But we're talking about Obama/Mewtwo leads. Scarf Obama backup seems pretty good, I'd run it.Scarf Obama is better coming in later in the game, so that it can still disrupt.

Heh, I used to use it and I'm pretty sure I've beaten you before with my wood hammering Abomasnow.:naughty:please no one use Wood Hammer
Any counters to those Mewtwo/Obama leads? They wreck Smeargle, weather, Focus Sashes, pretty much everything. Even Trick Room is hard to set up against them and bring out a Pokemon to kill them that can still counter enough other threats. I was thinking Rayquaza because it also stops weather teams, but it gets destroyed somewhere between Abomasnow's Sash and Mewtwo also having Blizzard, and because if a Trick Room lead has Fake-Out it has to hit Mewtwo because of Taunt.
Level 1 for Trick Room. Smeargle would need to Fake-Out Mewtwo in fear of Taunt, leaving something like Dialga to use Trick Room. However, Smeargle will be killed by Obama and the Hail, leaving the team without its Dark Void. The duo works extremely well (when built right, anyway) against pretty much everything I've compared it to so far, but gets wrecked by this extremely common pair, essentially leaving the battle at 3-4 from the start.Level 50 Smeargle + Fake Out-er? Fake Out Mewtwo, and Dark Void with Smeargle to put Obama to sleep before it Blizzards (with any luck). If Mewtwo lacks Lum Berry, that will hopefully fall asleep too; otherwise, you're screwed.
There obviously are other ways, otherwise we'd be seeing Mewtwo/Obama everywhere :P
Hmmm...actually, I could do the Mewtwo/Obama lead with Lugia and Weavile in the back. That would work better.Tbh, I'm thinking about this Abomasnow thing, but then my idea with a sub-Lugia wouldn't really work...or would it, I dunno.
It would show up like this, I guess:
Weavile/Lugia
Mewtwo/Abomasnow
Weavile would Fake Out to allow Lugia to sub-up, then do whatever and possibly bring in Obama to ruin weather teams if they have set up and what not or bring in Mewtwo to use Blizzard and stuff.
Good idea?
Weavile and Metagross beats it.....Level 1 for Trick Room. Smeargle would need to Fake-Out Mewtwo in fear of Taunt, leaving something like Dialga to use Trick Room. That would mean that the Trick Room team needs to use something like Spiritomb to be able to avoid both Selfdestruct and Shadow Ball (at least somewhat) and put huge dents in Mewtwo, but that still leaves a huge problem with the fact that Abomasnow will have a Focus Sash and Dialga won't be able to kill it, and instead of Spiritomb, Tyranitar would have to be used, but be extremely wary of Blizzard and Mewtwo's monstrous Aura Sphere, and that would also endanger Smeargle and leave it much weaker when it comes to the leads facing two different Taunters at once or needs to intercept a Fake-Out (so Smeargle can use Follow Me and switch out with 1 HP) because it'll only have one turn before it dies.
Seriously, what the hell is going to beat Mewtwo/Obama? I don't think Nintendo saw them coming.
i'd run goodstuff abomasnow over scarfsnow due to the fact that, as mentioned by someone earlier, abomasnow's niche is really to disrupt the other two more popular weather setuppers, Groudon and Kyogre.
@GBC: Rayquaza is a good choice. However, as you mentioned it, abomasnow (esp) with blizzard would be troublesome.
Well, a Trick Room team needs to be able to set up Trick Room on turn 1 and be able to counter everything, not just Mewtwo/Obama, and Follow Me doesn't do anything to Blizzard.Weavile and Metagross beats it.....
Scarf Smeargle Dark Void
Weavile Dialga
Weavile Palkia
Well just about any fake out poke + another pokemon than can OHKO mewtwo will stop it
Hell Dialga/ Palkia + any follow me fakeout user can beat mewtwo and abomasnow
No, you keep your own team sheet with you, you don't have to show it to anyone other than a member of staff before the tournament begins. At least I did in London, anyway.
Hey, where's the evasion clause?
Non-existent.
I've thought about redoing my team for the VGC, since I don't want to use Ho-Oh anymore.
Togekiss@Lum Berry
Nature, EVs to be determined
Follow Me
Air Slash
Protect
Aura Sphere/Extremespeed
Togekiss would exist to Follow Me while Dialga Trick Rooms (and Follow Me draws Taunt, etc, right? Air Slash is to abuse Serene Grace after the TR gets up. Yawn can screw up the "last" Pokemon on a side, since if they can't switch, they can't avoid sleep. Aura Sphere is filler, basically. I just needed a move to fill the spot. Should I put Protect over that?
I could understand Yawning for late game, but Togekiss isn't going to survive that long. Also....
Metagross+Giratina-O vs Togekiss+Dialga
Metagross used Explosion! Dead Togekiss, Yellowish Dialga, full health Giratina-O. Giratina-O used Earthquake! Dead Dialga. Basically, Protect might be more useful than Yawn, if just to stop Protects. Also, Extremespeed is a good option, but it or Aura Sphere is up to personal preference.
Dialga@Lum Berry
Quiet Nature, 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Sp Def
Dragon Pulse
Fire Blast
Trick Room
Thunder
Mixed-Dialga being re-purposed into a TR lead. I don't really know where to put TR on the set. I kind of want to drop Fire Blast for it since it doesn't get an accuracy boost in the Sun. I'm not running Protect because Steel already resists Explosion, and none of my team is currently planning on running Earthquake. I might be able to find a spot for either move, though. Any suggestions?
Well, Brick Break sort of sucks on Dialga, so you might want to replace that on Dialga. Run Dragon Pulse rather than Draco Meteor on Trick Room Dialgas, unless you have White Herb. Remember, you don't want to waste your turns in Trick Room switching out to recover from dropped Sp Atk. If you really want a fighting move, Aura Sphere deals more damage, but you might have it on Togekiss, and it doesn't hit as hard on Snorlax....
Abomasnow@Life Orb
Quiet Nature, 252Attack, 252SpAttack, 6 HP
Blizzard
Ice Shard
Wood Hammer
Protect
I checked the damage, and I'm pretty sure that Wood Hammer can OHKO both Kyogre and Groudon assuming I get a move in. Under Trick Room, I'm hoping that's possible. It also screws up the other team's attempts at weather control and can spam Blizzard.
I really can't find any flaw with this Abomasnow. It;s becoming more common to run 252 Attack, and Life Orb is good.
Giratina@Griseous Orb
Nature, EVs to be determined
Shadow Force
Draco Meteor
Shadow Sneak
Dragon Claw
Giratina-O can break through Protects with Shadow Force and hit the weaks of a lot of ubers. I can also switch Dialga out for it after the TR to take the Fighting and Ground moves shot at Dialga to get in for free. I'm not too sure on the Moveset, though, since it's basically a bunch of STAB moves... I need help on this, too.
I'll tell you my opinion: Mix sweepers are hard to pull off in VGC 2010 (barring Rayquaza), so you might want to replace Draco Meteor with something else (as for what, I can't really think of good options.
Should I go post this as an RMT thread, or is this okay? I'm really only lost on where to put TR and Giratina's set. Togekiss will run something defensive with no speed, I'm sure, so I'm not worried about that.
