house when I leave to make sure it's locked three or so times. Whenever I download something, I double check the download box and the folder its in when I finish just to make sure.

I could go on.

please do. the kitchen thing in particular sounds a lot like me, haha.
though i don't usually lock the door i live in the suburbs and in a pretty safe neighbourhood at that.

After I'm done eating something that has a wrapper and drinking something out of a bottle or can, I will also stuff the wrapper inside the bottle or can before throwing it away.

(This is going to sound very creepy) I like to rub people's arms because I like how skin feels. When I was younger, I would do it randomly and sometimes to strangers, not complete strangers though. Like if my dad was talking to someone, I would wonder what their skin feels like and just start rubbing their arm. People didn't mind since I was just a kid and my parents would explain it, but as I grew older, I realized it was getting really creepy and forced myself to stop. I still catch myself doing it though, not to strangers, but to my family and to some of my childhood friends, mostly due to knowing subconsciously they won't care.

My habit is to touch everything to feel its texture :S doesnt matter if i know its pretty hot or is a knife, i just have to touch it xD

a can of tea from the vending machine
this is a thing?

minr is a tad hard to explain, but basically I will chatter my teeth together whenever I'm thinking of a song, moving right across the 4 big teeth (the two middles and the two surrounding those) on the top row and when I get to the 4th tooth I'll go back to the first. I chatter the song basically, moving across for every note. If when the section/tune ends, it doesn't end on the last tooth, I will do it again starting from a different tooth to get it so (but still only doing the big 4 teeth).

When you're walking alone and you start to become selfconscious of your hands (you know what I mean right) I do a lot of odd things. I'll put my hand under my shirt and touch my belly button, or I'll start stroking my chin with the thumb on my right hand with the rest of the hand curled up (thumbs up position)

oh and when I'm alone (occasionally even not, but this is only really at home so it's just around my family) and not wearing any trousers I'll subconsciously move my hands around my pubes. TMI maybe but hey what's the point in not answering the topic

Whenever I take a phone call that isn't in my car, I tend to pace around a whole lot and wave my hands as if the person on the other line can see me.

I do this too. But it's not just on a phone call, I just compulsively pace. If I need to think, I pace. I will find myself with my brain turned completely off just walking around the house, and there will be times where I catch myself doing it, and wonder both what the fuck I'm doing, and how I ended up aimlessly walking around in the first place.

I think the whole phone bit though stems from the fact that I feel like it's really rude to just answer my cell and gab right in front of whoever I may be around.

i have my hand in my pants pretty much all the time at home, it's comforting

I'm a pretty flexible guy so I sometimes make a pillow out of my arms when lying down and playing some games with the controller on the back of my head.

This one is probably pretty well known for those of you who are on IRC... but every time I get up in the morning, the first thing I do is go play a Mario game. It's like as if it's part of my breakfast!

I also pace constantly when I'm in thought, usually with a laptop in hand. Because of this, I actually usually post on Smogon and IRC outside when the weather is good!

i must have some form of mild paranoia or OCD because i always check my keys before, as and after i go out of the door to my flat. i'm also guilty of checking the fridge and cupboards despite knowing nothing of worth is in them, and i pace around a lot in general (including during this post).

i'm also a really picky eater who will hardly ever try anything new - i also refuse to eat mushrooms, cheese (unless it's on pizzas in non-copious quantities for some reason), mayo and other whitish/yellowish things. it's not even about the taste, they just look gross to me.
(i have a feeling this topic almost merits a thread on its own)

one thing i've been doing for some years now is jerking back my left shoulder, which kinda makes a muffled knacking sound. not sure if that's healthy, though - there's probably something displaced there which just happened at one point. maybe i should get it checked out because it sure doesn't sound normal, although it hasn't been causing any trouble so far.
as for other body-related things... i love looking through my stomach hair for some reason. it's soft and fluffy and forms a comfy canopy over my belly when viewing down its surface. i used to enjoy parallax scrolling over it as well, but the small hairs were more parallel (can you even say that?) back then.

i probably have a looot more habits, but i cba thinking of them or listing them atm

I tend to place me left arm on my head when I'm watching something or thinking whilst sitting.. Not my hand, my arm. Yeah it looks weird.

Whenever I get my hands dirty, I have the tendency to wash with soap and water twice to be sure I got rid of all the dirt. I think part if this has to do with my slight OCD, but I don't know. :p

Cracking my wrist like a knuckle.
This. After playing video games or on my laptop for too long, wrists crack and it feels pretty nice. Also, neck, back, waist, honestly I'll pop any joint. Though now when I pop my neck too hard, my body goes loose for a second it's so weird. Still feels good but I think I'm going to accidentally kill myself one day.

you need to see a chiropractor

when I'm queuing up for something I usually pace about and walk around in a circle until I get engrossed on what's on the internet(smogon, mind you) on my phone

oh my god i do this, also i do it on irc

Haha, really? I just wonder if it's a good or bad habit as much as it's inherently weird.

Also, I CANNOT walk long distances or wait long times without donning the earbuds and listening to music. I'm also rather passive to activity around me, so if you see me on a basis, I'm usually that guy who always has his earbuds on. I also like walking in large areas while I do this; all in all, I just wanna spend energy, I guess.

i talk with my hands, but mostly because i'm italian.

if i'm in a train of thought or just really bored i'll stroke (wrong word?) my beard/stubble. LN knows what's up.

Back when I used to have a glorious facial rug I'd do the same thing, except I'd comb my fingers through it like a comb. I soaked up the discomfort it brought out in people.

Skulls for the skull throne?

When i think things over and realise i need to double back when walking (i daydream an awful lot when not placated by the internet), i always act like i'm checking my phone before doing so. My logic is that i think people will think i'm receiving new directions. I have no idea if it actually works or not.

i tend to bite my nails quite a lot, more often than not in awkward situations..... idk it's comforting and i'm also guilty of being very self-conscious of my hands, which may be why i do it so persistently to occupy myself

also i dunno if you can really classify this is as a habit but occasionally my right eye involuntarily flickers for 3 or 4 second periods at a time and i kind of lose my bearings when it's happening
