Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ok I'm RNG abusing the Mew in Heart Gold. I've got a spread of 31/31/31/31/31/31 using Method 1 and a Calm nature, which is irrelevant if I'm correct. I've hit my seed, but when I hit my target frame, which 163, I don't get those IV's. I've tried hitting 159, 160, 161 an 162 but no dice. Did I do something wrong?

I'm trying to RNG the birds, but it doesn't look like I can use the seed finder. And the coin flips aren't reliable apparently as I am having problems counting on them from the last time I was using emloop. Is there anyway to do this for someone without AR?

If I find the time, maybe I'll do it complete but for now here's something for testing purpose. Posting it here since basically no one follows the RNG Research Thread and I want to profit everyone from it. I use that at least^^

Thanks, but in a week, when this is 10 pages back the information is basically lost. That's the benefit of nothing being posted in the research thread except useful information ...

@mingot:You definitely got a point there... Didn't think about that. Well will post that there when I finished that. probably should do it in a Excel table as well.
@Bosskrow: You do have to take into account that in the market the frame advances. you can stop it advancing by pressing X so you are in the menue. Hit your target frame(see my radio mappings I used the radio for that), press X again and talk AS FAST AS POSSIBLE with the green guy.
btw: why going for Frame 163? There are easier frames for that with an easy delay as well.
Use that Seed: D2140289, lies on Frame 114. Sounds easier than 163 to me. Delay is 640 which sounds pretty easy to hit to me.

It's not that coin flips are always unreliable, it's that you can't use them to verify you seed unless you know you're hitting delays near the ones you were aiming for. Since you didn't know, coin flips were unreliable.

Once you use the Seed Finder to figure out approximately which delays you're hitting, then you can adjust emloop accordingly. And then you can use coin flips.

You're missing your frame. It's not Method 1, it's 'Wondercard Pokemon'
Also, if you don't have access to save states, try it on the Pokemart on the Safari Zone, there's only two npcs and only one moves...Rarely, he just turns his head while playing his DS, and this advances the frame by 2 (Well, I tried it once and it was two, go figure)

Hello.

I'm having a bit of a struggle using the Timd Finder App effectively.

I'm looking for a Method 1 spread for the legendary birds. I'm trying to look for a Shiny Calm Nature 31/X/31/31/31/31 Or at least something amongst it for me to abuse the birds with. I cannot seem to be able to find one.

Any recommendations on what I should change? Also, I have my max frame on 12000.

Can you use Emloop? If not, then you probably aren't going to find the spreads you are looking for in a normal delay range.

EDIT: You probably don't have a shiny Calm spread for your ID/SID combo anyway. Quint-flawless shiny spreads are very rare.

I haven't tried as of yet.

So I should change my min/max frame then to find a possible spread?

There are only so many Calm Quint-flawless spreads out there, and chances are, you don't have one :(. In other words, it might be impossible, no matter what the frames you put in, to get the spread you want. If you can settle with non-shiny though, then it is very easy to find the spreads that you want.

Hi! I have a question. Is it possible to try to create a RNG Reporter for the Mac? All I have at home is a Mac and I would love to start RNGing pokemon. I just don't want to go around and buy a Windows computer that I don't need, you know what I mean? :D

What version of OS X do you have? You should be using Bootcamp, if you can. ^^

Just out of curiosity, how many people actually find it easier to hit their delay with Emloop than they do with changing the year and button mashing? I find button mashing MUCH easier but I've heard from some people who are the other way around.

I use a stopwatch either way, but I guess it's easier for me to button-mash. I still hit the high delays, though, when neccessary- I think it looks better to have normal years.

Emloop I can't button smash because of spasm in the finger Oh yes good ol' spasm DX
Im not sure if the right word is spasm...

just a small question about frame advancement when using pokeradar.

how many frames advance my frame when I encounter a pokemon? i recall 3 or something, but im not sure atm :P

i know about the patches that advance the frame too, so ive to be lucky because my target frame = 325, far lower then the recommended 700 :(

Doesn't the area where Articuno is contain wild Pokemon? You can advance the RNG by taking individual steps, then. And even if not, I think that water might.

Just save four steps away from Articuno and walk there. Catch a few sample Articunos to make sure that their Method K frames are frame 5, in case I'm wrong. If not, adjust your steps.

Do you have the ability to unlock the two roamers (Entei and Raikou) again? If so, release them, then walk 1 step to directly in front of Articuno. I've noticed they seem to advance the RNG by 2 each.

No.

Unfortunatley walking doesn't advance the RNG like it does in DPPt. By saving in the water, surfing 2 tiles, then running up to encounter Articuno, I'm still encountering Frame 3. Next time I'm going sweet scent in front of Articuno and immediatlely run from the battle then encounter Articuno to see how far it has advanced, and whether or not its the same as DPPt.

It actually does. I've used it to advance the frames for a Mewtwo. So the area Articuno is in must be a dead zone for wild Pokemon - so Sweet Scenting shouldn't work, either.

Encountering a pokemon is one advancement. If you are doing pokeradar, just use the formula in the post I have to find out how many journal flips to do.

yeah ive been doing that now, had no succes yet though.

for some odd reason the frames are a lot higher than i expect them to be

for example: 4 patches were sparkling, i didnt get the pokemon i wanted, so i try again then took notes about my steps (even though this isnt really needed) anyway, when i think the frame is at, say, 200 the actual frame is actually 270 or something.

anyway what ive been doing now = the formula you gave me, but the first try i fucked up with the frame myself, and the second time i forgot to subtract the 6 frames from battling + encountering :|

ill try some more tomorrow or later today, im probably just making stupid mistakes atm ._.

So could I use emloop, SR accordingly, and catch a wild pokemon to check how many delays I'm off so that I can adjust? Just so I don't have to try and catch one of the birds.

All my RNG captures have occurred in 2009 as it helps to have patience as each delay takes adjustments in time. Please refer to this post from page 346 of this topic on my higher delay method:
