I'm pretty sure gold is often representative of dusk and silver of dawn.

But I'm hoping for GoldenSky and SilverSea myself. It doesn't have to follow the FRLG naming, look at Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.

But what if it is just a Johto remake? We don't know anything about it yet.

I like those games but compared to GS remakes they are nothing.

I know they have Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Distant Land and Faraway Place as PalPark locations. Is it what you were asking?
 
Maybe they will add Hoenn to the mix. Going Johto -> Kanto -> Hoenn.

Thats if the DS memory can take it.

Would be an excellent time for a level cap rise, got bored with 100.

Yes it was. Therefore it's possible that this could be the remake. Even if it's not it was just a thought.

I'm hoping for a little of both, personally.
 
I want a competitive battling game, but we won't get that.

I think this will be for another Wii game, or it'll be a Pokemon game that MAKES us buy the Dsi. It may not be an exact remake of Gold and Silver, but they'll change it so that it only includes Johto and so it takes place during the same time period as Red, Green, Emerald, Platinum.

I'm afford to say it's impossible. It appears to me that 4th Gen is in GSC's timeline (the Red Gyarados newsflash is reason enough to me to believe that). I see what you mean, but don't you think it would be a little lame to give us Johto back... but no Red as the final challenge?

Anyways, I just shit in my pants. I am going to go mental for this if it happens, johto is to the rest of pokemon what jewels are to shit (much more preferrable!)
 
Still i wonder if the pokedex will remain with only 251 pokes or have 251 wth some kanto pokes changed to hoenn or dppt pokes or just a larger pokedex.
 
Im playing my gold right now (yes mine still works) and i pray to god that they change the pokemon in the gyms. The first gyms got a Lv.7 Pidgy and a Lv.9 Pidgotto, How about they use the Jotho pokemon and Jack up the Levels a bit.

But isn't that how is usually is? I mean, not always, but sometimes. The first pokemon the gym leader uses are old ones we know and then his/her "signature" pokemon is a new(in this case when Jhoto was new) gen. pokemon

This is usually true, this is the only generation where the first gym leader isn't rock with

Geodude and or Onix + Onix or Geodude/ New gen Rock type.

On another note, I wouldn't be suprised for a Dash/Pinball remake, 5th gen is not reasonable, not expecting that till next year, though it's about time for a sneak peek into 5th gen.

Also from some digging around in D/P/Pt there is data for Johto location in D/P/Pt. (I'm talking pokemon can be found from Johto)

how about a pokemon snap follow up? I'm well aware that it is probably the most unlikely thing that could ever happen, but really, pokemon snap was amazing. at this stage in the game i'd much rather gain a pokemon snap game than a G/S remake.

Just getting my pokemon snap love out of my system here, thats all.
 
I really hope it is a G/S remake... those were definitely my favorite games in the series. My internal batteries died in all 3 Gold, Silver, and Crystal carts, taking several shinies and about 15 level 100s with them, and although I bought replacement batteries and would really like to play through them again, I feel like I wouldn't be being productive if I spent time playing a Pokémon game that I couldn't get anything out of to use in the current generation, since that's what everyone else plays and what is used in tournaments, when I could be spending the time to do so.
 
If there is a G/S remake they have to do something about Stealth Rock, because it is unacceptable for the version's main uber legendary to have 50% of its health stripped because of pointy stones.
 
Syberia, I think it will definitely have Kanto in there. It's the #1 reason people think of Gold/Silver so fondly. There would be an insane amount of backlash if they didn't include it in some form. I highly doubt that the remakes will remove content.

To be honest, it was unacceptable when the final evolution of the best Pokemon in the game had 50% of its health stripped because of pointy stones.
 
It just makes since by looking at legends easily available right now:

Birds: Xd, FR, LG, Plat
Dogs:Colloseum, sort of FR, LG
Regis: RSE, Plat

Mewtwo: FR, LG
Lugia, Ho-oh: Xd, colloseum with difficulty
Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza: RSE

So yeah they brought back both the regi's and the birds in plat, but skipped over the dogs they wouldn't leave the dogs out in the cold unless they were planning to release them, Also with jasmine randomly in plat for no reason, johto as a location in d/p, them bringing back the starters into the limelight, and finally mentioning the shiny gyrados, and other g/s things so much in 4th gen so much (professor elm guy, tin tower guy), also there are alot of gold and silver pokeballs in 4th gen, i was convinced there was a g/s remake coming this year before all of this, now its undeniable

EDIT: another tidbit i found, gastrodon and shellos have unused sprites built into the game, west, east, johto, kanto amiright
EDIT2: also www.pokemonwhitegold.com goes back to nintendo, though i still think it will be dusk dawn
 
Not that I would be angry if the GSC remakes were released on the Wii, but I think it would be unfair as not everyone has a Wii, but everyone(or those who want the most playability) has a DS who owns PBR. There is too much evidence not to think of it as an obvious choice, and Nintendo isn't that evil.

I just want to get my good IV'd Lugia, Raikou, Suicune, and Celebi. Not to mention my Feraligatr will actually do massive damage in game!(Surf wasn't cutting it).
 
Yes, I'm actually thinking like most people in this thread: I'm looking at a Gold/Silver remake too. I've been hoping for one but really not expecting one for a few years now, and finally it looks like it's all coming together.

If it happens Feraligatr has maybe the best level-up moveset of all time. Aqua Tail, Crunch, Superpower... There was a fourth good move but I'm forgetting it now, probably due to lack of sleep.

edit: thanks EeveeSkitty, I was thinking of Ice Fang.
