Yeah. Once it is put into effect, the next attack will KO. If you switch the Pokemon with 1 HP left out and bring it back it, it won't avoid a KO through Focus Sash again.

Really? So, if you switch something out that has been damaged, and then use Trick and steal a Focus Sash, will the Sash not work?

Sash only works when you're at full health. When you hang on with Focus Sash, it is consumed.

But, if you get hit and say, take 40% damage, you can use a healing move back to 100% health and Focus Sash can save you from a move that would potentially KO.

So if you take a hit that doesn't activate the Sash, then heal back to 100%, then take another hit that would KO you, does the Sash activate?

And if your Sash is used, then you acquire another one by thief/trick/whatever, then get healed to full health, will you have the protection of the new Sash?

Now Playing. Doesn't really mean anything Pokemon-wise, it's just they tend to use music titles that relate in some way to what the thread is about.

I know for sure the first statement is true. I've experienced it in the WiFi Battle Tower.

Based on the results and basic mechanics of the Focus Sash, I would safely guess the latter statement is also true, but I have not been able to verify that.

Why isn't there a great interrest in double battles in smogon?
it seems to be everything (battles, strategies, etc) are all based off the traditional 1v1 battle

I'm assuming because the only way to have a double battle is using Wifi. That takes far too much time in my opinion, averaging 40-50 minutes per battle. However, when Shoddy Battle 2 is released, with support for double battles, I assume the popularity of them will escalate greatly. I wouldn't be surprised to see a separate tier list emerge just for double battles as well.

okay thanks...but what is Shoddy battle?

You can check out Shoddy Battle here.

if i am to breed for a Roserade for HP ground, would it be easier to have one parent with half the IVs and the other with the other half of the IVs for HP ground- Or would it be easier to have both parents with the IV combination for HP Ground?

What percentile does a Pokemon have to be in in order to be OU?

Anyone know the answer to this?

Heracross is the last OU Pokemon ranked 45 in the usage statistics. It has a 3.51% usage. Porygon-Z and Cresselia are the next two with 3.25% usage. Why were these two Pokemon moved to UU?

ok, im raising a trick room team with bronzong as my lead(big surprise there). all of the websites ive seen(including smogon) have recommended relaxed nature 4 this set. that just doesnt make much sense to me...relaxed is +defense -speed but bronzongs only weakness(with levitate of course) is fire moves which r almost ALL special attacks excluding fire fang and fire punch(maybe a few more). it just seems like it would make more sense to have sassy nature(+sp. defense -speed) or even quiet nature depending on ur set(+sp. attack -speed). Is the reason that relaxed is recommended bcus its just a general rule to when sp. defense and defense r equal, to raise defense, or is there sumthing i missed?

It's easiest to RNG manipulate ;-)

Besides, if both parents already have HP ground, then one of them is already a HP Ground Roserade. In which case, why do you need to carry on breeding?

@OMG_its_Dunsparce!!: I'm not sure why Relaxed is mentioned. The given EVs leave the defenses almost balanced(5 more points in physical). So I'm sure sassy would work just as well.
You wouldn't use Quiet though. Gyro Ball and epxplosion are physical moves. If you wanted more offensive power for some reason, you'd use Brave. (But you probably should have a good reason before doing so)

Breeding for Sleep Powder... Otherwise i would do so.

Why isn't Rotom-C (EDIT: And -S and -F) UU or BL then? Did someone decide that all the Rotom Appliances would be tiered together? They're listed seperately for virtually all purposes.

I'm pretty sure they're tiered together. Rotom-S would for sure be UU otherwise(.7% usage)

would HP dragon be okay for a Modest Specs Magmortar (252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4Spd)
using thunderbolt, flamethrower, focus blast

It would work fine, you only lose 1 attack IV, which is an unused stat anyways. I believe HP Ice is recommended though( Hits more things Super effectively than Dragon).

More on Rotom - what are the form abbreviations meant to stand for? I guess H is Heat, F Frost, and W Wash, but what are S and C meant to stand for?
