True. But the Shiny Gyarados was still level 30, and the title bird only got shifted up 5 levels. It's looking more and more like the level of difficulty hasn't been adjusted.
I'd be happy if the Johto Gyms/E4 had their levels raised by 5, just like Lugia/Ho-oh.
Kanto needs an overhaul regardless, though. Having lv30-40 pokémon, only to have Blaine with ONE lv50+ pokémon, then Blue with his relatively-high-level team and then Red with lv70+ pokémon was really a sloppy work from Game Freak.

The game intro is pretty neat. Did anyone else notice that when the legendary beasts pictures got wiped off the screen, it was by Unown letters corresponding to their names, E, R, and S?

The worst part about Kanto being so underleveled was that the stagnation started even before the E4...Jasmine had a level 35 Steelix as like the 6th badge, and then the 8th badge has a lv. 40 kingdra? Seriously, from the 6th badge on there was a lot of story and just no level increases, with a 15 level increase from the 6th badge to the highest level E4 member. That same difference is in the 8th badge to highest E4 member in RBY.
Then to make matters worse, every trainer in Kanto is worse than the E4...except Blue was on par with the RBY E4, and then Red was just lol. They have the cartridge space this time, I'm hoping they really address that

There's still some trainers in this generation that did that, the first to be problematic being Mars's Lv18 (I think) Purugly.
I liked GSC's wild underleveled evolutions, like Lv4 Arboks.
Wild shinies sparkle when you meet them, so I don't see why the "follower" Pokemon can't sparkle too.
Hell, I have found wild Seadra at level 31 in this game. Wild/trainer pokemon don't follow our rules.
Or perhaps pokemon dislike ten year olds and like being annoying?

Ampharos learning Tail Glow would be as awesome as Illumise learning Tail Glow. If that happens, I swear, I'll whore the hell out of Ampharos in NU and UU.
It'd be even more awesome if Volt Tackle finally becomes a Move Tutor move. /impossible
That'd be cool for Electivire and Luxray. Although, I want a water-type Double-Edge, for Feraligatr, not Gyarados :)
Feraligatr kicks up a level in badass in an attempt at shoving Gyarados out of the way as the primer DD sweeper.
I also so wish Entei had Sacred Fire, Entei would be shoving teams to bits with that 50% Burn rate move.
I hope they make elite four better this time round too. Stuff like much higher levels and fully evolved pokemon (like honchkrow for the dark type trainer) and it would be cool if they added platinum move tutor attacks, like super power and heatwave for honchkrow, and signal beam for houndoom ^_^. My favourite thing about it so far though is the new rival art work-much much cooler than Barry's... I hope your rival has a really cool team too, the following would be quite good starter, nidoking, weavile, skarmory, magmortar and gengar. May sound a little odd to some of you but its just what I think would suit him.
Oh btw, I know it seems pretty obvious now that your rivals mother is a team rocket admin but... Has anybody noticed how much like galactic admin Mars she looks!? Hmmm this is interesting. Its probably not her though. :s

Wow Sacred Fire Entei would actually be good. Would be used a lot, though usage would probably go down as the novelty wore off. If Entei did get Sacred Fire I could imagine Raikou getting Volt Tackle or something as well. And maybe Rotom would also get Volt Tackle: he is based on Pulseman, after all.
In Diamond and Pearl, you can catch lv. 4 Kirlia with the Pokeradar. Top that.
Lv. 5 Tyranitars with the Pomeg glitch in R/S/E.

I would actually say the Arbok is better than that. Lvl4 Bibarels and Staravias too. Oh yeah and anything Pomeg wins automatically.
Anyway, does anyone know if there'll be another NZ Jirachi event? Given how it was for Tanabata, I'm not sure if there'll be another one. I never got mine because my brother went and deleted my Japanese Diamond ROM from the flashcart. I never imported because the customs in the UK are ridiculous: it cost me £60 in customs and £25 in postage to get my Japanese lites imported. Then NoE went and released 'turquoise', making my ice blue DS appear to random noobs as one of those, and my brother managed to explode a bottle of pure French apple juice all over the enamel navy one inside a backpack so all the buttons got clogged up until the on/off switch couldn't take it any more and disconnected itself from the DS's workings. So money sort of wasted there but I guess it was worth the extra money having a cool DS. I was actually only buying a new one because my brother had broken my white lite by tripping over its charging cord while it was charging on my desk. He'd dashed over to the PC to read what I'd posted on SPPf while I was having a pee (._.) and didn't see the cord. No other reason to go there. Am considering the lime green/chatreusey-coloured DSi for a replacement, since my ice blue's getting a bit wobbly. I sort of went off on a tangent there actually.
