Scrafty

I still think its funny gamefreak decided to give this Gecko Dragon Dance even though it has no relation to dragons other than being a lizard but they decided to not give it to Flygon or Sazandora.

You might think that dragon dance sets would be better as he already has great defences (albeit sub par hp) average attack and low speed. However a set of
Zuruzukin@leftovers ability shed skin
252Hp 224Spd 32Speed
Bulk up
Rest
Brick Break
Crunch

NEVER dies. This survives specs overheat from timid shandera 100% of the time at full hp. Over fifty percent of the time even after stealth rocks. This means you can rest it off and then take the -2 hit fairly easily. Bulk up bolsters his nice defence and lets face it poor attack for a sweeper. After 1 bulk up you hit 334Hp 324 attack 399 defence and 322 special defence. He gets almost perfect coverage with his stab resisted by heracross and toxicroak. The 32 speed evs allow him to outrun tyranitar with 4 speed evs as well as swampert. If they dont have a powerful fighting type, 2 powerful special attackers or if you get incredibly unlucky with shed skin healing status you will sweep. He resists stealth rock can shed toxic spike poison and dosnt mind t wave also rest +shed skin = pretty nice healing. Ive tried him he works wonders.

This set basically epitomises the rise of bulky sweepers in the 5th Gen meta. I don't see him used as often as he should be, and more often than not when I do he's busy DDing, but damn the little bugger's hard to take down with the above set. Only strong STAB Flying or Fighting will stand a chance of OHKOing him, and then on the physical side you have to hit him before he boosts. It's the unreliability of Shed Skin that does him in often - if you don't get a fast wake they'll often be able to wear you down quite well before you can do the same if they have a reasonable bulky counter.

Bulk Up/Rest/Drain Punch/Payback (or Crunch) @ Leftovers w/Shed Skin and a Careful Nature is literally his best set. At least, in my opinion. He also works pretty awesomely with Shinpora, which is cool.

heck, i cant even find the nature on that set although to be rather serious everyone already know about it(drain punch over brick break though) in general.

An offensive DD set with moxie is actually quite good. His base 58 speed maxes out at 236, which hits 354 after one DD, outpacing latios and espeon while tying with thundurus and tornadus.

Scrafty @ leftovers
Moxie
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Jolly

Dragon dance
Drain punch
Crunch
Ice punch

Mix and match the last two slots to fit your team, but drain punch is still king. He's still somewhat bulky, lefties and drain punch keep him alive, and if you can find the time for two DDs moxie will take care of the rest. He's a great answer to espeon, and takes a lot of people by surprise.

Actually, it doesn't outpace any of those Pokes. Thats why not many people use DD Zuruzukin. DD Zuru is still deadly though.

Actually it does wich is pretty impressive if you take into account that he can take a hit from most of the faster Pokemon even without investment and KO back (especially after a few moxie boosts).

@JT Swift i would almost always use HJK over Drain Punch on DD sets as Drain Punchs low BP misses out quite a few OHKOs.

This is the way I run mine:
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Shed Skin
Evs: 252 Hp
100 Def
100 Sdef
50 Speed
Nature: Jolly
Moves: DDance
Ice Punch
Crunch
Drain Punch

I prefer a bulky DD scrafty myself... That way, I can get to 2 DD's easily, get a decent speed, and a high attack.
I don't even run ice punch though. I run both HJK and Drain punch, combined with crunch for unresisted coverage, which is all I really need.

Heracross and Toxicroak wall Dark + Fighting, but I know they'll take plenty from Hi Jump Kick.

I was thinkin of a zuru set that went somethin like this.
ability: overconfidence
item: Muscle Band/left overs
nature:impish
moveset: bulk-up, drain punch, payback, dragon tail
ev's: 252 HP 252 Spec Def 4 Atk

Can someone give me a good bulky set?
I've tried to use this guy a couple of times, but he never seems to impress me and instead dies.
His 4x Dark resistance would REALLY come in handy for my team.

Looks good, but Shed Skin is better than Moxie so that Scrafty/Zuru has a chance to shrug off status. Moxie is better for sweeping sets..

If you've looked back a few pages, the Bulk Up set has been posted several times already:
-Bulk Up
-Rest
-Drain Punch
-Payback/Crunch
Nature: Careful
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 SpD
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Shed Skin

Exact one I tried, and he just relies too much on Shed Skin.
I can go quite a few turns without Shed Skin activating and then I'm just screwed. I'll try it again though.

My only problem with Zuru is that he requires a lot of setup to be dangerous. If your opponent gets any momentum in their side (or Terakion gets in for free), he's not going to sweep.

True, but on the other hand there are a lot of common things he can set-up upon like Nattorei, Blissey, TTar, Burungeru, Lati@s (especially at -2), Sazandora, Doryuuzu and some others.
The DD+Moxie Variants are especially threatening as they often only need one set-up turn to demolish Teams other than the Bulk Up variants that can easily be phazed out as they need to much boosts to break through common walls.

Tornadus and Thundurus max out at 353. So it does out-speed them.

a turn of set up for dd

.

btw bulk up is inferior to the mighty rath of dd

I don't see why everyone is lovin the Bulk Up set. Dragon Dance is waaaaaaaaaaaay better. Perfect Dual STAB, Great abilities in Shed Skin and Overconfidence (Overconfidence is awesome) and it's able to outrun threats like TERAKION who would otherwise kill it.

Bulk up is harder to handle after it gets going because it's bulky as fuck and pretty much impervious to status with shed rest healing it. DD is just another same old same old DD sweeper that gets killed by revenge killers because you're not getting more than 1 DD in.
