Seems like everyone and their brother is coming back from TJ these days. Strasburg will probably return fine, just a couple early years lost in the grand scheme of things, but I am sick of hearing about how oh-so-fucking-woeful it is for all of baseball and whatnot. Fuck the hype.

Lol Astros, and damn the Giants for even letting the Phillies get a sniff of a postseason opportunity...

itt nobody knows what the inverted W motion is and 80%+ of pitchers who throw with it have long injury careers aka kerry wood, mark prior, john smoltz, strasburg, aj burnett, anthony reyes

this is a great article/compilation f blog posts for over 2 years about Strasburg and his upcoming injuries, predicted by this guy who did a lot of research with the "inverted w" pitching motion. it really is fascinating.

Some of the most dominant pitchers in baseball had tommy johns, Josh Johnson, Chris Carpenter, Tim Hudson, and Carl Pavano all have had them. And they come out as good as ever

Reading that article was fascinating, and I'm glad to see that more pitching coaches are referencing video and 3d motion capture data (including my own coach). It's fascinating that some of these experts can tell if an athlete will be injury prone or not simply by seeing images or video. In fact, my coach was making the same predictions in june as Chris oleary was.
Anyways, I hope steve can overcome this and wish him all the best.

that was a very nice read and my interest for baseball this season has been at an all time low partly because this is the first year the angels have stunk it up so bad in a while, i even stopped attending games after the all star break lol

that was a very nice read that I've actually seen before and my interest for baseball this season has been at an all time high partly because this is the first year the reds have owned it up so hard in a while, but i still didn't attend any games after the all star break lol because i only go to one or two games a year and they were both before the break

[required Aroldis Chapman hype]

He was hitting 103 on his fastball, Dear God.

^the Mets are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of you

worst run franchise in MLB, including the Astros.

nyjer morgan is OUT OF HIS FUCKING MIND. first he gets suspended for 7 games for throwing a baseball at a fan (he's appealing). then he seperates brett hayes (marlins catcher) shoulder. now he's charging the mound after being thrown behind. does he want to be banned from baseball?

Nyjer Morgan what a (BAN ME PLEASE). I really hope he gets suspended because its been utter bullshit what he's been pulling the past couple of games.

On that note how fucking AWESOME was Gaby Sanchez close-lining him at the mound?

It's the Mets' fault we're no longer in the running for a top three pick next year... Sheesh. Damn them.

I ain't gonna lie. That was an interesting fight!, it reminded me a lot of that fight Coco Crisp had with James Shield Lmao!.

Nyer tried to pull a Coco Crisp by charging the mound and throwing his guard up waiting for that 1 knock out punch!, the pitcher weaved his shit. Then you see Gaby Sanchez close lining him!

Man! Shit was pretty intense.

i can't quite blame nyjer for getting angry at being thrown at twice...apparently, the Marlins take it upon themselves to serve as the overseers and guardians of The Integrity of Baseball -- they had plunked him earlier in the game in retaliation for Brett Hayes's injury (and the play wasn't even "dirty"), to which Morgan responded by stealing 2 bases and scoring on a sac fly. apparently, you're not supposed to steal after you've been hit with a retaliatory pitch? of course, that led to him being thrown at again and then the charge. i can't blame the anger, but charging the mound when you're already appealing a 7 game suspension PLUS guilty of a potentially "dirty" play made one day earlier is stupid.

someone should write a book listing all the unwritten rules of baseball if they don't want those rules to be broken.

Cruz and Kinsler are finally back from injury...About time that we are almost full strength barring a few niggling injuries (Cliff Lee). We sure haven't looked like a divison leader in the time they've been out!

Cole Hamels, you have earned my respect. He truly has matured this year. I remember back at the beginning of the season, he was getting a lot of flak from Phillies fans for, in general, being a bitch (And also only using two goddamn pitches every game!). We hoped that Roy's presence would help him grow. It boy has. The true test however has been the atrocious lack of run support he had over the last 2 1/2 months.

Now with him and Oswalt finishing hot along with Roy Halladay, this team is going to make some noise in the postseason.

Oh and only one game back for the division lead! Tomorrow has Halladay on the mound and the Braves face Josh freaking Johnson LOL

How many games do umpires need to cost teams...fucking seriously, that was an absolutely dreadful call and robbed the chance for our most clutch hitter to step up to the plate with bases loaded and two-outs. Words really can't describe how annoyed I am at this point in time...
