Sticky X/Y Sprite Project

Looks cool but right at the beginning the ribbon arm is way too thin.
It may be thin on the in game, but it should be slightly more than a one pixel line.
Other than that it looks great!
 
Although I am new here, I have a rudimentary knowledge in the world of spriting... Thus, I ask if there is anything I can do to help? Oh, I do have some 64x64 sprites of Vivillon, but am hesitant to post them; someone's already doing Vivillon, and they are only 64x64. Oh, and it's the Polar form, too.
 
It's mostly Quality Checks and animation at this point BluRose if you see a sprite and say "I'm confident I could make this sprite more like an official one" go ahead and post it, and if I like it I'll add it in.

In terms of Vivillon yeah we don't need alternate versions, but I've allowed others to use mine to make alts. The other versions have no competitive use, just aesthetic difference.

Looking good (hadn't realised that Pancham's front had been updated). However, I noted that Pancham's palette is nothing like the palette for Pangoro (which I think is an amazing sprite, btw).

Noticed the front sprite is a little off on the eyes, the legs and the belly design

The sprite gave him the legs of a pikachu which is off. Also his ears kinda looks like a square. Might be other stuff that are off as well. Sorry if Im bombarding you with alot of stuff but guess its better to fix it early on then later.
 
oh princessofmusic you missed a spot. The 3 circles on his sheath have a design on them but your sprite doesnt have the design. Also not sure but the color of the sheath is pretty dark compared to the official art and ingame sprite. But other than that I like the changes

EDIT: Finished an early version of vivillon's front sprite. Wanted to know if the wings are good.

Feel free to do more movement if you want to pull a rare animation I suppose.

Looking pretty good so far, but as Layell said, Vivillon is going all over the place it its sprite, which is a little abnormal. Try to keep it in around the same space, as otherwise it flying around in circles will likely get distracting.

Also, just a heads up that I started working on a new Frogadier sprite at school today, mainly because the program I have access to at school is an inferior spriting tool and I'd rather not have to wrestle with it on a bigger sprite like Mega Aggron. No idea when it'll be done as it's currently a side project, but just thought I'd post this as an early notice for anyone who was looking to possibly do the sprite.

Besides the obvious circle it's flying in, that has been mentioned twice, I would make movement in the legs and antenna.
 
Something about the new head looks... Odd.

I kinda liked the old head better, but I like the new body more than the old one.
Do u have backsprites for both so I can see which is better from behind?

Well no, since at the time I was still choosing which sprite to work on. But probably by now, hopefully I can come into terms in what ever I choose to go for. c:

Wobblebuns, I like the new Mega Gardevoir sprite better, it has a much better pose and expression, but I think it does need some fixing. The main thing is that the eyes are too squeezed, perhaps try raising the hair a pixel or so so it has more room. Also, the spikes on the right side of its head shouldn't be so visible, even though it's looking mostly straight ahead. Either less emphasis or just a removal would be fine.

You may want to make some other changes based on the official artwork as well. Please don't make the legs visible though, that would make animation way much harder.

About Barbacle, the top left arm on the backsprite is completely wrong. It should be facing right, not left, and the base should be obstructed by the blue rock-thingy since it's leaning forward. Just a small issue for whoever gets a chance to fix it (RedRooster, Layell, TeraVolt, I dunno).

EDIT: viperdk1, I do like the extra detail on the blade, but I'm not all that fond of the rest. The colours are generally brighter on sprites than on 3D models, so the hilt was better before. Also, the extra lines emphasized some of the crookedness of the blade, which needs fixing now. And for some reason you made the eye backwards? Since the edits require modifying only one part that doesn't even rotate, I'd be happy to fix the animation myself (it'll be easier than pasting it in frame-by-frame).

Well as with PoM, I also liked the old sprite more overall. However, I do am really fond of my new sprite's body positioning but not so much with the head. So for now, I decided to stick with the former and work from there.

So here is what it looks like as of now:

  • Changed the head to look like she's tilting her head up more
  • Slimmed down the curved horn
  • Arms repositioned and slightly modified
  • Lengthened the torso
  • Thinned out the dress and gave it more flow as LU and PoM suggested (basically based the dress in accordance to the official artwork)
I tried to make Mega Gardevoir's face more lively and hopefully not as flat as the old one. I'm not quite sure if I succeeded in both. :I
 
Woah that gardevoir looks so graceful (might be rivaling mega ampardos o.o) Looking forward to seeing it finished up!

Anyway, I'm really surprised I nailed vivllion's wings on the first try. Tbh, I was bracing myself for a ton of changes for her xD Well heres her fixed front sprite.

Gave the antennas some movement now. The legs were always moving but since she was all over the place on that first try it was almost impossible to tell. I'll get her back sprite out soon. She doesnt need a rare animation right?

Also fixed up mewtwo Y. Gave his arms and legs some movement on those couple frames legit mentioned it really was an improvement. Also added some slight curving to his tail when it goes up but its not that noticeable. Didnt want to throw everything off with adding more frames >.< But I'll make that tail do the wave for its rare animation to make up for it.

Wobble I don't think you noticed what I did during my edit.

The white of the dress parts and the skin parts were different white colours so that when recolouring the animation for the shiny we didn't have to destroy ourselves.

Here I'll post this older one so you can see what I mean.

It's a cunning exact palette swap.

If it helps for you to just do the shiny version first and then recolour it back to normal, also do feel free to have the pink on the eyes and body be the same, they do seem the same in everything I've seen, and will help keep this madness under 15 colours. In addition I can't think of many sprite that would have such a small variant of pink.
 
It seems like the wings of vivillion kinda rotate a little bit when it is opening its wings.
Not sure if that's on purpose or im just seeing things...

Great job on Gardevoir btw!

Luckily the head and body are easy changes in the animation if it gets changed. Anyway, I finished up vivllion's back sprite. Definatly easier than the front since I dont have to deal with the body at all.

If you want to make alts for her, I dont mind doing another vivllion with its other wing design since its pretty much a cut and paste. *cough haunter :3 *

Sorry! I am well aware of this edit and I was actually working on changing the palette prior to the post. But anyway, here's the edited version with the shiny. I also did some minor changes in the horns and the splits of the dress.

After weeks of essays upon essays and projects upon projects, I am done with almost all of the needed school works. Now I can focus on things that matter more. :D

First thing in line is the Phantump sprite. Although it has already been approved for animation, I felt that it was outdated and needed a few improvements and so...

  • Modified the positioning of the body and the head
  • Added the tail
  • Added the markings near the eye and on the branch pigtails
  • Snatched Used Galifia's Trevenant color palette
  • Made the shiny version
 
Minor edit to the Espurr sprite to change the palette (the eyes are pretty much fine, it's meant to look that creepy). Think the shading needs a bit of work still (particularly on the back sprite), but that's not my forte D:

EDIT: Just wondering, but for Meowstic, would it be better to edit Noscium's versions of them and create backsprites of those? I feel that their proportions are slightly better than what we have at the minute (if you look on your PokéDex, you'll find that the head is more of a sideways oval rather than the circle heads we have on the sprites now - not to mention their body is of a similar size in terms of width to Espurr. Our current sprite seems too small). Just my 0.02p (no offense Quanyails)

Done a small edit to Pancham's front sprite too - probably still needs a bit more work, again.
