What's your lead?

Gengar @ Focus Sash
- Destiny Bond
- Counter
- Explosion / Shadowball
- Hypnosis

yeah im cool

That or Swampert.

mines is milar to this

Gengar @ focus sash
destiny bond
counter
hypnosis
sucker punch

before you ask why sucker punch, it helps me destroy sashed weaviles.

weavile used night slash/pursuit
gengar hung in, used counter
weavile hung in.
gengar used sucker punch, weavile fainted :p

I usually use a hariyama lead,

Hariyama @ flame orb
Adamant
248 hp, 252 atk, 8 speed (it needs to survive a few hits with its base 55 speed, 8 evs is for other base 55s)
Fake Out
Close Combat
Facade
Bullet Punch
.

just going to chime in, I like Knock Off/ Whirlwind over CC if your leading with that. Just because its more general and can help against a CS Salamence or knocking off lefties on DDGyara, or Whirlwinding something away. I use 252 Def EVs over 252 HP eves to keep Burn damage down but still take a hit, but thats just me.

I use this lead btw, but with Knock Off over CC

the reason i use Knock Off instead of CC on that set is because imho, Hariyama wants high defenses to stand out. the defenses drop from CC is really unfortunate for him.

Ralts Level 1 @Focus Sash
Nature: Whatever
EVs: Whatever
~Destiny Bond
~Trick Room
~Protect
~Will-O-Wisp

He leads for my Trick Room team that I like to call "Team of Misfit Pokemon Nearly All Have a Weakness to Ghost or Dark". I think the strategy is obvious. Trick Room the first turn. If they switch out or just don't attack me the first turn then I'll burn them. If I'm unsure if they'll switch out I'll Protect. If they attack, well then I'll take it and Destiny Bond them the next turn for the kill. So far it's tricked nearly 80% of the people I've faced. :P If a Sporing Breloom is their lead then I'll switch to Hypno to take the Spore thanks to Insomnia. =]

Emm, Ice Shard screws poor Ralts though. =[ Oh well, the team I use it on isn't for serious play. Just for messing around. It's so much fun sweeping a team with Cresselia or better yet - Clamperl.

Smeargle Level 1 @ Focus Sash
Nature: Brave
EVs: 252 Atk.
IVs: 0/31/0/0/0/0
~Spore
~Trick Room
~Endeavor
~Ice Shard / Extremespeed

the strategy is pretty self-explanatory. hopefully i dont have to outline it for all y'all.

On my best team I use

Machamp, Jolly nature 252atk/252spd/4hp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: No Guard
Dynamicpunch
Earthquake
Ice Punch
Thunderpunch

Outspeeds and OHKOs specsmence, outspeeds most Garchomps, outspeeds and 2HKOs bulkydos. Dynamicpunch is an allaround good move for taking out bulky walls, he's sturdy enough to take a non super effective hit or two and dynamicpunch confusion adds a bit to his durability.

I usually have one of the following leading for me, depending on what I'm using (I have lots of Pokemon):

Timid Sash Gar
DD Gyarados
SpecsLuke
Ambipom w/ CB or the Al Gore set

I've been using a CB mamoswine for a few weeks, but my old lead was

Gengar @ wide lends
Focus blast
Shadow Ball
Willowisp
Hypnosis

Beat pretty much every non weavile lead. Gyarados leads switch to electivire because they're so smart, then get burned.

Smeargle Level 1 @ Focus Sash
Nature: Brave
EVs: 252 Atk.
IVs: 0/31/0/0/0/0
~Spore
~Trick Room
~Endeavor
~Ice Shard / Extremespeed

the strategy is pretty self-explanatory. hopefully i dont have to outline it for all y'all.

Wouldnt this happen?

Smeargle hung on with its focus sash
Smeargle used spore

Smeargle forced a switch and used trick room

Smeargle goes first and uses endeavor
Smeargle gets KOed

It's true that it still spored one poke and endeavored another but..

I think its Trick Room~Spore/Endeavor~Ice Shard (you have immunities with Extremespeed)

I use a Double Powder/SleepSeed Jumpluff in my ParaFlinch team.

Jumpluff@Wide Lens
Jolly~252 HP/252 SPD/4 Def
U-turn
Sleep Powder
Stun Spore
Leech Seed

This is what I tend to lead with. >>

Butterfree@Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Speed/4Hp
-Sleep Powder
-Stun Spore
-Thief
-Tailwind

Sleep the opener, pray they switch, Stun spore the next guy. If that one manages to get an attack in that activates Focus Sash, I'll Thief it and generally end up stealing a Life Orb/Choice Scarf from stuff. If the item doesn't end up hindering my ability to change attacks, next turn is generally my using Tailwind.

One time I did steal a Leftovers from a Blissey. That kind of pissed my opponent off. >>

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Adamant
212 HP / 16 Atk / 180 Def / 100 Speed
~Dragon Dance
~Taunt
~Waterfall
~Return

Return/Waterfall Gyarados! :o

I use the Standar Bulky Gyara, DD, Taunt, Waterfall and Earthquake, I like leading off with him for intimidate, taunting stealth rockers and it can grab Motor Drive boosts early on in the game.

You should try U-turn on butterfree

Manectric @Life Orb
Thunderbolt
Overheat
Hidden Power [Ice]
Substitute

Nature: Timid
EVs: 6 HP/252 Sp Atk/252 Speed

I'm trying this out right now. I've seen far too many Bronzong and Gyarados leads for my liking, so I figured why not try to counter them both? I don't think many people know that Manectric can pack Overheat, so it's a good surprise to all those Steel leads. Since I'm always scared of an Electivire switch in from Gyarados leads, I run Substitute to see what Gyarados will do. If they Dragon Dance, I can OHKO next turn with Thunderbolt. If they switch to Electivire, I get a free Sub and a nice hit if they decide to stay in. If they get very ballsy and go on the offensive, it gets interesting. HP Ice almost always scores a OHKO on Salamence and Garchomp, so that's a plus. This is all theory, though...

I use this Shedinja:

Shedinja@Focus Sash
Will-o-wisp
X Scissor
Sunny Day
Protect

If your opponent has no move to hurt Shedinja then they switch and you have a free Sunny Day - you can then get a Will-o-wisp off while the Focus Sash absorbs the hit. You then switch out and sweep with Chlorophyll.

If the opponent does have a move to hurt you (you can almost always predict which pkmn can) then you can switch to a pokemon that is immune or resistant to the hit.

Metagross does come to mind as a good leader because it can take hits like a champ and can hurt almost anything badly if you have the right moveset. Its low speed seems like a non issue when you have 295 defense with no EV's and a neutral nature and awesome defensive typing with a number of resistances and only one common weakness in earthquake. Hes weak to fire but fire attacks that are coming from anything not named heatran are almost unseen outside of the occasional hidden power or will o wisp.

I use this set.

Metagross@leftovers
Adamant 252 atk 252 spd 6hp
-Agility
-Meteor Mash
-Earthquake
-Thunderpunch/Grass Knot

Not anything original, but its very effective.

My lead on my other team is this:

Salamence @ Leftovers
Adamant@ 120 HP/252 Atk/136 Spd
Dragon Claw
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Fire Blast

This Salamence is somewhat effective in what it does. Most people use Specsmence leads, right? The trick is, the trainer will put a Blissey/Empoleon to take a Meteoric Swarm, but I DD up instead, and proceed to OHKO them! Skarmory and Bronzong are covered by Fire Blast, which is better than Fire Fang IMO.

@Tailwind: It seems to me that the 252 Attack is a waste when your only attack is a 20 BP non-stab attack. If you want to go with with that moveset, I suggest moving the Attack IV's to HP and Def/S.Def.

My lead is:

Butterfree @ Focus Sash
Jolly
20 / 31 / 31 / 8 / 31 / 31
252 Attack / 252 Speed 6 HP

Sleep Powder
Stun Spore
U-turn
Rain Dance

Celebi @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Modest
EVs: 200 HP / 128 Def / 48 Speed / 124 SAtk
- Leaf Storm
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave
- Hidden Power (Ground)

Struggles against fast Ghost/Dark leads (Weaville/Gengar), effective against bulky ground leads. Obviously they're not staying in to take a boosted grass attack, so they switch something that resists the potential attack - the problem is, said pokemon usually doesn't like Thunder Wave (Heatran or Salamence in many cases.)

Life Orb DOES look like a bad idea, but I need it to hit key OHKO benchmarks (for example OHKOing Weaville with Leaf Storm)

My new test lead:

Yanmega@Leftovers
Modest Nature
252SAtk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
-Protect
-Hypnosis
-Air Slash
-Bug Buzz

pretty good lead IMO does have problems however with Weavile and other Ice Shard users, usually can outspeed almost anything after a protect+speed boost. Air Slash and Bug Buzz hit non-Blissey pokemon quite hard usually around 45-70% on neutral pokemon and OHKO to those who fear it.

The best lead I ever had is this.

Mamoswin@Choice Band
252 Attack/216 Speed/40 HP
Jolly Nature
-Ice Shard
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang

I have KOd Salamence after intimidate with this, which shocked my opponent sooooooooo much. I really don't know whether I need Ice Fang. Just can't think of anything better. Too bad he can't learn Fire Fang, at least I could deal with Bronzong better.
