Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I was RNGing a Shiny Registeel on frame 31, I have 2 roamers, and did 14 journal flips, but got frame 32. Did I do something wrong? I used the same exact spread for a Regirock on the same day, and had no troubles.
It may sound stupid, but I did this last night so its easy to do <_< have you made sure that your syncro is in front AND its the correct nature lol -Stabs his abra-

@Pikachu25 - Save the last used settings! It kills me that I have to input the same info again and again. Also, release the source! If you don't wanna implement Properties I will :P (or at least change my copy's defaults to the ones I use). For JavaRNG, add the code I'm sending you (Shiny Egg searcher), and, if you haven't already, add better search options for IVs (<=, and allow selection of <=/>=/== per IV instead for the set).

@Newts - He caught the Regirock earlier today and didn't change his party setup, roamers, or date/time when going for Registeel, nor did he even have a synchro. I was on Skype with him for both, and was totally stumped as to why the RNG was being advanced an extra frame for one and not the other. I told him the same thing Ferrous did, but he went to bed before hitting his seed a 3rd time XD.

I don't think I'll get a positive answer to these questions, but I noticed that you can't restore the save of a Ruby/Sapphire cart to try and get a different Jirachi from the Bonus Disc because it will give you the same one each time. Apparently, it gives you a Jirachi depending on the specific ID/SID combination of the cart.

Is there a way to use Pandora's box to generate a specific ID/SID combination and how likely is it that someone will decipher which ID/SID combinations produce the best Jirachi?

Edit: For those that will no doubt say that there are better 4th gen Jirachis, let me remind you that in third gen carts you can teach it Body Slam.

Resposting because of the new page.

It's not likely that someone will decipher it any time soon, much like the PID\IV generation of Colosseum, but nice find!

They are both correct, you start your game, do your required number of page flips, grab the egg, THEN you do your coin flips to see if your on the right seed

I've got those all on my to-do list :). The only reason the source isn't out yet is that both programs are in the middle of total overhauls, and releasing the previous version wouldn't help (I think), and the next version is half done :P. PikaTimer 3.0 already has your Counter worked in, and I am a little over halfway done with the options settings, and there is a "Save" Button.

I'm trying to find good shiny spreads, I tried using PokéRNG but I couldn't find any Pokémon with 25+ in everything that matters. I think it's wired because I tried with infinite frame and delay... Could anyone help me with that?

Hi, I'm very new to this and reading it is like runnign into a brick wall.

However I am a keen learner and am slowling begining to grasp this, however I do have a problem, which is finding my SID.

I have never ever caught a shiny pokemon before, I have chained about 10 shiny Zigzagoons, and I read that RNG report can find my SID with them, my problem is how would I go about doing this?

Any help is much aprechiated, I do have an AR and I wondered if I used a shiny code and caught a AR forced wild shiny if that would be useable, or if it would not work.

If you have an AR, you can use the SID check code.

Akiraton posting about egg abuse just reminded me I wanted to comment on this.
This is not the way I do Frame Calibration but now I think about it, it's pretty good :).

My way:
Synch DS time with extrenal clock, make sure you know the date on your DS.
Go into the game, taking note which minute you entered the game.
Quickly close journal and pick up your egg.
Catch a level 50+ pokemon (Or just use IV check on a lower level pokemon) and find your seed.
Enter your seed into RNG reporter and dropdown onto "Breeding DPPt" and click generate.
Hatch egg + check IVs to see what frame you're on. I normally do this 2-3 times, if I get all 3 different frames I'll resave in a different position. If I get 2 the same + 1 different, I'll calibrate it twice more.
Then I search for a seed so I can hit. It helps if you have good parents in the Daycare. :)

But yeah, both way works :). Find the one that suits you

So collecting the egg and flying to the resort area and catching a pokemon there is a legit way of finding the initial save frame? Vs, catching a low level ponyta or something and using 30~ rare candies to get it to level 50 and checking its IVs. Obviously I don't have AR or enough rare candies to do this but if simply flying to survival area or whatever works then this is partially easier.. checking the eggs IVs still rough though...

thanks for the post

I did oringinally RNG about 10-15 pokes before I aquired an AR.
Checking the egg ivs isn't too difficult
After you hatch the egg, return to the resort area and battle 1 level 50+ poke. It should level you up to 7-10. If you enter the stats every level you should be able to get a good estimate on which frame you are on.
I remember this being an extremely long-winded process for me, taking about 30-40 minutes to calibrate my frame.
If you do it this method you need to know your parents IVs :)

ok. I don't understand what's going on. I'm RNGing for my first catch, and I thought I understood everything, but something keeps screwing up. here's what I've done every time.

first off, I'm using this seed--d6110f20
the delay comes out to 1 minutes 4 seconds and 36 milleseconds
so I set Emloop with that setting, and turn my DS to 16:58, so my finnal time there should be 17:00
I reset both the DS and Emloop at exactly the same time, give or take a couple of milleseconds
I reset the game after 60 seconds(first timer)
I mash until I'm at the continue screen
I hit A exactly when the timer sounds(again, give or take human error)
I catch a LV 50 or higher pokemon(fight area)
Imput the stats into the RNG, set to today at 17:00
and up pops the "no resonable seed found" message

so what am I doing wrong? I'm 100% positive that the stats, date, and time are correct, but I never get a result. this has happened 5 times in a row, so it's not a freak occurence

One thing I found I had a problem with when using Emloop is that somewhere along the way I always pick up an extra second in there, but that shouldn't be a problem for you since you're using the stats to seed finder which only goes to the minute. How high is the delay? I'm assuming 3--- or so, correct?

If so, that could be the problem since it only searches to like 2500 delay or so. Use the seed to time function from the main page, and insert your seed into the top. You can put your seconds if you want, but it doesn't matter. Once the list comes up, just choose one date/time (doesn't matter, it's the same seed). Then look down to the second box. Give it +/- 1 second, and +/- 99 for delay. Click generate. Now you need to click "Search Flips". Insert the first 10 flips, then click Okay. It should show the delay you hit. Now just adjust accordingly. A good formula to use when using Emloop is (Target Delay-Actual Delay)/100. Then add that time to the second timer and it should be alot closer. If it gives higher, Actual-Target, and subtract from the second timer. Don't forget to edit the first one so you still get the right second too.

PS: If you can, use the PikaTimer. Much better, plus you can just input the delay you hit with its values, and it self adjusts the time. It usually only takes 2-3 tries before it's within 4 of your target delay :) And sorry for the wall of text :pirate:

your problem is the delay its too high RNG reporter's seed finder only works for delays of less than 3600 (around there)with the IVs option and less than that with the stats option try downloading javaRNG it can check for higher delays so its not emloop or you its just the program.

I have a couple questions about RNGing using chaining:
Is this method mainly recommended for catching chain-only/weather route pokemon, or can it be used to get pokemon that aren't on the correct encounter slot for the seed?

Does your frame NEED to be high (700+, according to the guide) or is that just a buffer for imperfections (50 steps for resetting radar + the encounter and pokeradar advancement)
I have a good spread around frame 273, would that be usable?

Also, the guide says "Check the frame of the caught pokemon, and find out the actual frame. This will be coloumn two. Now you have everything to do the calculations for the journal flips."
So for clarification, that means look through the seed you hit (which is the target seed) and find the pokemon you hit by the IVs?

I just want to clarify everything before I actually try to RNG something like this

I'd also like to know the answer to this. Why is the number 700 given? What would anyone recommend the minimum number frame be?

Edit: Thanks very much, Nexus & COKTAL.

I've gone as low as 68 on a radar abuse before, but i got pretty lucky with the fact that i could start my chain at like 25~ and there were no NPCs in the area. It's just there to give a good starting idea for people new to trying radar abuse is all.
