When breeding, are all 6 of the child's IVs passed down by the parents? Thanks in advance.
Also, is Slaking with Choice Band Giga Impact viable if you are sure that all of the ghost-types on the opposing team are down?

Last question about Magic Coat, the move tutors at the battle frontier will not offer Magic Coat to my Primeape or my Houndoom. Is there some kind of task to complete to have them show all the moves?

1) No, only 3 IVs are passed down and these IVs may overlap (since Emerald).
2) I played Slaking with Giga Impact, too, but I don't think that it is good choice anymore. There are still some non-ghost Pokémon, which can survive Choice Banded Giga Impact, but it isn't the biggest problem. The problem is, that you aren't able to switch after Giga Impact (and Return is usually enough).

madvorak:

In the HeartGold and SoulSilver versions, the IVs inherited are always different. It was probably intended this way in the Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum versions, too, but a bug kept it from working this way.

Please see my previous post.

In the HeartGold and SoulSilver versions, the baby inherits IVs from 3 different stats. It was probably intended this way in the Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum versions, too, but a bug kept it from working this way. Due to the implementation in those three versions, the baby could inherit from any stat other than HP more than once.

Thx, I didn't know that. But the important information is that all 6 IVs aren't passed down (3 stats total, not 3 stats from every parent).

Where do I get salac berry without pokewalker on Pearl or Soul Silver?

If I remember correctly you can get it in Soul Silver by going to Viridian City and in that battle basement (?), where you can fight this guy with Meganium, Feraligatr and Thyplosion. I think it was Thyplosion who is holding a Salac Berry so you must use a pokemon with Thief to steal it.

I'm not sure if that works in the Trainer House, as I think it follows Battle Frontier rules when it comes to hold items (as in, you always leave with what you started with).

Valid point. If this is true (which I think it is) then there is no other way to obtain a Salac Berry then with the pokewalker.

Assuming Breloom has an IV stat of 31 in HP, what is the highest number of EVs I can use to still recieve the maximum benifit from Poison Heal/Toxic Orb?

The advised number appears to be 236 HP EVs.
Thanks, now for part two of the question.

I will be using the said Breloom in a TR team, so withh the 252 EVs in Atk, and the 236 in HP, where would the rest of those leftover EVs go since none of them will be needed in Speed?

Breloom has OKish Base 80 Defense so I would put those EVs there, that way Breloom can do decent at shrugging off Earthquakes, Stone Edges and Waterfalls.

Hi, I rarely leave the Wi-fi forums (this is the first time) but, I just decided I want to make a good battle tower team. So far: Life orb starmie with ice beam, thunder bolt, surf, and psychic. I also have a leftovers umbreon with toxic, payback, protect, and moonlight. The only problem is getting a third pokemon. Any suggestions?

Wow. This thread is slower then I thought it would be.

I suggest a bug/electric resist. Ummm...in order or preference there's Gliscor, Steelix and Camerupt lol.
