Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

With Latios roaming, Suicune started on frame 5 on my target seed. My target frame is 4.

So I killed Latios. Then Suicune dropped down to 3.

Looks like I'm going to have to make a Gardevior with Sync, Focus Slash, Psychic, Hypnosis, or something, so I can run the 128 steps nessisary to advance the frame by 1.

Use the seed to time function and run for adjacents and then use the flip finder.

To find your initial seed, of course.

Well see I already know my initial seed (which is always a delay of 602) and I already have my time and date combo. I just need to catch regice to see if it's close to my initial seed and hopefully level 42 will be enough.

For Step 9 of emloop in syberia's post:

The delay I'm aiming for is 2032. The delay I got when I checked my seed was 2044. Can I still do the difference with 2032 being the smaller number and 2044 being the bigger number, or do I need to get a delay smaller than 2032?

It's really just a matter of luck and patience. Be sure you can hit roughly in the range of the target you're aiming for, and just keep trying until you get it.

Does anyone know???

can anyone just briefly describe to me what steps i must take in order to use the "DPPt Shiny Egg" Tab in the Time Finder? I filled in all my desired information, and tested it out.

Date: 10/1/09
Time: 01:02:17
Delay: 604
Nature: Jolly
Ability: 1
Gender: M
Flip Sequence: T,H,H,T,T,H,H,H,T,T
Taps: 8
Flips: 6

I perfectly hit my delay and second, so idk what went wrong (I think it might have to do with the note under the gender ratio box... "Please note that number of flips and taps that are listed assume that you will also be doing 10 coin flips to verify your initial seed")... so does that mean the tab expects us to do 10 coin flips to verify the egg info and shininess before collecting it?

I don't think you understand how that tab works. Basically, you must hit your seed and then do the ten coin flips to verify whether you hit the seed or not. If you did, then you can do the happiness app double taps and the remaining coin flips, THEN generate the egg.

oh ok thanx. its my first time using the tab, so yeah, i didn't understand ;) so basically the steps are:
  1. begin game
  2. do 10 coinflips to verify
  3. THEN do taps, then flips
  4. now i can put my parents into the center and get shiny/ desired nature & ability?

Yep. The first ten flips must match, but you seem to have the gist of it.

You can use the radio to advance the frame by one, by turning to a station and then turning it off. I forget which station, though.

New version of ID Finder is available.

Quick synopsis:

0.1.2.0: Added "infinite search," search for Trainer ID and Shiny PID in left column, and simple seed to ID/SID feature. Fixed bugs such as errors when number of digits in min delay doesn't match number of digits in max delay as well as crashes when shiny PID was left blank.

G'day Gents,

I'm about to giving abusing Suicune on HG a go. I've saved in a patch of grass on Route 25, facing East at the furthest edge. I'm carring a Catcher (in first spot), a Synchroniser, a Sweet Scenter and two other Pokemon [a wall and my starter to be percise]. My algorithim is as follows:

+ Set DS timer to > 1 min before the target time. Sync with the seconds hand on my computer clock.
+ Whack in the AR, take out the AR, put in my HG cart and select the IV/EV viewing code.
+ Press "start" at the Target Time - Delay * 60. (I may have to do this 1-3 seconds earlier to factor in the loading time.)
+ Bash through to the start menu. Hit "continue" at the right moment.
+ Sweet Scent and immediately catch a pokemon to verify my seed.
+ Bike my way to Suicune.
+ Advance frame, and switch my Synchroniser into the top spot of my party.
+ Encounter Suicune.

Would this work? I'm worried that catching a Poke would cause a variable to change and stuff everything up.

EDIT: I currently have 3 Roamers.

Cheers,
Snapper

There's an even easier way.

+ Save in front of Suicune.
+ Talk to your Pokemon several times and note the pattern of responses.
+ Catch Suicune (hopefully you have a Master Ball) and determine its seed.
+ Keep trying until you get the seed you want. Record these responses.
+ Next time you're trying to hit that seed (even for Pokemon besides Suicune), use the pattern of responses instead of checking IVs of wild Pokemon.

While this might seem more tedious than your method, it has several advantages.

- You only need a few Rare Candies, no AR. Since you're not using the AR, you also can set your timer to ~15 seconds rather than < 1min, allowing you to check more Suicunes in a shorter amount of time.
- If you screw up advancing the frames (which is likely to happen with the inconsistent radio), this allows you to try again much, much faster.

Note: you have to use Pokemon with roughly the same happiness each time; the pattern of responses can change. So stick with either a recently-traded Pokemon or a Pokemon you've been training with for a long time.

What is the seed and frame and stats of the Suicune you're going for?

<blah>
This is also easy to apply for people who don't have an AR, since Suicune is already high level and it only takes few Rare Candies to check its IVs.

What is the seed and frame and stats of the Suicune you're going for?

Cheers for you quick response.

I'm trying to catch it in a Net Ball.

ID: 43607
SID: 41433

Target A:
Seed: 2f130349
Frames: 801,807,809
PID: 360d3d84 Bold & Shiney
IVs: 30/1/25/27/29/31 (Dragon 45)

Target B:
Seed: 59120260
Frames: 328,334,336
PID: 360d3d84 Bold & Shiney
IVs: 30/1/25/27/29/31 (Dragon 45)

You may think that this is a lot of work for a pretty average spread, but (sorry to sound like a kid) Suicune is my favourite ledgendary, and I really want a competative shiney one. These were the best my computer could find after leaving it to run RNG Reporter for 6 hours.

Hi I'm having problems getting through step 9 on syberia's post, so I thought I'd try Sephirona's post summarized by Dan Dan instead.

So My target delay is 2032 and the delay I always get when doing rng is 602. I take 2032 - 602 to get 1430. I put 1430 into the box on emloop to get a second of 23.83. So I add that to the seconds I always get during rng (which is 14) and get 37.83. So with my target time being 22:39:59, I take 59 - 37.83 which is 21.17. I stick 21.17 in the top box next to the start time button (where you would usually have 60 in). I do my clock synch, do the timers, do my button mashing and then check my coin flips.

Does that sound correct? Does that sound like it might be easier to do (though I guess it's different for most people)? If you need a reference to what I'm talking about: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2229052&postcount=10203

That is the way I always used emloop and found the easiest, I never actually made sense of Syberia's guide. It must be correct if it has worked for me so many times :P

That's what I do.
Unless you find it's hard to synch clock then enter game (unless you have a DSi in which case it's easier).

You could add add another 60 seconds onto your 21.17 to get 81.17.
This gives you one whole minute to get ready to SR.

I'm trying to use Emloop to get a high delay, I just have a few problems with it, could someone help me out here?

I followed Dan Dan's guide, this one: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2229052&postcount=10203
and it says that there's a second timer, but I do not get a second timer, or do I actually have to synch it with a clock and Emloop?

Also, I looked at Syberia's guide, which seems more logical to me actually. But, I can't get that second timer to run.

EDIT: That 10 second beeper isn't working either for me. Not in FF, not in Safari, now testing IE but I doubt it'll work.

So is it confirmed that the pattern of responses is based solely on your seed (assuming exact same happiness), just like the coin flip test in DPPt? If so, can we just use a max happiness poke each time to check our seeds?

The delay keeps getting much too high to hit. Intead of 2032, I'm getting 2088 or 2090. Should I maybe do less than 60 seconds on the 21.17 or more on it?

So you're hitting higher than what you like, so if you're putting in 1430, make that lower.
So take away 60 if you're hitting a delay of 2090,
put in 1370 instead.
