Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Okay whenever I click generate on the RNG reporter I get this message.

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.

Configuration system failed to initialize."

It tells me to click continue to attempt to continue or quit to exit. Continue never works.
I've redownloaded it twice :(

Anyone else had this problem with the RNG reporter or just me?

Copy ALL of the files from the zipfile into the same directory as the exe where you plan to run it. This is a missing file (RNGReporter.exe.config).

But that doesn't answer my question. I know Ditto will be in the Trophy Garden as slot 6, but how do I know what Pokemon I would get? How do I ensure the Pokemon I find in the grass is a Ditto? How do I use the information that Ditto is slot 6 in order to find and catch a Ditto when I want to? There is nothing in the opening post, however I saw a post by Mingot a little further down, but the information I was looking for isn't in there. I would appreciate if someone would explain to me or provide me with a direct quote pertaining to my questions.

Um, right click on the method J spread and then click the appropriate link in the dialog to open a chart that you can use to match the number to a specific Pokemon.

So, you cant find your SID# unless you have already caught a non-chained shiny?

For now. Hopefully later this week or next the SID from chains (it will take more than one chained shiny) will be done.

I really need to know this.

Where does it say you have to be?

And would it not have been quicker to just try it?

Well, without an AR you're pretty much going to have to either spend some rare candies or level through battling (keep track of your EVs!). You can also use the IV man and hidden power man to help narrow things down to some extent. Basically, though, if you are not using an AR you are generally going to end up with a non-level 1 Pokemon.

I have an Ar but I have to save turn the ds off, put the ar in, etc. If I save after I got the egg I can't sr for good ivs. How do experienced breeders do it? Do they use a hundred rare candies like you mentioned mingot?

Then don't SR. Hard reset instead. Do calibration with you hitting the start button on the AR at :00 to get an idea of your seconds (delay should stay the same). Then adjust that way to hit target times.

I tried to explain, they've been asking me several of these questions over PM so I just referred them here... but it seems they haven't gotten around to actually READING the OP like I said to. Actually I've been referring them here for awhile but I really just put my foot down. Hopefully he/she will get it >___>

No wonder I've been confused... I just noticed the version 6.11 on the bottom of mingot's post. >_< I was using 5.20. Sorry, I'm sure I can manage to figure it out now. Thanks.

Thank you mingot.
I've got another question:

What Max Frame do you guys usually use in Time Finder and does it make a difference between legendary and non legendary wilds?

Do the max frame you are willing to do. If you want faster and more spreads, you can use wichus program which goes faster and can get every frame spread with your delay range. Only difference is you have to convert from method 1 to J in RNG reporter and there is no less than option.

No difference between legendary and non, only how to advance the frame with the grass.

Ah okay I thought it was more of a crucial step then a how much time do I wanna spend type deal.
Here's another question:

"Once the results have been displayed and you see a suitable spread make a note of the frame number. After this, right click on it and select "Generate Times". There a number of different Date/Time/Delay combination that yield the same seed so simply pick one from the list to use as your target time."

I'm assuming you're supposed to right click on the spread, but when I do, I see a list like: set as target frame, jump to target frame, calculate poketch apps, etc. Where am I supposed to right click? >_>

Wrong window. Do it in the time finder.

Where in the time finder? When I generate the spread from the nature/IVs/shinyness in the time finder it opens up a list of frames and stuff in the rng reporter window which is why I was right clicking and getting the wrong results :P

EDIT actually I found it while I was messing around, I ended up having to click seed to time in the rng reporter... >___>

So for 10/31/2009 I got Time: 16:44:59 and Delay: 627

then i ran into another problem:

"Monster Frame - This number represents the frame number that a Pokémon will land on when soft resetting and then immediately capturing it without doing anything to advance the RNG. Please see the list in the "Creation Methods for Captured Pokémon" which is below."

There's no Ghastly there >.> I didn't realize it was legends only on that list, how do I find Gastlys "monster" value or whatever?

I was wondering, when the rng tells you that you need 0 coin flips, do you just do the happiness taps and leave it like that or you have to swith to the coin flip app and leave it there

EDIT: cool, ty mendosuke

The Legendary Birds (Post E4)

Once you have beaten the elite 4 you may speak with Professor Oak and he will re-release any birds which have not already been captured. The remaining birds will be regenerated in the same order as they were originally (Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno). If none were captured they will appear on frames 1, 6, and 11. If one was captured the remaining birds will appear on frames 1 and 6. If two were captured the remaining bird will appear on frame 1.
Oh, I didn't know that they were available before you beat the E4. After you beat them, does he re-release them an unlimited number of tries whenever you speak to him, or only once, meaning that you'd basically get to SR for 2 of the 3 birds (1 pre E4, 1 post E4)?

To hit a spread that you found in the Timefinder, you have to have the same year/month/day hour/minute/second and obviously Frame. But does the Delay have to be -exactly- the same as well? If it does, then it's just a case of extreme bad luck why I'm not getting what I want, lol..

EDIT: Yea, same Delay too.. so I DID just have real crappy luck, lmao. The weird thing is that it is usually my most common Delay numbah as well. Oh well, what can you do....

Hi guys, I am having absolute trouble at understanding the directions to hatch perfect IV egg pokemon, can list an order of directions from beginning to end as I had a really hard time understanding anything from the original post.

You will notice "sweet scent". Use sweet scent and use the number given for that.

You don't need to do anything after you do the taps. :)

You DO need to switch away from the happiness checker. Follow the directions and just don't actually do any coin flips.

As far as I know you only get that second shot at them. You could try to go for three and see what happens.

Delay has to be exact.

That is a list of directions from beginning to end. If you can't get far enough to ask a specific question then no one is going to be able to help you. This just may not be the thing for you, sorry.

Do I need a AR to find my SID if I haven't caught a shiny in my game?

I am just interested in hatching perfect IVed pokemon, what are the steps to take: as in, do I need to follow the steps of how to hatch a shiny pokemon to get the selected nature and trait/gender I want and then go to the IV step?

Other people can find your SID, just post in the simple questions thread.

You don't need to do the shiny part for flawless IVs. Just get saved on an egg with the correct nature you want first.

Perfect! I'm actually saved on an egg with the correct nature/gender/trait
but i haven't followed ANY of the steps prior to being saved on the egg such as calculating the time and delay/what not. What step do I follow from here?
