There's so many Legends and Dragons in mine. I wonder what that says about me.

How much does Wooloo stand out when next to these? Probably not as much as it would if it weren't for my first Shiny (Snover) and the Ninja Mimiga (I don't care that it's supposed to be a soccer bunny. It's a ninja from Cave Story in my heart. <3) Also, with five Pokemon from Gen 3, you'd think it's from nostalgia. Most of them are but I didn't find out about Shedinja until I plaued Diamond.

I hate you.
Hey, at least I gave you 18 different Pokemon instead of either one/two or something that wasn't Pokemon. And I did think of doing that with:

1. Arceus/Silvally
2. Digimon
3. Super Smash Bros characters
4. Type Specialists (Gym Leaders, Elite Four, Champion, etc.)
5. Being semi-serious but only putting down pure/mono-types
6. Eeveelutions including fanmade ones I like
7. CAPs

EDIT: And if anyone wants to make their own joke, saved you some time:

I was expecting to have more ghosts on this list to be honest :P. Marshadow could have gone in fighting, freeing up space for another ghost, but it's my favorite Pokemon and favorite type so it deserved the ghost slot. :P

Looking over the list to see which gens I like most:
  • Gen 1: 3 (not counting Alolan Raticate)
    • contenders that didn't quite make it were :kabutops:, :nidoking:, :zapdos:
  • Gen 2: 0
    • :ampharos: and :scizor: were close for electric and bug, though. Also fond of :xatu: and :misdreavus:.
  • Gen 3: 1
    • :metagross: got beat out in its type slots, and I'm also fond of many from my original Ruby roster: :solrock:, :mawile:, :cacturne:, :walrein:
  • Gen 4: 2
    • :garchomp:,
, :rotom:, :drifblim:, & :torterra: were other contenders
  • Gen 5: 1 (not counting Galarian Darm)
    • other contenders are :chandelure:, :golett:, :genesect:
  • Gen 6: 3
    • other contenders: :hawlucha:, :pumpkaboo:, :goodra:, :greninja:, :klefki:
  • Gen 7: 4 (includes Alolan Raticate)
    • other contenders include
      , :buzzwole:,
      , :decidueye:, :guzzlord:, :naganadel:, :zeraora:
  • Gen 8: 4 (includes Galarian Darmanitan)
    • other contenders: :runerigus:, :cursola:,
      , :grimmsnarl:, :grapploct:,
Evidently a bit of a bias toward later gens. A lot of that comes from these gens introducing more ghost types and regional forms. Possibly also because the older mons have had more time to ferment and fall in/out of favor.

HONORABLE MENTIONS:
- Fire: Simisear
- Normal: Dunsparce
- Electric: Lanturn
- Poison: Vileplume
- Dark: Sableye
- Ghost: Banette
- Fairy: Mawile

The honorable mentions were pretty close, the other types I feel like the ones I picked are strong favorites of each type. My all time favorite is Hypno.

I really like bugs, with it being the most represented type in the chart. Makes sense as bug is my favorite type.

I COULD BE BANNED!
favorite pokemon.jpg

I only played 4 official games to completion (all GBA and DS games). But I did play a lot of fan games and showdown so a lot of my expirience with this pokemon come from me using them on showdown and enjoying them. My favorite are still Cacturne line (love using them in gen 3), Toxicroak line (especially because of anime), Rillaboom since s/he is my favorite mon to use in gen 8 all around and Aegislash since it just looks so cool while always having some use in OU.

I tried to do a normal one... but aside from some definite favorites there were certainly Types I was struggling with. Not only that, the favorite picks I did have were very basic so I don't think would have added much to the table. However, upon listing my idea of "joke" graphs, one of them I did actually want to do so...
FavTrainerType.png

And even then there were some tough calls. Was thinking of having some share a space, but I'm already pushing what this was supposed to be about so buckled up and made some definite decisions.

I don't know if this happens to everybody else, but my favourite mons are a mixture of designs that I like and Pokémon that have proven useful to me. Maybe it's difficult to explain, but when I feel a Pokémon is somewhat strong or useful to me, its design grows on me. Some of the Pokémon in this list may be susceptible to change, but the ones that are there to stay are Ho-Oh, Scizor, Gyarados and Porygon2, my 4 favourite mons in that order.

I've always liked Scizor. Back in GSC days, the Steel type felt so cool. I didn't know shit about competitive nor in-game inner mechanics, it just was a new typing capable of resisting a lot of shit. Steelix is also a favourite mon of mine, and I was so mad everytime I played GSC because I don't like nicknames on mons, but the earliest way of obtaining an Onix was by trading it with the guy on Ciudad Malva (don't remember how's it called on the english version rn lel), no way I'd travel through the Dark Cave without Flash, and his Onix was named Rocky or some shit like that. Then, I forgot about it in Gen III. I loved its design but the lack of a competent in-game movepool made me choose other mons, and then in Gen IV we all know what happened.

Gyarados is a must. Intimidate and Moxie after Gen V, incredible typing, access to DD, differences between male and female, always a threat, especially in Gen IV, I ran bulky DD gyara with subs/taunt a lot. Zapdos is another 'mon i've ran a fkn lot. Timid, modest, as offensive pivot, bulky with leftys, after it gained static it just became x1000 times better that it already was, random access to heat wave... I don't use Clefairy (trust me o.o), I like its design. Ever since it was Normal type, I just really liked the mon design and still do. This time it has nothing to do with its competitive capabilities. The same can be said about Metagross. It was my main in-game mon in Sapphire and the first mon I hard grinded to level 100 in the Elite 4 (with no lucky egg ;_;), and it was really good in DPPl, but again, purely because of its design. Heatran is a mon i've spammed in 2 millions teams. I like the design and its one of the best Pokémon i've seen in my life in this franchise. Torment, Subs, Lava Plume, Eruption, Magma Storm, Fire Flast, Flash Fire, spa high af, defensive stats high af, specially combined with arguably TOP 3 defensive type combinations in the game, SR, Roar, Toxic, Earth Power, Flash Cannon, Scarf, Specs, Leftys, Explosion, random Z Grass Attack thanks to Solar Beam... This mon is the very definition of versatility. Venusaur is my favourite starter and again, I like how it has gained power over the years until the point it could easily sweep an entire team in sun. I really like mons that are either capable of sweeping opposing teams with ease or, if running a different set, became an entirely different mon, a hard wall, because you can run them however you want. Skarmory is a fkn beast and its design is so cool, Crobat favourite poison type, no doubts, I was doubting between Para and Volca, but I choose Para. He was my first shiny in leaf green, also, I have always thought this mon could be so good if they changed some things about it. Its ability is cool and a Pokémon that has Spore is always useful, he also has some good support moves like Leech Seed and Stun Spore. His attack is not that bad (it learns swords dance, and altho SD is not usually that useful on slow mons, this can be bypassed with Spore), but it fell to mediocre after the power creeping...

Diophantine

Banned deucer.
DenisTheMenace is one of my favourite Dark-type too!

EatVONjWoAIP06K.jpeg

This changes all the time. Sometimes CHATOT is my favourite Normal or Flying type. The new Slowking looks badass but I haven't used it, as does the new Weezing and Centiskorch. Fire cycles between Rapidash, Ninetails, Arcanine and Reshiram. Zekrom and Magneton are contenders for Electric. Ghost cycles between entire Gengar line, entire Misdreavus line and Duskull.

So I was bored and found another template out there for these images. This one doesn't have a tool (so it has to be filled manually), but it makes a distinction by generation (as well as including a Legendary category).

The template can be found here.

And here's my version. Again, with Puyo Puyo Quest card borders:

Just to clarify:
- The Ecolo doll is just there to describe that... well, with no Dark-types in Gen I, I cannot pick one.
- The red X describes that, while there ARE options, I don't like any of them. Not even the most bare of sympathies.

Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs superfan

Here's my list. I'm a big fan of Pokemon that played a big part in my childhood and carry nostalgic attachment to me, and this list takes into account evolution lines and no repeats. This list is always changing, too, so keep that in mind.

Foongus: Very memorable because of a now dead inside joke
Volcarona: It's just awesome and I love Gen 5, also I use it on Showdown often
Feraligatr: Arguably my favorite Pokémon of all time, and I can't pick a favorite evolution stage
Meloetta: Best Mythical ever released, no cap
Pichu: Many reasons combined into one (Smash Ultimate, Pokémon Ranger 3, etc.)
Espeon: It's a long story, and a very "Epic" one at that
Infernape: Fully evolved form of my actual first ever Pokémon
Archeops: Strongest & most versatile fossil Pokémon imo
Flygon: Garchomp is overrated, and Flygon deserves more love
Lugia: SoulSilver nostalgia for DAYS (HGSS into Gen 5 was my prime)
Whirlipede: Fastest Shiny to date (only 2 Friend Safari encounters, equal to 16 full odds in XY)
Crobat: Awesome design, and the second of a Poison-Type Shiny double whammy in my latest SoulSilver run (as a Zubat)
Weavile: One of my best friends's first random Shiny (as a Sneasel)
Chandelure: Like Volcarona, it's just awesome, and that Shiny is LIT (pun intended)
Vulpix-Alola: Favorite regional variant, used it a lot during 2017-19 as Ninetales, etc.
Magnezone: Favroite evolution of an old Pokemon, plus that typing is amazing
Palkia: Same with Lugia, but for Pearl instead, also like it more than Dialga
Togekiss: This thing is so fun and obnoxious to use and I love it

Oh shit we doing this again huh

favorites.jpeg.jpg

-Grass: Torterra
-Fire: Houndour
-Water: Buizel, Inteleon
-Psychic: Orbeetle
-Fighting: Riolu
-Rock: Tyrunt

yes my favorite type is Dark, why do you ask?
