At first I thought the Water/Ghost didn't look creepy enough to be a Ghost type.

But then...the eerieness of how it looked hit me.
Just like real jellyfish are a bit creepy while still being gorgeous :) They should do these Zoo trips more often, when creating new Pokemon. Great stuff comes from that.

I just felt a little sad for missing the discussion about water = samurai... RL got me, lol. But anyways, I somehow knew I had forgotten a certain Fighting type. Damn you, Gallade, for being so forgettable! lol.

Jellyfish aren't so much creepy as being Otherworldly. If anyone has played Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Ulaoth one of the Eldar beings whos body was modeled after a Jellyfish, was debatably scarier than the Insanity one.

They just don't seem...right. Which is perfect for a Ghost type.

Its a bit odd how we've not had a Dark gym yet.

A dark gym with the leader's ace being the Hydra would have been badass as the final gym.
The pseudo is usually reserved for the Champion or final E4 member (with the exception of Tyranitar, who for some reason was never battled back in GSC).

Gen 1: Dragonite went to Lance, plain and simple.
Gen 2: No one had Tyranitar, but Lance had his 3 Dragonite since there were more Kanto pokemon in Johto than anything else.
Gen 3: Steven had Metagross, and Salamence went to Drake since it had to go to someone.
Gen 4: Cynthia claimed Garchomp.

On a similar note, I'm wondering just how useful Dark typing will be for this Hydra pokemon.

It gives it added advantages against Ghosts and Psychics...that's it. Of that group, Cresselia is really the only pokemon that it wouldn't have been able to otherwise defeat simply with dragon moves.

On the other hand, it grants it resistances to Dark/Ghost/Psychic types, which I guess is useful, but at the same time gives it weaknesses to Bug (U-turn) and Fighting (very common attacking type) in addition to the typical Dragon and Ice weaknesses.

Steel types will probably have little difficulty dealing with it, Scizor especially, unless it gets a fire move.

I'm sure it would see some use in Ubers, however. Dragon is a potent attacking type regardless, and Dark would give it added coverage against particular types.

My sausage is longer... errr... my source is greater than yours... no, mine is better... stuff like that.

A looooooooooooooong and boooooooring story...
oh. sounds pretty fuckin stupid if there arguing about sources.

back to the subject, i get a dark/dragon(please be true) and an electric/dragon to screw around with. this should be a fun generation.

Electric/Dragon? I haven't seen anything like that posted on the sites.

Blue had a Tyranitar in the upgraded E4 in FRLG.

If the Champion or final E4 specialises in Dark, s/he could use TTar and Hydra, which would be terrifying. It'd have to be an upgraded post-NatDex team though, but TrollFreak aren't above giving upgraded E4 teams multiple pseudos, I mean Lance got DNite/Mence/Chomp in HGSS.

What about a spinblocker who can spin away rocks itself? (if the Ghost/Water acts anything like Tenta)
