winter sucks

itt i get more and more jealous because IT NEVER FUCKING SNOWS here.

also winter >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> summer.

We've had the most snow here in Connecticut since before most of you were born, and to see how tall the snow is makes for more dangerous driving along with more limited parking as well as narrower pathways for drivers and pedestrians alike.

I can imagine there's frustration in having graduate classes cancelled more frequently due to the weather as I know it can be tedious to make up for one lost class schedule.

I grew up in Hawaii my whole life, where the weather is more or less the same all year 'round. My grandma just sent me a letter thanking me for the socks I sent, which she always wears in the "Freezing 60 F degree (16 C) weather!" lol Hawaii is awesome-- the sun rises at 6:30 and sets at 6 almost uniformly all year long; it almost never gets colder than 65 degrees, and almost never hotter than 90 degrees (heck, high 86s would be rare). It's perfect.

Now living in Japan, I can agree with what Nasty said quite well:

Summer is just...ugh, I don't really know how to describe it.
Personally, I would prefer being too cold than being too hot. Being too hot makes me feel nauseated, like I want to puke. I've always wondered if anybody else gets that feeling.
It doesn't help that where I live, summers are excruciating. Often peaking 100 degrees, there's also 95%+ humidity a good chunk of the time.
Winters here are also pretty bad, but I kind of enjoy being cold, even to the point that I don't like wearing a coat in below-freezing weather.
You can always put on more layers to get warmer, but you can't always take off more to get colder, I guess. That's what I mostly don't like about summer.

There are things I like and dislike about both.

Yeah, this is pretty much describing my feelings about the area of Japan I live in.

The summers here are so excruciatingly hot, even with snow and cold day in and day out (I saw some 3 foot long icicles today!) I still end up thinking, "well, it could be worse."

Going snowboarding all the time is pretty awesome though. Photos soon maybe.

The REALLY hot summer days (high 30s - low 40s, this is in Celcius itt) really piss me off unless I get an oppurtunity to go swimming, which is usually the case since it's almost always on public holidays for some strange reason. I've been to Europe a few weeks ago though, and I have to say I hate the REALLY cold winter days more.

Aw man, I should have taken pictures of this one huge icicle hanging off my windowsill just a few days ago. This thing was just enormous, at least 6 feet long, and had like, 3 pointed ends. It looked positively deadly, and was totally awesome. Icicles are one of my favorite parts of winter, for sure.

I adore Winter, I love snow, and I refuse to move out of this area. It is rare that I wake up on Christmas Day and see green outside, but when I do, it's the most depressing thing. Winter without snow seems blasphemous to me.

Icicle, the most perfect murder tool. It leaves no finger prints, and eventually no evidence. It also OHKO's Garchomp.

Melekalikimaka is the thing, to say, on a bright, Hawaiian Christmas day
That's the island greeting that we send to you, from the land where palm trees sway
Here we know that Christmas will be, green and bright!
The sun to shine by day and all the, stars by night~!
Melekalikimaka is Hawaii's way, to say a merry Christmas, to you~!

Toronro's set to get some pretty decent snow this week, I'm looking forward to that. The only downside is that I'm too young to drive and thus I have to rely on public transportation to get to school :/

Miami has these weird tempature changes. One day it's 90, the next is 40. (This happened on Winter 09 and 10)

Michigan winters suck balls.I have to shovel/blow the snow almost every other day. We got a fucking 16 inch storm coming on tuesday night. On top of the 4 inches we got 2 days ago.

Fuck Ontario indeed. Tired of this shit =[ I could hardly use my keys to get my door open when I got home today because my fingers were numb.

was planning on snapping some photos of my backyard and front-yard. nobodys even been out the backdoor because you cant open it. My dad still has christmas decorations up in the frontyard because they have literally been covered since christmas. Theres about a 4-5 foot fence of snow surrounding the driveway, and one of my neighbors hasnt bothered to dig out his sedan in any of the storms, and its no longer visible. hopefully get some pics/remember to take them

Yeah, it's the same for me. I absolutely LOVE looking out my window and seeing snow...then reality sets in and I realize "fuck, there's snow? Now I have to clean it up." I can do without the cold, but if you asked me the same question this summer, my answer would be "Winter? Can't wait!"

It hasn't been too bad here (Scranton); it's more ice than snow where I am - icicles all over the roof (which are easy to knock down), but, since you can't get rid of them completely in certain places, they're dripping on the sidewalk (and the driveway), which, unfortunately, freezes. Cue me throwing a shitload of Quik Joe and getting the ice chopper. It's a daily pain in the ass.

I was taking out the garbage a few days ago, and the top of the driveway was AWFUL. I keep the cans to the side of the garage for easy access, and it...wasn't. I thought I was gonna fall on my ass - stupid me didn't turn the outside light on (was around 7 I think?), so I walked where all the ice was. After spending like 5 minutes trying to move a few inches with a stable foothold, I got the first bag in the can, then went back for the next. That was much easier, especially when I remembered to TURN THE GODDAMN OUTSIDE LIGHT ON.

I agree winter sucks, for me summer > winter, even though in my home country (Bahrain), it's HOT in summer, and not THAT cold in winter. In Jordan(where I study), however it is cold in winter and it did snow near us this year.

Just this last week: On Sunday, temperatures here pushed 75 degrees. Tomorrow we are getting a strong ice storm with projected temperatures in the -10 range.

And rey, the first girl in the coat is cuter anyways :P

I live in NYC, and in these past two months we had 15 inches of snow TWICE. I used to enjoy snow when I was young, but now it makes traveling around the city a pain in the ass.

Gotta agree with ya. I can't function in hot weather. I become lethargic and irritable. I love the cold weather though. I never feel cold, and it's so nice to snuggle and be warm on a cold night.

I live in Australia, where the temperature goes up and down like a rollercoaster. There's a popular saying: "four seasons in one day." It NEVER snows down here either...

I went on a trip to some mountain a couple of years ago and I saw my first snow there. I was expecting heaps of it everywhere, but we arrived too late. There was only a single tiny patch left next to the road.

It was yellow.

I'd imagine 15 inches would be a pain in the ass. Especially two of them.

God I get you chaos. Yesterday it was 60 degrees and I was like "ugh can I even roll the windows down???" I jest I totally rolled the windows down.

<3 snow, unfortunately we don't get much

Istanbul has a pretty horrible climate. It's covered by the sea from 3 sides, so humidity is always over %85-90. In summer temperatures raise to 35-40 degrees Celsius. Ugh.

It snows like 3-4 times each winter here but accumulation on ground is uncommon, like once in 2 winters.
