Nope they have to be met at the end of the day on September 5th.

This means that you have to continue battling.

Rating: (1756+1636)/2 = 1696
Deviation: (1756-1636)/2 = 60

Suspect
Rating: (1786+1666)/2 = 1726
Deviation: (1786-1666)/2 = 60



Not sure of my exact rating down to the thousandth but hopefully I'm eligible to vote as is.
 
Cool at one point I was eligible to vote.

Aldaron, are you SURE we have to keep our ranking good till the 5th? I'm not going against you, I'm just asking if your sure. Because I hate standard and I don't want to go back to playing it, even if it's only for 15 minutes.
 
On previous pages it has been said we need the rating good at the 5th.

I met all requirements on my D is for Douchebag account today btw.
 
Yea, I'm positive that you need to have a rating of 1650 and a deviation less than 60 at the end of the day on September 5, 2008.

100% positive.
 
Yeah it doesn't matter about the 2x Ice Weakness. All you need to do is to survive at least once Ice Attack with Yache Berry, which is easy to do, Sword Dance and Kill. Ho-Oh is 4x weak to ROCK and 2HKO upon switching into SR... It's still Uber.
 
I am going to report final eligibility statistics on September 5th at 11:30pm US Pacific time.

If you are eligible at that time, then you will be on the list. If you are not eligible at that time, then you will not be on the list. It does not matter if you were eligible at any time prior to that time. You must meet the eligibility requirements on the deadline mentioned above.

Since deviation increases a small amount with inactivity, it is possible that you could be eligible now and ineligible on the deadline. Keep this in mind as you manage your ratings numbers between now and then.

Perhaps it says something about the bar set for this test if there are only 26 eligible voters for the entire community.

I really need to pull something out of my ass, stop making any mistakes in any battles, and never get haxed to have a shot at voting. You really can't make the argument that it's a simple "I don't play enough" as I've been laddering every day for 2 weeks, and I'm in general a pretty competent battler. I thought the entire point of the ladder raking was to deter people that didn't play the ladder at all from voting, not to lock out all but the very best competitive battlers. And don't try and say 26 people is more than "the very best of battlers". (reference: Chris is SPARTA is my current ladder attempt account)
 
I'm certain that you do not post here when you meet the requirements. Rather, Doug will run his script at exactly the same time for everyone, and everyone who meets the requirements AT THAT TIME will be allowed to vote.

I'm guessing special permission isn't going to be a widely distributed privelege, but one would assume it would be after September 5.
 
Special permission is going to be extremely rare. Something like, "I qualified on september 2nd at 11am, and at 12:47pm a tsunami destroyed my home, and I have only gotten my internet back now. Only to find that my deviation had slipped above 60".

And it is even less likely to be granted before the cut off date.

if you don't make the requirements on the day, i don't think you're qualified. how far back can you go with the 'i qualified back then' argument? it gets too complicated. what i'm worried about are the rankings of voters AFTER the vote. what if i make my vote being fully qualified and then start losing game after game? am i still qualified by the time the votes are counted?

To simplify the process... you need to satisfy the requirements on both ladders with one account. We are not going to try and figure out who is who by manually matching IPs. If it comes down to the end, and you do fill both requirements on separate accounts, you'd have to apply for special permission Your standings would be taken into account in the evaluation of your application, however.
 
Would special permission include being away for 3.5 weeks of august and then getting back and finding that you will have to build a completely new team because garchomp was on your old one, whilst silmultainiously balancing your social life and your paperound?
 
I'd actually answer that with "If you really have a busy life, you wouldn't have time to play Pokemon".

The percentage of people so busy that they don't have any leisure time, is probably zero. It is certainly far below one percent. Do you really know people that don't watch TV, go to a movie, read a book for pleasure, play video games, hunt, knit, garden, play golf, or partake in any of the thousands of other leisure activities?
