Official NBA 2010-11 Season Thread

oh man i dont even know how you can even begin to defend a kobe maturity debate

#1: constantly whines on the court, no exceptions. literally always has a bad facial expression for every call that doesnt go his way
#2: off court issues: aka he raped a girl. enough said.
#3: is not as good as he is given credit for. never EVER shot more than 46% for a season (durant has already done it once, jordan 7-8 times). literally did not do shit with his team after shaq left and before gasol came. lebron singlehandedly got his team to the FINALS with a mediocre at best supporting cast... and then finished top 4 almost every year after that.
(just for reference, lebron has only had ONE year where he shot UNDER 47%.. which was his rookie year.)

tl;dr: kobe is a (BAN ME PLEASE), lebron is a better at basketball (BAN ME PLEASE)
*Sigh... You are ranting about a topic nobody even cares about anymore.... Maybe you should learn to spell Vujacic before you are taken serious again

Also its funny when people try to say Kobe raped a girl hes a terrible human being but because I watch Lebron play hes my best friend and I know hes the greatest human alive! Seriously, besides one mistake Kobe made what has he done that labels him tainted? He went a little far with a white girl, the case was DROPPPED due to insufficient evidence....

Also really? Kobes the only one that whines about calls huh? So I guess when Lebron was losing by almost 30 last season to the Celtics andd was jumping up and down like a monkey when he didnt get a call slipped everybodies mind right? He whines too, just like every competitive-loud player does... Garnett does it to, so do other players... get over it

I just had to LOL at this post... this is why idiots know nothing about basketball so im gonna break this down

The year Lebron played in the Finals can you even name any good team that was in the East besides the Pistons? The Magic and Celtics were still near bottom feeders, and the Pistons were the only respectable team left. Besides that, Z was an all-star (and I might be wrong on this since I dont wanna bother looking it up, but I know it was either this season or the year before), and guys like Drew Gooden and Gibson were servicable (not to ention Gibson played on a completely higher level in the playoffs)... If you think guys like Chris Mihm/Smush Parker are even close to servicable starters then you must be crazy

are you just gonna ignore that kobe literally has to chuck shots all game in order to keep up his facade of being able to score a lot of points, regardless of the efficiency of those points? i didnt think so.

Also, i think when the second leading scorer on your fucking NBA finals team is LARRY HUGHES you have a fucking problem. Not to mention ilgauskas is one of the most overrated centers in the past 5 years. He does some things well and rebounding is one of them, but he has little else except a midrange shot. Drew Gooden sucks at basketball, i dont know why you would even mention him, and Gibson was literally TENTH in minutes played for the whole year

Kobe made dumb PR moves when he was younger. He got over it.

Lebron made dumb PR moves this summer. Hopefully, he'll get over it too.

People complain about calls all the time. I guess those of you complaining about this never played basketball with friends. "You fouled me", "That was out of bounds", "That's a 3"; you've seriously never argued with friends about this? It's a competition. People get fired up. They want to win. They want calls to go their way. Kobe/Lebron aren't the only ones who complain about calls. The only time this is a problem is when the player is complaining more than he's playing.

The incredible amount of bias for/against players some of you have is astounding at times. If you're going to use stats to back something up, use them in context.

Larry Hughes was a former all star.... Z was still a decent center when they made the Finals, and Drew Gooden was servicable... You cant seriously argue that was worse than Kobe's support along with the fact they played in a joke of an East that year... Kobe's 45 wins that year woulda been good for a 3-4 seed in the East that year but instead he was a 7th seed in the obviously better West.

Also are you seriously trying to say Kobe really cant score the ball? The simple reason his fg% isnt as good as Lebrons is based on the fact he takes way more outside shots than Lebrick does. He takes bad shots, but he scores at will other times. I'd like you to prove otherwise whos better than Kobe at scoring the ball, and I mean game proof not subjective numbers that dont tell the whole story

At this point ive accepted the fact that most people who post havent ever played basketball, let alone watch it enough to know what they are talking about... Stat rats just make me LOL and cant even spell vujacic right... Its funny when people think im a Kobe/Laker homoer too.... I am at times, but I am probably the first person to trash this team when they are making simple mistakes, I guess people should actually read everything I say instead of reading my username and making assumptions

Bosh will probably have a few superstar-esque games this season. It's not like he completely lost the ability to shoot the basketball just because he's had a bad stretch to start the season.

as a side note, I am really excited for this season's Mavs. If Beaubois progresses along and Rick Carlisle actually gives him/Jones some minutes, the Mavs will have a balanced starting line up with a serious bench.

oops lol, was supposed to be homer... I think my point got acrossed anyway

Anyway, of course hes gonna have good games but its only going to come against mediocre/mid-level teams... Unless their offense dramatically changes against good teams I dont see why he can be a 20-10 guy against good teams

that may be so, but now you're making a completely different point than what you said earlier about "Bosh" and "takeover" never happening again. anything can happen.

Well him having a big game doesnt mean he will "takeover". He wont takeover a game, its guaranteed. He could have a few 24-10 games or better, but at no point will he just takeover a game it wont happen with Lebron on this team

The one and only. <3 I'm assuming you're Ghostanime, considering the usernames you had before haha.

Also wanna mention that it really is a shame that Carlos Boozer is out for a while. I mean, damn, look at Rose taking all those shots for the team (zing!).

wall for rookie of the year imo

i dont think the heat will do as good as everyone is expecting, there is only one ball

I just learnt that at Wizards games, to get the fans to boo during opponents free throws they put the Dallas Cowboys logo on the big screen. That's actually really clever and kind of funny too!

You guys may be like "omg band wagon" but i'm a big lakers fan (i live in california get off my nuts) and i could just quote everything lakers had said in this discussion so far because it's all true. but i won't.

damn, a bandwagon lakers fan agreeing with a homer lakers fan, what a surprise!

bobcats awesome except that sjack gets like 3 techs every game

My Nets came short!!!!! ffffff.

If they don't start making more shots, they will blow!

So many opportunity against the shitty Bobcats and they blew it!

yeah the bobcats sure are shitty, winning with their best shooter only shooting 2/12 for the entire game

This Celtics/Bucks game is awesome.

Rondo just broke the record for most assists in the first 5 games of the season.

Pierce is 1 point away from 20,000 points in his career.

Overtime. :O
