5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Correct jones115, once a roamer's IVs are set, they do not change unless they are respawned.

This is true across all generations.

Alright, I'll go ahead and get myself a lower level syncher so that Tornadus can appear while Repel is on. I'll see if it's working or not. Thanks for answering. :)
 
I don't know why but my 3DS does not like my specific seed. I always end up exactly 1 second off from my target, and I'm doing nothing different than I did for my DSi, other than using a 3DS.
 
In ye olde days, when I used Pikatimer, I'd subtract a minute from the target time, this would land me on the correct second.

Change your target second so that the timer is +/- 1 second, in whatever direction you were off.
 
Honestly, I'm beginning to think my 3DS itself is the culprit. Adjusting my target time in either direction does nothing to fix the problem, i still land +1 second off.

It makes me wonder if the 3DS is ill suited to RNG on. Unless it's my seed that's the problem.
 
Gah, there's no way to find what PIDRNG frame you're on yet without an AR, right? :/ I've been going for a Tynamo for almost 2 hours now, and I've only encountered 1, it was Lonely natured, but I wanted Modest.

Right. No AR means you've got to get lucky and hope for the best.

You can abuse with the C-Gear to RNG IVs, on any language/version. Everything else is just luck.
You do not need an AR to RNG.
Japanese versions can RNG shinies, when the next version comes out it will support US and more.

Egg RNG is half based on inheritance, and half based on the MTRNG. You can control half, and the rest is luck.
Egg RNG has been figured out for non C-Gear abuse, which will be possible on english games in no time.

Okay so when the new reporter comes out we will be able to RNG shinies and flawless IV's on our English versions? And also why is half of the IV's based on luck now?

Well hold on... Are all the IV's RNG'd? And the nature, ability, gender and shinyness all luck :o

We're hoping that someday RNG Reporter will be able to predict this, but until then, the only means is to Sweet Scent a Pokemon in an area with no NPCs, and then figure out the frame from the nature\ability\gender. We'll cover this when the new guide comes out.
 
I'm currently in front of munna right now. I want to try to RNG for it, obviously..Can I defeat it so it can re appear when I have the C-Gear, so I can RNG for good IV's, or am I pretty much forced to catch it right now?

Um...there's no forced-encounter Munna in the game, much less one before the C-Gear. There is the Musharna in the basement, but that only appears on Fridays...and you should be well past getting the C-Gear by the time you get access to it.

Yeah you can use non CGear on Jpn Carts. I did. You can use non CGear for Eng Carts too. We just can't search for specific seeds yet.
 
I just returned to pokemon and smogon after a long hiatus. I was able to RNG fine in the 4th generation, but I'm having some trouble with this generation...I may not be remembering everything correctly.

I'm attempting to catch a Cobalion with 30+ IVs in everything. Had a few questions:

1. How do I get the nature I want? I seem to remember using abras with synchronize in 4th gen...

2. Is there any way to advance my frame without having to walk in mistralton cave and risk a wild encounter? (Also without having to save 248 times)
 
Wow. You can definitely find something with a much lower frame and delay. 50,000 is ridiculous.

1. You also need synchronizers in this game.
2. This is all in the first post. Use Repels and try not to fall into a shaking spot. Also, saving doesn't affect the IV RNG.
 
I'm trying to catch a Cobalion with 30+IVs in everything but attack.
Delay: 1748
Mac Address: 9E-EA-A0
Frame: 3

Just to be clear, if I hit my target seed, all I would have to do is start the battle with Cobalion assuming I'm directly in front of him right? Cobalion = 1 frame, C-gear = 2 frames?

Also, how are you guys calibrating your timers without AR to check IVs? I can only get IV ranges from the online calculator. Is it impossible for me to calibrate? Do I adjust calibration and just hope for the best?
 
For c-gear breeding I am using an everstone on my ditto for the nature, however I don't know how to check what delay I hit so I can't update the eontimer according to my results. How can I find which IVs were inherited by the parents? Also if my target frame is 10 and I don't have to do any frame advancing would I start inside the daycare center or next to the man with the egg?
