Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 24 (READ THE OP)

Ok, I swapped out my Modest Gible with a Naive nature one, which means both male and female are Naive nature and both posses flawless attack, sp.attack and speed.

x/31/x/31/x/31 (flawless attack, sp.attack and speed)
x/31/x/31/x/31 + x/31/x/31/x/31 = 253 638 / 3 932 160 = 6.4503479% = 1:16

Right now in the daycare, I have 1 in 16 off-springs with flawless attack, sp.attack and speed.
What are the chances if: -
I give both parents Everstones?
I give both parents different Power Items?

I am aiming for a Naive Gible with x/31/x/31/x/31 (flawless attack, sp.attack and speed) and relying on luck for strong defenses.

Your best bet would be using an everstone + a power bracer/lens since 1-2 everstones has the same 50% chance of passing down a nature and not having one only leaves you with about 4% chance of getting the right nature... Also, not using the power item for speed is the best idea since "Alert to sounds " is the safest caracteristic for getting multiple max ivs, and this way, withouth any iv battles you'll have good chances of having a pokemon with good nature and flawless 2 ivs, so getting the other max iv + other good ivs shouldnt be hard.
Hope that helps.

I also had a question but I forgot it >.> I'll edit if I remember what it was about.

P.S. Thank you Osostewie for the reminder about the event.

Does anyone has the gender, nature, ivs and ev spread of Frontier Head Palmer of HGSS challenge 1 pokemon?

Thanks.

if i bought an AR and used it to duplicate rare candies and some TMs would the pokemon i applied those to be considered hacked or illegal? and would it mess up my game at all?

No, they would be still be considered 100% legitimate.
It may mess up your game, but if you're careful and use every code with the given instructions, you should seldom have problems

If I restart Platinum, will I still have access to the room with the Rotom forme appliances? More clearly: will I still have the secret key, or will that go away? I believe that I already deleted the wonder card for the event.

Edit: and can rotom formes be traded between platinum and HGSS?
No; you'll lose access to that room.

And no--as soon as you try to trade them in any way between them, they'll transform back into normal Rotom.

I was at a DS tournament recently where two of the people showed me a shiny Magikarp that they claimed was from a legit download at a convention. It knew Octazooka, Spacial Rend, Zap Cannon, and (I believe) Hyper Beam. I thought they were joking and that it was a hack, but it was allowed into PBR, which I believe checks for illegal moves. They said it came at level 100, was holding an Everstone, was named "MurderKarp," and was offered as a download to people who paid $20 for this t-shirt. A Google search seems to indicate that this distribution did in fact happen, but does anyone have more information on it? It seems like it has to have been an unofficial/hacked WonderCard distribution, much like the "racist Gengar," as I've never heard of it before and I don't see Nintendo distributing a Pokémon with the word "murder" in its nickname, but that doesn't explain how it would pass the PBR hack check (although I have heard that Pokémon that are from a different OT can sometimes bypass the "illegal move" part of the hack check)...

Is this for real? Does anyone have more information on it?

No, it's not for real. It's most certainly a hack. And I don't have Pokémon Battle Revolution, so I cannot confirm or deny an illegal moveset checker in Pokémon Battle Revolution.

Although I do have Pokémon Stadium, which gladly accepts my Sky Attack or Water Gun Water Gun Kangaskhan, but puts my Kangaskhan's name in bright pink, along with my trainer name, and the illegal move name. So in Pokémon stadium, it's allowed, but the game knows something is off

Edit: It is possible that one person went and created their own event for it and tricked people into believing that it was legitimate and made people pay for it, when it was just a product of Pokésav or the likes

On the off chance that this is a serious post:

PBR does not have a built-in check for illegal moves. If it did, then it wouldn't be fully compatible with Platinum or HGSS because of new move tutors added in those games. If there is a move check on PBR, it is performed only when connecting to an online match.

This (the bold part) is exactly what I was thinking. It didn't sound legit to me at all, but as I updated my post to say, a Google search indicated that these people weren't the only people who claimed to have such a Pokémon, so I'm guessing it was a hacked distribution like the "racist Gengar."

Haha, it most certainly is a serious post... I'm not here to troll. I figured it was exactly what Royale with Cheese thinks it was. Your PBR comment definitely makes sense, as they could upload the online server for new move possibilities from new games or events, but obviously not the coding of the game that affects the offline battles.

So what was the 'Racist Gangar'? I've never heard of it.
I BELIEVE that the story was this: During the Arceus distribution at Nintendo World last year, some hackers sent out a Mystery Gift signal that was downloaded onto many people's games when they were attempting to download the Arceus. The gift was a shiny Gengar, whose nickname was a racial slur (the "N-word"). It was holding Black Sludge, had the Truant ability, had a Naughty nature, and it knew Sludge Bomb, Thief, Sucker Punch, and Snatch. There's a video of it on YouTube if you search for it. Nintendo issued a statement saying that they were not responsible for the distribution of this WonderCard and that such unofficial/hacked content can harm one's game.

I've also heard that the hackers were dressed in Team Rocket uniforms and were caught and removed from the building, but this (particularly the part about TR uniforms) could be complete B.S.

My competitive team has a major weakness to ice; two 4x weaknesses and two 2x weaknesses. Most of the Ice- attacks are easily sponged up by my Vaporeon, but if she somehow dies early on then I have nothing to take the attacks, because while Gengar isn't weak to it he isn't exactly a defensive tank.

I was thinking of taking out Togekiss (who is also my only team member weak to SR) and replacing it with a Pokemon that could take hits like Starmie's Ice Beam and Mamoswine's Ice Shard, because I'm having problems otherwise. I'm not really sure at all what to use, though. Anyone got any suggestions, other than Heatran? (which I've considered already)

Scizor resists Ice and hits Ice types hard with Bullet Punch, you could also consider a wall like Bronzong

Starmie usually carries Thunderbolt too.. so a water Pokemon seems out of the question. Same with Pokemon weak to Mamos EQ.

Bronzong. Spiritomb.

who's better to use in-game? Umbreon or Snorlax. Both are very solid for me.. but I dont need 2 pokemon that can do the same thing.. and almost have the exact same moveset.

It really depends on what you want, if you're worried about physical attacks use Umbreon, but for in-game I think being able to dish out damage really matters so I would use Snorlax.

Rotom-A:

There is no possible way to battle with him on the DS/Wii games without hacking, so why is he allowed on Shoddy battle?

Is there a limit to how much Smogon can change around the rules?

This probably isn't the place for it, but I thought all the basic stuff was enough (a la Pokemon Stadium). Sleep/Freeze Clause, Species clause, no ubers (now this is even changed around, you have people banning pokemon who have been allowed for a long time, like Salamence, and putting him in the same tier as....Kyogre, Mewtwo, and Rayquaza?).

Now there are a lot of rules, such as Evasion Clause, OHKO clause...there's already luck in the game, it's a part of pokemon, and obviously intended by Nintendo. Are these rules supported at official Nintendo tournaments? I thought in Japan they allow double team, sheer cold, etc.

Anyway, I digress. This is about Rotom-A. Can somebody please explain the logic with allowing a pokemon that cannot be used in vs. battles in the games? I'm tempted to use a slippery slope argument here and say smogon might start allowing illegal movesets if they deem it good for game balance.

Rotom-A is an integral part of the metagame - people are forming strategies and possibly even including counters in their team for a Pokemon that is ILLEGAL as far as battling goes.

Somebody explain this?

Rotom-A:

Really drawn out way to ask this simple question??

I don't know the answer since I don't play on the DS, but aren't you allowed to use the Rotom forms in standard vs. battles which is not over Wifi?

the secret key was already given away in Japan, meaning Rotom-A is a perfectly legal Pokemon; just not in America. Since Rotom-A is a legitamate Pokemon in Japan, there's no reason why we shouldnt have it implemented on Shoddy. See here for more info

Please help with breeding my Umbreon!!
Okay, so im playing Diamond on my DS.

I have a male smeargle that knows two moves, curse and wish. Im trying to breed these onto an Eevee then i intend to evolve it to Umbreon.

I have a female eevee that i've been breeding with the smeargle and when i hatch the eevee eggs they make the moveset is tackle tail whip helping hand and curse.

How do i breed it so that both wish and curse are in the moveset?

I tried deleteing all moves except for quick attack on the female eevee im using to breed but it was still the same result.

PLEASE HELP!

Yes but you still can't actually use Rotom-A in wifi battles.

It depends on what you want. Use the extra EVs for hp and make it a swords dancer with roost, the speed set I use with cb and u- turn which works great with swampert leads. Or stick on a life orb and sweep I guess.
Edit: I'm assuming you are going to evolve it. Check out the strategy pokedex for UU which I suck at.
