Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

It's basically just the same as DPPt. You just use Elm to advance the frame instead of using the Journal. There's no way to stop the NPCs if you've already battled them, so you just have to deal with that. Sweet Scent advances the frame differently too, see this post for more information. Other than that though, it's the same as DPPt.
Oh! Sorry, I have no experience with it in D/P/Pt either. Totally new to this. Just looking for a guide to get me started. I can do pretty much all other forms of RNGabuse (stationary legendary, roaming legendary, breeding for shinyness/nature/IVs/etc, pokewalker, ID/SID) with ease, but have never tried like tall grass captures.

Tall grass is very easy. Do the same as you would for a standing legendary, however you must advance to a frame that will have an encounter slot for your target pokemon (right click the frame to find encounter slots). Then you account for the sweet scent advancing your frame one extra in HGSS, which makes you have to stop 2 ahead of your target frame, and then you use sweet scent (while on a bike, never with a pokemon following) and you should have your target pokemon show up if you did it right. Edit: Make sure you're saved on the grass, of course.

I have been trying to get an HP ground 70 Timid Jirachi for well over 10 hours and at least 40 successful frame hits. I have obtained every nature BUT Timid and some of them 3 times or more. This is getting to be very frustrating...

So...I am pretty sure I am just unlucky but I wanted to check anyways. Is it possible that it is more difficult to get a certain nature while abusing a random nature wondercard?

OmegaD wasn't able to get a modest one.

I see...well that is too bad because I was able to get that one twice! Grrr...

Edit: Does he have the one I want? If so, do you think he would be willing to trade it for a Modest one if I get it again?

That could still be unluckiness, but I'd suggest switching your seed. I don't believe there's anything that would limit what natures you get, but it couldn't hurt to try a different seed.

Well, I may have tried that but I just got a Timid nature!!!! Thank goodness. ^_^. Thanks for your help guys.

Also, you have a lot of nice Pokes Mattj.

The ones I did took days to get. :(

EDIT: Wow. Missed a whole conversation >.<

Is Giratina's Room in Turnback Cave an area with no wild pokemon or an a area with wild pokemon? I know Giratina itself is wild... but there's no other pokemon you can run into in that room, so I'm unsure...

If there's no wild pokemon in that area, then it's an area with no wild pokemon. You'd walk the 128steps to advance the RNG.

When I set my time on the DS does it need to be to the exact MILLI SECOND or just the second cuz I'm having no luck in hittin my delay. Any advice in hitting it more effectively?

I was able to hit it when I RNGed for the Shiny/Nature/Ability part.

But it seems RNGing for the IVs is having no mercy with me...

It would be easy if it were only the second. I guess just keep trying or try pikatimer.

lol, how would I go about catching an exeggcute (headbutt only) in HG? One of the places it appears is on route 48, which has no NPCs.

So on a bike is ALWAYS one?

Its 1 for sweet scent and 1 for battle so you have to STOP the frame advancements 2 before your target frame
(so if i want a pokemon on frame 102 i stop my frame advancements pn 100 and sweet scent on my bike)

Hey there! Im new to the site, and RNG. Im first learning to rng legendaries in heart gold. I understand the majority of things, but i need some help. In the "seed to time finder" i always get even delays after putting my seed in. I believe i read that you can only get an even delay if you have a GBA cartridge in, which i unfortunately dont own one any more; therefore i need to be getting odd delays from my seed (Maybe im mistaken?). I also am unsure of frames.. If someone would be kind enough to PM me and give me step-by-step instructions, that would be great. Ive tried youtube vids, and scouring some of the 1,079 pages of this thread, but im so lost.. Im super sorry if this is the wrong place to post this type of question, please notify me if this does not go here. Thank you.

Not from what I found. Capturing on grass for me is always +1. Just like Sweet scenting in the water for me is always +2. You just have to do a trial run to see what frame it is on for you as it varies for different cartridges.
