Your most Memorable moment from Gold/Silver

Probably seeing a Tyranitar for the first time. I remember someone in my neighborhood had japanese pokemon cards of the new GSC pokes before I had heard anything about them, and I saw his Ttar card and I thought it looked fucking awesome. When the games came out and I realized how late you get larvitar, I gamesharked so I could get one at the beginning of the game lol.

This is really lame, but it was in RBY as well as GSC, so I'll bite.

When you enter the Fighting Dojo in Saffron, the poster on the right at the back says "enemies on every side!" I use this phrase in everyday conversation, perhaps too frequently.

I would have to say it was when I beat Red for the first time. After many losses (this is before I understood Pokemon really well lol) I caught my LV40 Ho-oh and wrecked havoc.

Naming my rival ??? since that was what came up when you first saw him. Whitney's Miltank for sure, the tedious Goldenrod Tower, and the satisfaction of catching every Pokemon legit.

My most memorable moment was probably in Ilex Forest.

Some may remember that in order to get through Ilex Forest and go to Goldenrod City, you had to use the HM Cut on a tree. Well, I was very young when I first played this, and I had no idea how to use HMs, so I was stucj in Ilex forest for quite a while. Many playthroughs later, I found the HM for Cut and taught it to my Croconaw, went to Ilex forest, and tapped A by the tree. A text box appeared asking me if I wanted to use cut, and I pressed yes. Well, the tree dissapeared and I moved on to Goldenrod City. That was when I finally learned how to get to Goldenrod, and more importantly how to use HMs.

It wasn't a very fun experience, but it sure was memorable. :P

My most memorable moment was in the Elite Four, actually I was facing Lance. Crystal was my first Pokemon game, and this was my first attempt at Lance (and possibly the e4, I dont remember). I only remember that I had in my party a Typhlosion and a Togepi. Tye-Dye being my main party leader throughout the game, and Togepi I was trying to evolve xD. So it's Lance's last Pokemon, Aerodactyl I believe, and Tye-Dye just died. All I have left in Togepi (lvl 30). Now I know the only way to get this thing evolved is to get it to like me, but I feel I have no choice in this situation. In goes Togepi, and...

IT TAKES OUT THAT BLASTED AERO WITH A SUPER-EFFECTIVE METRONOME ICE BEAM! LEVELING IT UP SO THAT IT EVOLVES INTO AN UBER POWERFUL LVL 31 TOGETIC!

...or not. Togepi took a hit valiantly while I used a Revive on Tye-Dye. Typhlosion came in and finished off the Aero with a Thunderpunch. e4 defeated, Togepi never evolves, ever. =[ It was fun though. xD

My most memorable moment was when I was playing my friends Silver version and I didn't know how to really play GSC back then or Pokemon for that matter. And I was just randomly running in the grass looking at all the Pokemon that appeared and one of the three legendary dogs appears and he's all surprised and throws his Ultra Ball at it and used that up + B and hold B effect to make any ball like a Master Ball and it caught Entei. Then an instant later when going through Goldenrod city I go into that area of the grass and right away Suicune shows up, so throws an Ultra Ball, same reaction, and caught.

Now the really amazing part was he started to play it now 'cause I had no clue why he was happy to catch two dogs in the grass, and he grabbed his team from the PC in Goldenrod and got out but went back to the PC because he forgot his HM slave in his party to Cut down trees and when he had to use Cut on a tree amazingly Raikou shows up and he throws an Ultra Ball and catches it and starts screaming that he caught all the legendary dogs in like less than 10 minutes lol.

Back in those years, having all those cool, rare Pokemon were instant popularity at school (unless your area wasn't popular with Pokemon, then no one would give a rats ass what you had lol). But after when I got my own Silver version a year or two later, I realized the point of why he was so happy to get the dogs because it took me like a month to get them all and I randomly got him the 3 dogs in a few short minutes.

Oh good times, good times.

def my first solo run through the game with...togepi
i traded it into the game for my starter at lv5 with shadowball, zapcannon, fireblast, and psychic and just went to town lol
i ended the game with a lv93 togetic it was sick :)

1. Route 27. That music...

or

2. I went to the celebi tour in England, but forgot to bring my game. But I hear the tournament is in rentals from Stadium 2 (I thought I was god in stadium 1 cause I completed Prime Cup Masterball with Rentals, unlocking Doduo speed) so I go up and sign up, hearing to get through the first round I have to beat the computer on Standium 2 on Hard mode. I won, and got a copy of silver which I had to "trade the 30 celebi off" and send it back for a certificate. Screw that! Keeping the game, I soon got way past where I was in Gold with Feraligatr and was using my great Typholsion/Celebi duo. In the tourney, I got knocked out 2nd round by a Wobbufet guy (I was little, I didnt understand "counter" as a move!), IIRC I used rental Articuno, Herracross anddd.... nah, cant remember, bloody a decade ago now (thereabouts).

I do miss the days when individual Pokemon would mean so much to me :P. I was a good hearted kid ;)

My epic shiny collection between Silver and Crystal (not including Gyarados, Ditto from IV-changing glitch or babies from aforementioned Ditto):
Rattata
Raticate
Tangela
Chinchou (the epic bit was that I was just fishing for a normal one)
Togepi (I wanted to breed a Future Sight Togepi for some reason, and this happened)

And a Drowzee that died to "turn-off-without-save" (sister did it)

Also, was fond of the Togepi I got in Silver. Return, Psychic, Sweet Kiss and Metronome. Most epic thing it ever did was Psychic all of Bruno's Pokemon until Onix, then Metronomed Octazooka.

Also, with Stadium 2's library, finding out that Dunsparce learned Rage as its starting move, as a TM and also as an egg move. I just found that hilarious.

And finally, finding out my beloved Yellow Pikachu was actually a girl.

My most memerable moments where beating entei with my cutting feraligatr, i got very proud and told all my friends...before they told me i could have caught it.

Also thinking if i could sneak past sudowoodo at night.

Well, for me, my most memorable moment of my play through of Pokemon silver (9 years old) was when i was training my pokemon, and out of no where, suicune popped up! I was so exited because i had a master ball on me, so i caught it, and gleefully looked at my party so i could begin training him as well, and i checked in my party, i came to find that i already had 6 pokemon with me. I didn't knwo about the PC or what it did, so i thought i lost my suicune and i got really mad. So i was thinking of restarting my game over, but that minute, my friend told me about the PC and i went in it and got my suicune, and happily walked out of the pokemon center, glad that i still had that suicune.

Ah man, i remember the good old days where everyone just played pokemon for pure fun and enjoyment, now everyone just wants to best one another. *sigh* oh well, at least i have memorys...

I never figured out how the P.C. worked. I was really happy that I got to Blackthorn City through the Ice Cave, because it took me hours.

I remember thinking I could get all three starters by resetting my game, getting Totodile and Chikorita (I started w/ Cyndaquil) and traded them to my brother's Silver. Unfortunately, I lost my Typhlosion :(

Also, I tried breeding a Machop from two male Machokes. "WHERE'S THE EGG?!" Ahaha, gooood times...
