Excellent. We're doing better than last year, as we only had one Amercian in the Top 4, Christopher Halordin-Tsai (Halordain). Now, we have two, once again from Smogon: slimceagirl (Grace), and NeoSyrex (Steven). I'm surprised at our two finalists, as Grace told me she wasn't too good of a player, and NeoSyrex kept to himself, so I didn't know how good he was.

Yeah, I'm surprised slimceagirl made it as far as she did, maybe she was just hustling everyone the whole time and wasn't a collector who didn't care much for battling after all? As for doing better than last year, we did add an extra US player in the top 4, but you also have to keep in mind that last year we both had the same number of competitors(16 v 16). This year however, we have the same 16, but they only have 7. I guess that's the only way to make it fair, huh :naughty:?

Anyone have any battle video IDs or know what teams are doing the best? Also, one of my TCG friends is picking up the Mystery Gift Weavile for me, but she says she doesn't see it on the list of events and nobody seems to know anything about it... is it going on?

Hippowdon and Shedinja on the same team. That person must have been over confident... Unfortunate to hear that they lost. Looks like the Japs beat us yet again. Next year we should seriously beat them down, as we've been disgraced two years in a row.

Motherfuck. :(

I thought we could have brought home the trophy this time. The Japanese probably had figured out the RNG months before we did, and are obviously hacking :P

Damn. At least 2 of the Top 4 were Smogoners. Hell, for the next VGC, since we'll possibly be using HG/SS, the RNG will have to be cracked ASAP if possible so that it hopefully isn't yet another Japanese person winning. As of now, I'm planning on finishing/reworking the team that I was planning on using back during the Regionals/Nationals...

Why...? We can get every Pokemon with perfect stats... They're not introducing new pokemon. It's a remake...

Also, sorry to hear about all the hax... I feel like matches like that should just be thrown out xD. It doesn't even show any skill because everyone is haxed everywhere. Luckiest player wins ><

(not saying it doesn't require skill, just hurts to be haxed to death.)

I don't know why I posted some of that. Sorry.

@KingEmpoleon & Pink - The RNG has to be hacked early. Unless this year and last year, VGC 2010 is going to be ubers (I'm 99% sure). Since all the 9 non-event ubers (besides Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina) are caught at too high a level in Emerald to RNG, we will need to figure it out.

Hmm...but what I saw that episode still has me wondering whether its the one's that are legal for next year's VGC, or the legendaries you can catch in HG/SS...

EDIT: If this Ubers allowed in VGC 2010 rumor is true, RNG abuse would be incredibly helpful due to the number of (good) legendaries available, so those who helped us crack the RNG before ought to immediately get HG/SS (as they will most likely) and hopefully crack it before the Japs do...which is imperative for us to take a VGC victory in the name of Smogon!

The RNG doesn't need to be hacked to abuse it. You can use save states on an emulator and find out where you are and go from there, sorta like emerald. You just find out where you are starting from.

I'm surprised at the top teams that made it. 3 Rain teams is a surprise and I though people would have been able to counter it better.

Here are a couple of matches with some of the excessive hax that was everywhere in this tournament.

2nd round 1st battle:
25-92783-94630
Interesting Quick Claw/Confuse Ray hax...

4th round 3rd battle:
78-50402-55971
Tremendous paralysis and freeze hax.
I had to run at the end because time was called.

And in a way that ends a very truthful tough annoying year of platinum! Hopefully with Spring 2010 for HG/SS will all convert to that play of the game and they better have less hax then in platinum..

Just goes to show that hax made a lot of the plays very suprising, you'd expect the Japanese National Champion to do better then 19th and for Omega to do better then 14th. Just goes to show the hax they have in platinum that is so mucked up. Just watching your battle recorded battles 616 and to get a freeze hax like that just took the absolute ^&%* but he was very good at predicting what you were going to do so fair play but in a way if those hax didn't occur I am pretty sure that would've been more your side.

At round 3 it was a good time to be british. We were 5th on the swiss, :O

HG/SS should bring back less hax in a way, but with the new ubers, who knows.

Well tommorow once we have the video number of that final (they better give us it..) then we can look back and reflect more.

Edit:
Good News!

In the junior division, Jeremiah Fan the Juniors National Champion has won his semi final match against Kamran Jahadi (US) which means we definitely have a non-japanese player in the juniors final! He'll be playing Santa Ito (JP) for the Juniors world title!

Also, France and Great Britain did well in the juniors flight as well scoring 7th for france and 8th for GB!

Also VGC Coverage video is up on first post.
