Yugioh! TCG Thread

I haven't played yugioh in quite a while and my deck is not only mediocre but very outdated. I would like to keep the common theme of my deck, XYZ, but incorporate them into something that is effective in the game as it is today.

My Deck:

Fusion: 6

XYZ-Dragon Cannon x2
XY-Dragon Cannon
XZ-Tank cannon x2
YZ-Tank Dragon

Monsters:19

X-Head Cannon x3
Y-Dragon Head x3
Z-Metal Tank x3
Fusilier Dragon, The dual mode beast x2
Sangan
Witch of the Black Forest
Ancient Gear Golem
Drillago
cyber jar
Perfect Machine King
Jinzo
Sinister Serpent

Magic: 13

Limiter Removal x2
Frontline Base x2
Dark Hole
Harpie's Feather Duster
Raigeki
Creature Swap
Graceful Charity
Permature burial
Pot of Greed
Mystical Space Typhoon
Monster Reborn

Trap: 5
Imperial Order
Waboku
Dust tornado
Call of the Haunted
Magic Jammer

I am well aware that my deck holds many illegal cards, you do not need to tell me. As for the budget, pretend I have none, and also remember that I want the deck to be an XYZ deck not just a machine deck.

So if anyone can help me with updating/ a major fix up on this deck it would be very appreciated.

Chariot is too good in terms of support for GB in my opinon, mainly because it makes grand mole/ddwl/monarchs inferior solutions to heraklinos. Equite is godly when recycling chariot.

The battery OTK is basically inferno reckless batteryman aa>get 3>activate short circuit(blows up entire opponent's field if you have 3+ batterymen), each AA is at 3000/3000 therefore you can swing for 9000. The deck has tier 1.5 to 1 potential, though we have not seen a batteryman deck succeed at any events yet. A top tier version woulkd include honest and solemn judgement.

Like XC_Hawk said, we're heading to a tournament for the first time Friday. He runs Macro Monarchs, I run Gadgets and there's supposed to be a lot of Gigaplant and Six Sam. What should we side to get around those guys?

My current deck is:

Monsters 19:
2x Green Gadget
2x Red Gadget
2x Yellow Gadget
3x Banisher of the Radiance
3x D.D. Assailant (One will come out for a Drillroid when I get a 2nd)
2x Legendary Jujitsu Master
1x Drillroid
1x D.D. Warriorlady
1x Spirit Reaper
1x Snipe Hunter
1x Neo-Spacian Grand Mole

Magic 11:
3x Enemy Controller
2x Rush Recklessly (Substitute for Shrinks until I get them)
2x Hammer Shot
1x Lightning Vortex
1x Fissure
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Heavy Storm

Trap 12:
3x Bottomless Trap Hole
3x Royal Oppression
2x Magic Drain
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Solemn Judgment
1x Trap Dustshoot

Total: 42

Standard Gadgets really with a little less tech than most. Remove, remove, remove monsters with Magic and Trap.
- Drillroid helps me get over defensive monsters.
- D.D. Assailant, Lady, and Jujitsu help me keep advantage.
- Neo-Spacian Grand Mole helps to bounce back anything that gets in the way
- Snipe Hunter's a pain but can be helpful

I am looking for more Solemns, a Smashing Ground, Shrinks, and another Drillroid

-2 Magic Drains
-2 Rush Recklessly
-1 D.D. Assailant
-1 Trap Dustshoot

+2 Solemns
+2 Shrinks
+1 Drillroid
+1 Smashing Ground

Thoughts?

I have a serious question.

How do you guys think the future of Yugioh will fair?
I've seen the next couple of sets, there are already spoilers out. I have seen the new mechanics, how tuners work, the new type, and frankly...

This metagame isn't going to change.

There isn't anything gamebreaking enough coming out in the next couple of sets to make people stop playing their current decks. And if nobody buys the new sets, konami won't make money, and the game will start becoming less popular. Do you guys get the same feeling from the next few sets?

Psychic monsters are really bad. There are some neat effects, but nothing is really destructive there. It looks like they can't kill anything if they tried. They can only spam pisspoor monsters who don't have good effects. The new plant themes are needed, but aren't incredibly tournament worthy besides gimmick decks. The tuners all seem to have tremendous flaws, and fusion almost never happens outside of gamebreaking lategame finishing blows, like chimeratech OTK. None of the synchro monsters appear to do anything truly amazing, minus a few cards coming out.

So what's next?

Are we stuck playing this (in my opinion) terrible excuse of a metagame full of retarded games where the player who wins the coinflip demolishes the other? This is nothing like yugioh used to be, where you can mill half your deck in the first couple of turns and then kill your opponent in a single swing. I've frankly gotten bored of playing because of the same retarded decks showing up everywhere and not even giving you a chance to get through three turns.

I understand that I can build new decks, or conform to the current metagame and spend tons of money on little slips of holographic paper in order to actually play the stupid game at any sort of real level, but I don't want to. I'm tired of seeing the same stupid cards in every deck.

What do you guys think about this?

Do you think the game is going to stay fun through the next sets?
Do you think the metagame is going to change at all, back to when losing a coinflip doesn't lose you a game?
Do you think it's even possible to keep up to these ridiculous deck standards in order to compete?

I'm just really frustrated with yugioh, I guess.

Thunderpup, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure. The only solution I can think of is a major revamp to the forbidden/limited list, but that would probably create just as many problems as it would solve. I've just gotten into the game, and I can already tell that its much faster in its current state than it was ever meant to be. It seems like slowing the game down would allow for a lot more strategies, but hell, what do I know.

I'd also love it if anyone would take a look at my deck posted a page back, please and thank you

The next format's ban/limit list will determine the game's fate. Also, I highly disagree about tuners. Mind control is totally broken with the theme, and stardust ends games extremely often.

And thank fucking god raiou is being released in November, it will be a savior to the game(to an extent).

I assume you don't know about the new ocg set crossroads of chaos? It has fucking ridiculous plant support that will put the deck at tier 1.

Metagame.com wouldn't exist if Yugioh's support went under. So they wouldn't dare talk about how the game could possibly become stale. They're so influential, if they were to talk about how the game isn't like it should be, they'd be killing themselves.

If they're smart they won't do anything more than talk about what they'd change the ban list too and be vague as to why. That might even be too much.

Slice is right. Depending on how the next banlist looks, we'll see how the game is going to shape up. Here's to banning/limiting to 1 DAD and limiting Destiny Draw to 1 (which would make it only usable in its theme)

Oh yeah cause DAD has gotten on my nerves. Hard to pack and easy to abuse. But also some really good money once you pack and sell it.

So here also is to banning/limiting 1 DAD.

I mentioned the plant support, but tier 1 is pushing it, with the current metagame.

With deck able to stifle it's power early-game, it's going to be a killer casual deck but a weak competitive deck. It appears that the only really AMAZING card to come with those plants is the continuous spell, but then again, with misty, storm, solemn, and trap dustshoots running around, it shouldn't be that hard to stop.

In my opinion destiny draw, allure, trade-in, and solar recharge all need to be limited to 1, and I wouldn't be surprised if allure was banned. Dark already has a crapload of support, a great draw engine is just overkill.
Any thoughts on cyber valley? Other draw engines?

Cyber valley isn't as spammable anymore, due to the last ban list, but it's still pretty ridiculous. It shouldn't leave entirely, if anything.

Unclear how successful plants will be, only about 15 cards from CSOC have been revealed on wikia. Black Rose Dragon looks really interesting for the theme.

I was trying to think of a way to fit Gadgets and Monarchs in the same build. There'd be no Oppression, the deck isn't meant to be anti-meta. This'd be an attempt to make Gadgets their own deck with their own drive to win. Not simply splashing Gadgets and their protection into an anti-meta deck.

The key card of note is Gigantes.

Monsters 20:
2x Caius
3x Thestalos

2x Green Gadget
2x Red Gadget
2x Yellow Gadget
3x Gigantes
2x Drillroid
2x Legendary Jujitsu Master
1x Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
1x Spirit Reaper

Magic 13:
2x Enemy Controller
2x Soul Exchange
2x Shrink
1x Monster Reborn
1x Premature Burial
1x Brain Control
1x Hammer Shot
1x Fissure
1x Smashing Ground
1x Lightning Vortex
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon

Trap 7:
3x Threatening Roar
2x Solemn Judgment
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Mirror Force

Total: 40

Every Monster besides the Monarchs and Spirit Reaper is Earth so Special Summoning Gigantes is easy. He'll work similar to a Cyber Dragon in the sense that you Special Summon him then immediately tribute him off for a Monarch. If you don't have a Monarch, no big deal, he's still got 1900 attack to beatstick with.

Threatening Roars over Bottomless or Sakuretus's because Soul Exchange, Brain Control, Enemy Controller... we want the opponent to have monsters.

~Imagine this~
First turn:
- Summon Gadget, Set Threatening Roar.
Their Turn:
- They summon, you activate Roar.
2nd Turn:
- Enemy Controller their Monster, Sacrificing Gadget
- Summon Caius by tributing their monster,
- Remove Gadget for Gigantes and attack for 3300.

Activate Lightning Vortex ditching an excess Gigantes
Remove it and Summon Gigantes from hand
Tribute for Monarch

This deck seems like it would do incredibly well.

This Friday I'll go to the local with my anti-meta Gadgets and see how it does. If I get destroyed then I'll mix it up and try this build. Oh and guys look at XC_Hawk's deck. It runs well and the Spirit Cards are awesome with the tribute fodder.

I played this game as a freshman-sophomore in high school, and had a pretty substantial collection. I quit when they banned everything. As in, a ban list did not exist, Chaos Control was the best deck, they banned 75% of the cards in that deck, and the game ceased to be fun for me. Haven't touched the game since October 2004. It actually looks like a lot of fun, but no one in my area plays, and MTG is my main focus for alternative gaming.

Got myself a Gold Pack today.Got Jinzo ,Breaker The Magical Warrior and Grand Master of The Six Samurai. The last one is quite valuable I believe. Selling it at a decent prize might be my gateway to affording a Raiza =]

Good pulls, TSK. Shame you didn't pull a crush D:

Petro, I like the concept, but in a ridiculously fast format like this, not having Oppression will kill you, especially when facing Gladiator Beasts. You can cut a drillroid for a third solemn. Three or none is how I suggest running solemn.

I've actually heard from my Yugioh playing friends that the value of Grandmasters has fallen a great deal...also, given the fact that Six Sam's haven't topped recently...

Synchros do have potential to change the metagame - however, I've a feeling that the best Synchro decks will be combos with DaD anyway. The game is in such a state that unless new support is as broken as some of the stuff we now have, you can't build a competitive deck that uses new stuff without incorporating some of the old.

One more thing. The best of the plant support is really a tie between the easy to summon Plant tuner (that allows plants access to the few staple tuners like Stardust) and the 2800 lv 8 beater, because it can be special summoned with both Gigaplant and Lonefire as well as theoretically used for Trade-In. The Continuous Spell card actually forbids normal summoning, meaning that Gigaplants cannot be Second Summoned if they are summoned with that card or with the Lonefire that the card might bring out.

it sucks the Zombie Synchros aren't too good. There is an Il Blud like Synchro but only can special summon Zombies from your opponent's graveyard, so you would have to use Zombie World with it :/ Still not too bad though but would of it have hurt them to include your own graveyard too?

probably. that would be too ridiculous.

call of the mummy > tuner monster > synchro with a zombie searched with pyramid turtle > 2400 beatstick > ss il blud > normal summon > special summon zombie master > summon anything else

uhm
yeah

Just so you people know, synchro dad is the most popular deck in ocg aside from explosion and dark gaia(they have arms hole and dimension fusion at 1). Stardust dragon is rape.
