winter sucks

Indoor sports yeah!
Anyways, here in NJ we've gotten huge amounts also. Did you guys hear about the next storm on Tuesday?

I'm near Camden, and it's only supposed to be a mix down here, maybe an inch accumulation at the most. Where are you at?

I didn't take any pictures, but the snow we got last week wasn't too awful. About a foot, and it only took me an hour to shovel myself clear of my parking space. I actually came home after work and shoveled some more, clearing out a random reserved spot and a guest spot for Christina to park in. It's good exercise, I actually enjoy the shoveling to an extent. What I hate is trying to clear a foot of snow off the top of your car with that tiny ass brush in your trunk that is barely enough to brush your teeth with. I keep a pushbroom handy for just this purpose, and it works so much better.

BE WARNED - Do not use your snow shovel to clear the top of your car. You WILL scratch it. Now my trunk looks like it got keyed :(

Everybody complaining about snow and cold, come here to Brazil, specifically Rio de Janeiro. Far from the beaches obviously. The lowest temperature last week was 34 degrees Celsius (93,4 degrees Fahrenheit). Obviously it's summer here, but even winter is hellish hot. Even the name of my city is suggestive: Queimados (Burned ones, in english).

the Midwest is expecting a huge blizzard this week, like upwards of eighteen inches. I am definitely pumped for this, and I will post pictures when the snow starts to kick in. 50mph gusting winds too, so there will be drifts everywhere. personally I love summer over winter, but I can't help but enjoy when the weather gets insane and rampages.

That's odd, how do you like that?

And then the storm is coming up here into the Northeast. I'm actually starting to get tired of snow days. And because every snow day is made up at the end of the year, school is going to be lasting until July at this rate. Ugh...

Yeah, we're supposed to get 10-16 more inches Wednesday night. Although, if you saw the pics I already posted of the day in which we got 34 inches, this coming storm will be nothing more than a dusting to us.

storms are so fun! I was in maryland during katrina time, and though baltimore wasn't hit as badly as other areas we still got big, fat rain drops, and hail. I ran around in it though, it was so awesome sloshing through flooded streets and barely being able to see. blizzards/ice storms are awesome to wake up to, look outside and see your world looking vastly different. in high school, school was cancelled one day because of there being freezing rain throughout the night, and then it all froze over immediately. it was sooo beautiful, everything sparkled. thunderstorms are my favorite though, especially in the summer. warm, summer rain and rolling clouds of thunder and lightning, aaah. <3

Oh I get some massive ones here in Alberta, very occasionally with thunder and lightening. In the last two days it went from +5C to -21C with like 1 foot and a half of snow. It's so cold my fucking car gets frost on the INSIDE windshield. I was just hoping to escape it with a slightly "more tropical" climate in NYC, Baltimore and Washington.

I think we've had about 60 inches of snow since winter began. There aren't many places left where they can dump the snow.

I expect the icicles to be twice as long after the ice storm we will be getting tomorrow and Wednesday.

Snowpocalypse is coming to New Hampshire on Wednesday. There will be pictures!

Hell yes.

It's estimated that Michigan will be getting 10-15 inches on Wednesday and Thursday. Here's to getting the rest of the week off due to snow-days.

Last year, Baltimore got hit with an insane blizzard. We were clobbered with about five feet of snow, and class was actually cancelled at JHU for a week! Baltimore really doesn't know how to handle snowstorms at all... we ran out of salt after the first DAY, and I swear there are as many snow plows in Boston as there are in the whole state of Maryland...

Ugh, yeah supposed to be 30cm over the course of tomorrow night. I was too lazy to go grocery shopping so will have to go right after work tomorrow and hope for the best :( Don't want to leave for the mall for the rest of the week.

Here is the forecast for the major upcoming storm:

SNOWSTORM ANGRY! SNOWSTORM SMASH!

Here in Massachusetts we've been getting snow once every 3-5 days this season. The entire region and the mid west were above their seasonal averages before January even ended. The weather channel is already declaring this storm "Historic." Now there's an adjective you never want put in front of the word "Storm."

The purplish area is the area projected to have over a foot of snow. It's 2100 miles. Pretty sure the storm is so large it could cover the entirety of Europe.

I'M PUMPED ABOUT THIS

No, I'm just kidding. Every year around this time my parents leave for a couple weeks and I have to take care of the house. And every fucking year this coincides with the biggest snowstorm of the year so I have to deal with it. And wouldn't you know it, here we are again! I guess I'll post pics, possibly of a noose I make out of an icicle.

winter DOES sucks.

THIS STORM IS GONNA BE KICK ASS

my room is in the basement but idgaf because i just got this bitchin' space heater that looks like a fireplace, with fake fiery flames too!! although i swear to god if my university isn't cancelled for the day on wednesday when the storm is supposed to be at its worst, i will be so annoyed and probably not risk my life driving to school anyway

When it gets to summer you will wish you still had some snow(and the way things are going maybe you will), all those old buildings get up to like 85 degrees, and 80% humidity or something awful like that. No A/C last time I was there anyway.
