And the saddest part is we just got three amazing trailers mere days ago.

On a somewhat random note, I came up with some stat spreads for the cover legends that I'm hoping/predicting they might have, based on their appearance, past uber stat patterns, and our limited knowledge of them.

Reshiram: 100/90/90/140/140/120 Resh just looks very specially-oriented to me, and the designs of the cover legends engine/turbine tails seem to suggest they will be faster than the majority of (non-Mewtwo) 680 BST legends, though I'm guessing Reshiram may be a bit faster. With this spread it outspeeds many significant threats and makes for a strong special sweeper that can switch in easily on the common special electric and grass moves of ubers.

Zekrom: Something like 100/140/140/120/90/90 or 100/140/120/120/90/110 would be pretty cool. The armored appearance suggests physical bulk along with the predicted high attack and is a counterpart to Reshiram's special orientation, similar to Groudon and Kyogre, except they are both more sweeper-oriented with their higher speed. 120 sp.atk still lets Zekrom abuse Thunder or go mixed like Dialga and Palkia.

Also, does anyone know if those rumours about Gouka and Zuzarai, Reshiram and Zekrom's Signature Moves, were confirmed as true or false?
Because the supposed 100 BP and 80% acc. are pretty underwhelming for an uber's signature move, unless they have like an 80% chance to burn or paralyze, otherwise it's basically the same as the dreaded Stone Edge, which is pretty sad since they could just use Thunder and Fire Blast. I only ask because of the new awesome and apparently signature attacks that they were shown using in the latest trailers; I don't remember whether the move details were confirmed as legitimate or not.

An equivalent to a STAB Stone Edge would seem pretty underwhelming for signature moves. I assume they have something to do with TurboBlaze/TeraVoltage. (Which I think will make Fire/Electric moves always a critical hit when below 1/2 HP). Or something like that.
 
n00b question time: How are all of the new B/W pokemon going to tiered on Shoddy? Like, for example, will they all be dumped into OU to see who goes where, or will there be a bit of theorymoning beforehand to tier them?

Theorymoning and looking at BSTs. Zekrom and Reshiram with their near unresisted typing (Shedinja, Magnezone, Steelix/Heatran, Empoleon) and massive BSTs are pretty much guranteed Uber.

I think he was more referring to the suspects like latias and shaymin-s, who are probably going to be in OU first and then tested. (just specuating)

also, empoleon resists neither of their dual STABs and making one list for both of them is kinda confusing.

reshiram=resisted by Heatran

Zekrom=resisted by magnezone, Steelix, Shedinja

which can be considered unresisted as the only one really used in ubers is tran who can easily be destroyified by a simple EQ/earth power (im almost certain reshiram will get both)

If the BP and acc are both correct, perhaps they'll have access to abilities or items that augment their signature moves. Or maybe their signature moves WILL suck but they'll have a formidable arsenal of moves to choose from regardless.

I'm more interested in more trailers featuring battles. Yeah, those recent trailers were pretty great, but not exactly everything I was waiting for.

Also, I'm going to lol when the entire new roster is dropped into BL again. Didn't it stay like that until Platinum came out?
 
I have a feeling we're just going to keep all of the current Uber Pokemon in Uber and lump the not obviously Uber new Pokemon into OU until the metagame starts to settle; then we'll have suspect tests.

Also, I would be fairly excited for Musicals, but right now, they seem to involve even less strategy than Super Contests.

The general consensus seems to be that all Suspects will start out OU, along with all other metagame changes and trends introduced in Gen V. In other words, we will likely be dealing with:

-Garchomp
-Salamence
-Shaymin-S
-Deoxys-S
-Manaphy
-Latias
-Latios

once again, but have new tools to help out. I think we might additionally see Wobbuffet and Deoxys-D drop down, but that is uncertain.

Well, I was referring to both, actually, but placing the suspects in OU when the new games come out seems like an alright idea. Thanks for clearing that out.

Shouldn't Latios and Deoxys-S be left alone in ubers? Soul Dew essentially gives Latios a free Calm Mind boost and Deoxys would instantly be broken IMO

Latias might stay, same with Mence, but it seems unlikely that Deoxys-S, Manaphy, Skymin, and Chomp will stay. Deoxys-S is essentially free spikes, Manaphy is too exploitable in the rain, Skymin has a ridiculous rate to HARSHLY lower SpeD, and I don't see anything to stop Chomp.
 
Was Manaphy even banned for its use in the Rain? Kyogre is the only thing that can set up permanent Rain, and it will always be Uber, and Tail Glow/Surf/Ice Beam/Grass Knot grants perfect coverage against everything but Shedinja.

I think Salamence could drop back down, but Garchomp, Lati@s, and Skymin will probably need hard counters to drop. Deoxys-S will probably only drop if there's a Pokemon that can always take out the Dual Screen and Spiker Lead sets without Deoxys-S doing much in return.
 
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Soul Dew clause is always in effect, regardless if one or more of the Latis are banned or not.

^ I think Manaphy might be able to make it down. It seems that they're trying to increase the prevalence of sand and sun in the games, which reduces Manaphy's overall effectiveness. As for Garchomp, the only counter I see for him so far is our Mold Breaker Dragon friend, but that's pretty much all we know about that guy so it's hard to say at this point.

Neither Latios or Latias were every allowed in OU with their Soul Dew.

As for Deoxys-S...that is really all it does. It's spike-setting abilities are dealt with in Ubers, and who's to say that entry hazards will hold the same importance come 5th gen.

I look forward to seeing Chomp again, but I imagine it won't be for too long.

Manaphy was banned even without Rain Support (stage 3-3, I think), but all of that might change with the generational revamp (especially since Hydration is already looking to be more widespread).

Skymin may have been "too strong" for 4th gen OU, but we don't know what 5th gen holds, and the same goes for Deoxys-S.

Part of the reason I refrain from predicting how they will fare is because, well, we don't know what Gen V's metagame will look like.

True, but short of a Pokemon that can get rid of spikes/stealth rock without Rapid Spin, it's difficult to see Entry Hazards being any less important.

Bronzong has the optional ability (And greatly preferred at that.) to Levitate. Magnet Rise would only critically hamper Bronzong's moveset if you use a Heatproof set. After all, Bronzong can do a lot of support, but can't do much with just three moves. It's similar to how Muk has four-moveslot-syndrome as well.

Registeel, um, no thanks. That thing shouldn't be harder to kill than it already is.

Don't they alreay get Magnet Rise from the Tutor? And Bronong already has Levitate and Registeel would remain UU, if it doesn't have it already, because no one uses it outside of trapping Steels.
 
DDRMaster, I think you are thinking of another Pokémon. Registeel can't trap Steel-types. It doesn't have Magnet Pull.

I meant that it's only useful on Magnezone and Probopass when they want to trap things like Bronzong and Aggron, which is why Registeel would never use it.
 
Bulbapedia's translations always seem to make more sense than anyone else's.
I was just browsing the entries and noticed, that for them, Encourage = Brute Force.
That seems a lot more reasonable for an ability that boosts the power of moves and removes any 'finesse' in the form of effects.
I have no idea how faithful it is to the original Japanese though.
