how does a technician scyther work with aerial ace and life orb? technician helps boost aerial ace to 90, and life orb will go on top of that from the original 60 base stat or 90 x 1.5?

Technician boosts it to 90 and then STAB multiplier ups it to 135. Life Orb's 1.3x boost does not apply to base power; it's calculated elsewhere in the damage formula.

Anyway, it doesn't matter where each multiplier goes. (60*1.3) * 1.5 is the same as (60*1.5) * 1.3, or any other configuration.

Anyone know where I can find a list of banned movesets? Search function won't work for me.

the only moves I think are banned are Minimize and Double Team. eveything else just has limits (like you cant use hypnosis on 2 pokemon or something.) regardless, I'll look for a link.

He means things like using Belly Drum and Aqua Jet on Azumarill or Agility and Swords Dance with Baton Pass on Shedinja. I'm not sure where the list is, but when you use it in the Team Builder on Shoddy it tells you that it is illegal

Somewhere in the Little Cup subforum has the rules for what makes a moveset illegal. Use that in conjunction with the detailed learnsets from Bulbapedia or another site.

I know there was a thread in Stark Mountain that posted the the legal movesets for Pokemon in either HGSS or Platinum but I can't find it either. You could try going back through the threads.

I plan on making a Tailwind team. Obviously, it's for doubles....Does anyone have any good advice? Here is what I have:

Rotom - S (annoyance)
Suicune (set up, wall)
Butterfree (set up, support)
Marowak (sweeper)
Gliscor (set up, sweep, wall)

Marrowak can easily outrun Hasty Salamence w/ Tailwind, and he is the slowest.

I have general moves and items, but I'm mainly looking for advice on what some big threats are. I already know Intimidate......Y Gliscor has Hyper Cutter.

Still trying to pick for the last slot...probably another Pokemon who can set up Tailwind considering it's only 3 turns.....Charizard to stop ice types/Staraptor b/c it's my favorite Pokemon + Intimidate + CB Return 3HKOs Zong/Salamence b/c Intimidate + power (Another Pokemon to add a heavy ice weakness is not nice, though).

Maybe even Toge for support...

And is Shoddy 2 coming out around Fall?

I'm wondering if there is any way to differentiate a legitimate shiny Pokemon caught in game, like in Soul Silver for example, between a Pokemon that has been gamesharked on being shiny.

I can't find out anywhere and answers would be well appreciated

Very possible. The way shinies are produced means that legitimate shinies can only have certain Trainer ID, Secret ID, and IV combinations. (Badly) hacked shinies will have an illegal combination. I think the legitimacy checker, on the same site as Pokesav, will pick it up. If you can't use that, you'll have to use your own Gameshark to find out the Pokemon in question's Secret ID (no I don't know the code, and don't ask, Google), then check what the SID _should_ be by following the instructions here: http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/deducing_secret_id . If it's a mismatch the Pokemon is definitely a hack.

I don't have a gameshark and don't plan on ever getting one, this is merely to find out whether my mates shiny is legitimate or not. Thanks for the reply

There's no foolproof way; a sufficiently good hacker can make an undetectable hack. If you want to work out legitimacy of shininess without hacking yourself, you need to work out the SID of the game in which the shiny was caught, and unfortunately, that requires a legit shiny to compare against. You could try looking for other oddities in the Pokémon in question, instead (for instance, if it's a Chikorita in a Great Ball, something's wrong; likewise, if it has IVs higher than 31 or EVs adding to more than 510).

Thanks for the helpful input about the ES Dragonite, Lucalibur, Ford, and Neto-senpai! (Yeah, I know this is really late, but I haven't checked the boards all day and they really got away from me.)

Serebii.net is one of my favorite site and a good choice for all basic info. It is the best site I could think of, but the bulbapedia is another choice for multiple choices sake.

Also am I mad if I use a endeavor starly. (Like do you look down on people who use one?) Note: This starly would be used in game.

Alot of people frown upon "FEAR" Pokémon. They generally use a Focus Sash with Endeavor and Quick Attack, the most common example being Rattata. Although that Rattata is in the top percentage of Rattatas, it's still not good. Those Pokémon are really just gimmicks and people give them way too much credit.
