Choice items require you to switch out or use the sam move as the last move you used after you first acquired a choice item. Sleep Talk locks you into the move it selects.
Attack, then get tricked it: you select next turn our choiced move
Get tricked it, then attack: you are locked into whatever you just used.

I didn't say anything about Trick, but are you saying that Sleep Talk has to randomly pick the same move in succession for it not to fail? I'm sorry, but my question wasn't really clearly answered.

No, if you use sleep talk when choiced, you will be forced to withdraw your pokemon, flee, or use the attack sleep talk chose. I included trick because it is related and I wanted to answer anyone else's questiions about it in advance.

how do you find your ID and SID.
You can find it if you have 1 unchained shiny, or ~8 chained shinies. Their ivs are determined by your SID so you can find it then.

What is meant is that you are locked into using the move that sleep talk chose, meaning that sleep talk itself cannot be used at all due to the choice item.

I think it was fixed in platinum, though that may be a different glitch. Try going on the in game section of the main Smogon website, I think the "tips and tricks" article has some info. Also cantab's post just below my answer had more information.
Naturally, if it was fixed in Plat it will not be in HG/SS, but I'm beginning to think that it wasn't.

GTS cloning was fixed in Platinum. GTS evolution was not - I've done it.

Does a Pokemon passes on the status such as Burn or Paralysis to its team mate after it uses Baton Pass? Like if I have a Scizor that was Will-O-Wisped by Mewtwo, and then that Scizor uses Baton Pass to another Pokemon, will the recipient take the burnt status? I'm asking this simply because none of the other status except confusion get Baton Passed according to the Smogon editor's description.

What's the required/best level of a Pokemon when using its stats to figure out its IVs through an IV calculator? Level 10? 15? 20? 100?

Simple Question!

wait no....its complex AND simple at the.... no its just.... ok just listen please.

I have an Adamant Elekid sitting in my PC box with some ideal moves and its ready for EV training, seeing as hes going sweeper and is in the OU class, Does anyone have a suggestion for other team members

The pokemon I am most interested in raising in the OU class are as follows:

Dusknoir
Gliscor
Infernape
Metagross
Lucario
Tyranitar
Salamance
Scizor

And in the intrests of throwing in some nice UUs:

Absol
Blastoise
Froslass
Nidoking or queen
Spiritomb (LOVE the Wall staller abilities in this one)
Scyther
Toxicroak
Arcanine
Mismagius
Blaziken
Sceptile

And to wrap it all up I have an adorable little gible who is Jolly and is Alert to sounds, but hes Uber

back to the question, any suggestions for me seeing as I have a start with the Elekid who will be come a Electivire?
And if so Ide really love to make a Uber/OU set that revolves around a Sword Dancing Garchomp, hate to keep knocking on a tired uber strategy, but I'm absolutely in love with everything about Garchomp.

If this post was too long feel free to delete it Mr. Admins or Mr. Mods, and Ill take it where you suggest me to, otherwise, someone please kindly help me with a unique and well rounded team suggestion.

Thank you~ ^^

Generally level 100 if you want an accurate reading. Be sure to mark down what EVs you get the pokemon. You can also get a rough approximation of its IVs by running its stats and EVs through any IV calculator, or by doing an IV battle and then running the numbers through without all of the levelling up.

I would recomend Gyarados, as you can bait an electric attack and then switch in to activate motor drive. Gyarados always makes a good teammate for Electivire.
Aside from that do you want your whole team to be based around engineering an Electivire sweep, or do you just want any team with an Electivire in it?

To be Honest I made the mistake that any noobie did, he saw how cool Electivire looked and wanted one, but now I have a good Elekid and that Is NOT going to waste, so I want to build a team around him or a team that works in synergy with him, what do you suggest in that case?

By the way does Electivire remind anyone of the old Dr. Robotnik?

@Vormund:
Go for a Gyarados. I prefer a bulkyDD version, but you could go with just about any kind. Gyara will lure Electric type attacks for Electivire to absorb and gain its Speed boost, which is going to greatly increase its sweeping capabilities. Just about any version of Gyarados is going to appreciate having Stealth Rock removed, so a Spinners like Starmie and Forretress are good options (Tress not so much, seeing as it's a more defensive-style Pokemon and you're using an offensive team). I believe you're using a Meditate Electivire, which is gonna have problems getting around sturdy physical walls like Forretress, Rotom-A, and Hippowdon, so a wall breaker will be appreciated. I'd say Infernape and Tyranitar will help you out, 4 Attacks MixApe can take out Tress and Hippowdon (81% - 95.7% with Grass Knot), and Ttar can trap and kill Rotom-A with Pursuit (just watch out for Will-o-wisp). You'll also need a lead, so check out this post for common leads.

That's six, so feel free to change that around as you please. All I did was give you a nice backbone for a team.

Edit: when you quote, you need (quote=so and so) before the quoted text and (/quote) after the quoted text, with brackets [] in place of the parentheses.

Brilliant!
And yes Gyrados I forgot about her, Gyrados was in my first E4 team in Plat when I was speeding to beat it, Absolutely loved raising her, took a beating and kept on fighting

But what of my beloved Garchomp? I am not so blessed with catching other Ubers with ideal natures, in fact most of my Ubers have natures that make them weaker then they should be, How should I take my Garchomp out for a spin in the Uber teir without my poor OUs getting stepped on by an Arceus?

You haven't put a [/QUOTE] at the end

Would you be using thunderbolt or thunderpunch on the Electivire?
I prefer the fully physical electivire but it leaves you more vulnerable to physical walls.

My Elekid knows Meditate, Cross chop, and Ice punch at the moment, if i need to ill replace CC with Low kick, and he will eventually learn Thunderpunch, as for Walls, I was looking at Infernape, seems hes a pretty good wallbuster

Thoughts?

You'll need an entirely new team of ubers if you plan on using Garchomp. A team of OUs+Garchomp won't get you anywhere in Ubers unfortunately.

If you get tired of having to breed/catch Pokemon constantly (or you just don't want to do it cause it sucks), use the Shoddy Battle online Pokemon simulator, available for download here. You can quickly and easily make new teams and use them against the best of the best online, and you never have to talk to that weird guy who gives you eggs again.

EDIT: That Vire spread looks like a poor man's SDLucario. Before you commit to a team based around Electivire, check out Luke; it's been one of my favorite sweepers lately.

I don't know how to explain it but I'm sort of a purist, also one with a deep imagination, of course Ill use Shoddy eventually but If I don't put in the hard work to raise, hatch, and breed then I don't feel the least bit accomplished when my team is driving the other teams noses into the dirt, but I have a good idea, Ill save my Uber team for Soul Silver, a TON of Ubers are in that game including Grou, Ray, Ky, Lugi, Mewtwo, God its the best lineup I have seen in a while, so Ill work on UU and OU teams untill that game releases, and Ill simply camp in front of the Uber I want untill I finnaly get the Nature I want

Thoughts?

My first though is the beginning of Pokemon XD, where you use a Pokemon simulator to practice before spending any time breeding, capturing, and training. That really set the standard for the correct order of operations, in my opinion.

You make a brilliant point sir, Ill have to look into it, this is going to take a lot of time and attention....

Well I can always EV train my Swords dance Garchomp to terrorize the casual battle websites around the world while I'm researching an ideal team on Shoddy X3

Speaking of casual, I'm into hardcore competition, and then I'm into "because the pokemon looks cool" casual competion as well, does anyone know of any websites with relaxed, non EV-ed Pokemon battles? Because if I go all Hardcore and no casual like I did the LAST competitive game I played, I'm never going to want to play it again

Here's a simple enough question. What are the negative side effects to using Action Replay on your Pokémon? Can you trade them on the GTS? Can you battle with them against other people?

Oh and just another clarification question. When your Pokémon gains experience in a battle while holding a Power item, they gain 4 EVs in that category, and if they have the Pokérus virus, they get 8? A simple yes or no will do

I know for a fact you can battle with them against other people. As always, make sure the stats are legitimate and no more than 255 EVs per stat, and 510 total. GTS-wise, someone else can answer that as there must be some parameters for legitimacy while trading over the GTS.

I am almost certain that you'll gain 8 EVs. So, yes.

Yes and yes, just let your opponent know that they're hacked.

4 extra Evs. Pokérus doubles EVs earned after Power items are applied.
