5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Small note, you dont have to hear the whole chatter. just entering hsi status screen is enough. Having 2, and quiklly switching between em goes fast as hell :)

Anyway, GRATS!

Thanks! :3

But, is there any easier way to count chatters? I may lose track counting so high up to 431. :l

Is the gift Larvesta IV Frame 1 or Frame 8? I apologize if this has been answered already. I was able to get a shiny gift Monkey using a seed with Frame 1. So I'm hoping the Larvesta is also a Frame 1.

Congratulations! And, awesome, because I'm hungry.

Zerofocus: First you'd find a spread in the IV RNG. You wouldn't deal with encounter slots until you started dealing with PIDRNG. There should be a deeper explanation on the first page of the thread.

Yeah I've done a bunch of shiny 5th gen RNGs so I've dealt with the PIDRNG. It's just annoying to search through all the spreads and find one with my required ESV ( 5, 7, 9 , 11) and Ability (Ability 1).

EDIT: New question. My seed requires a keypress combo of "R-L". Does this mean I hit R and then L or both at the same time?

When I searched for a seed for a stationary pokemon, with the Shiny box checked, it comes up with two different frames, the regular "Frame" and "Nearest shiny." How do I reconcile those two?

Frame =IV Frame
Nearest Shiny = Nearest PID Frame with a shiny pokemon

Thank you very much. I thought that's what it was, but I had to make sure. Just curious, if my Frame and Nearest Shiny are 64 and 128 respectively, is it possible for me to hit both of them without overlapping? i.e. I'll be in Terrakion's chamber trying to get him shiny, and I don't know if wild pokemon appear in it; if they do, will moving in them to advance the MTIVRNG frame move the PIDRNG too far? I don't know how to advance the former in there, since I won't be near a PC and walking back and forth within the chamber might screw the whole thing up.

Also, I'll be using a synchronizer, but RNG finder lists a nature for it already. Will having a synchronizer screw it up?

I'm currently saved inside the daycare and using the method where I walk out the door while holding Left and mash A to pick up my egg. I've tried getting my PID frame from Chatots a few times, but I've always been off by a few in either direction. If I go outside and save in front of the daycare man, will that change my starting PID frame? And also, will it make my PID results more consistent than walking out the door and getting the egg?

You will have to find your starting PID again with a new save. But it is much more consistent if you save in front of the daycare man.

That's mildly annoying, but I'm willing to give it a shot after how much I've failed so far.

Is there some sort of inconsistency in the PID after you advance it a lot of times? I'm noticing that I've gotten 1, 2, and 3 frames away from my target on both sides, but I haven't hit my target yet. Is there something about the number of advancements that causes it to skip some frames or something? Is this one of the problems that gets solved by saving in front of the guy?

From what I have heard changing the PID inside the house can cause the NPCs to move in a different way when you exit, and advance the PID over or under where you would have expected.

New page. I haven't found this info yet.

There are wild pokemon in Terrakion's room. The only way to advance the IV frame for you would be walking in there, which will put your PID frame way over your shiny frame. Try some other months and try to find a lower IV frame.

Ok, thanks for confirming that I'm not going crazy (and that there's still hope for my shiny egg). I'm redoing the process from my save on route 3 now.

What's a good MTIV / PID ratio to get Terrakion with? Since it takes 128 steps for 1-6 MTIVRNG advances and that number would put the PID frame at least 256 frames ahead, I would have to have a pretty incredible ratio; yet the times generated were just the opposite: this was the ONLY seed where the MTIV was lower than the PID, all the others had the MTIV higher than the PID by FAR.

Examples of good seeds:
IV 2-6 (not 7 because you'll want to leave 1 spot open) = 1 advance
PID > 350 (256 advances from steps, 40-60 to start and anywhere from 20-50 from turns usually)

IV 7-11 (not 12 because it needs 11 advances, not 13 because you want 1 spot open) = 2 advances
PID > ~580 (512 advances from steps, 40-60 to start and anywhere from 50-100 from turns usually)

etc

Thanks! :3

I count by 2s. I open my Chatot summary and go down to my 2nd chatot and count '2'. Then i go up and down '4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,2,4,6,8,30,2,4,6,8,40,2,4,6,8,50'. Then i start over.

My Shiny Terrakion was IV frame 4. Which required 128 steps. And my shiny PID Frame was 393. I walked 4 steps and turned to keep track of both. Thats 32 turns and 128 steps. Thats 320 PID advancements and 3 frame advancements + an extra 50 or so to the PID frame because of starting frames. About 380+ target PID frame if youre only doing 128 steps.

My advice: ditch your current spread, and find a seed that has the IVs you want on frame 1, even if it means the shiny spread will be a lot higher. Going back and forth between two Chatots is a better use of your time than trying to figure out exactly what steps you need to make in order to hit your shiny PID exactly or whatever.

Or this. However once you get to RNGing specific Pokemon (Axew was a pain) you'll probably have to make do with seeds where you'll have to move. In this case, instead of finding your starting PID Frame without moving, just find your PID Frame that you land on after all your movement is done. Then advance however many Chatot chatters you need (I've needed 100 at most).

Thank you for your responses. I'll try that. Unfortunately the closest I've gotten is 9 / 105 ratio, but I can try a less strict IV range.

EDIT: The Nearest Shiny frame doesn't appear to EVER go above 300; is there a way to change it so it doesn't give me the nearest shiny frame?

EDIT: Nevermind, found one with MTIVRNG frame 1, no problem at all.

I'm trying to RNG for a flawless (I don't care about shiny) Landorous. I found the time that I wanted to use, and when I tested it for frame 1, I got the same IVs RNG Reporter said I would get.

However, the flawless IVs were on frame seven. When I tried advancing the RNG (by moving 257 steps or so with a three-Pokemon party) and then capturing Landorous, I got a different spread than I was looking for.

Is there a way to have RNG reporter list the first 10-20 frames for a given time/keypress so I can see if I advanced the RNG wrong? It will show me nearby frames with different times, and it'll show me the IV spread on frame 1 of the encounter, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to show me "here are the IVs for each frame for this seed when you had this keypress."

FWIW, my seed was 1CC2B0D2D967DC9A.
